  1. We witnessed an encouraging performance by Notts in their first league match of the season against Newport, however, it will be a bigger test for Notts when they meet Salford at ML on Saturday in the early kick off. Salford are tipped to challenge for promotion this season after just missing out on the playoffs last term. Salford did the double over Notts last season, having totally outplayed us in both league games, so Notts will be very keen to reverse that trend of poor results. I expect Head Coach Martin Paterson to pick a similar starting eleven to the one that faced Newport. Alassana Jatta is still under suspension, so I expect Dennis will once again lead the attack. New signing Tyrese Hall is expected to feature in the matchday squad probably on the substitutes bench. I think that this first home game of the season against a strong Salford side, with a large ML crowd in attendance will be a cracker. By the end of the match we may have a better idea of where this Notts team are in the league 2 scheme of things.
  2. Your Weather 4cast for Wednesday.
  3. Don't expect anything less from the BBC nowadays.
  4. You make a good point @Chris We never expected George Abbott to return to Notts, because Spurs want the player to grow, so either playing in League 1 or the Championship would be a natural progression for him.. I agree that loaning Ryley to a higher level NL club would have benefitted him much more. Do Notts think that Ryley has found his true level with Kidderminster? I hope not.

  9. It's positive that they want Ryley back. He did quite well for them last season. It's good that he's going to get lots of game time too. I wish him good luck with this move.

  15. It's been a busy summer transfer window for Notts. So far eleven players have been recruited, with a promise of more to come before the transfer window closes. The first league game of the season saw five of those new players included in the starting eleven, & four more came on as a substitute, with another; goalkeeper Griffiths not used. The Notts match squad looks very different to last season, with Martin Paterson ringing the changes big time. Of course, with so many changes ,it comes with it, potential problems with player lack of familiarality & team gelling, however the indications from that first game, particularly in the first half, is that it didn't seem to be evident. One thing is clear, the new players must have impressed the Head Coach to such a degree that most of them have forced themselves into the Matchday squad. By bringing in all these players, the owners have laid down a statement of intent to give Notts the best chance of success this season. Do PON members agree?
  16. I see what you are saying & it may well happen, however I think there will be midfielders like Reynolds, Sanderson, Edwards & Hinchy that could possibly be considered before Grant for a loan out.
