BREXIT.....
Jacob Rees-Mogg makes the case for Brexit on the fourth anniversary of leaving the EU. And it is a very good case indeed.

BREXIT.....
The French Farmers are still protesting, now they are outside the EU Parliament. The EU have the riot police out to protect the Parliament from the French Farmers. Net Zero is not popular when people see the cost Thanks to Brexit. At least our Parliament can now make it's own mind up about Next Zero

BREXIT.....
Oh dear, things not going well in the EU. The French Farmers are not happy with EU environmental rules, so the shops are emptying, so they are protesting as only the French protest, by clogging up the major roads Thanks to Brexit. At least the Brits can now decide what environmental rules we want.

A Trip Down Memory Lane (18)
Rumbelows Cup October 1991 2nd Round 2nd Leg. Notts County 3-2 Port Vale. Featuring Kevin Bartlett with 2 goals and a Tommy Johnson penalty. Notts came back from 2 goals down to win on the night, but after playing extra time, Vale went through on the away goals rule.

Midfielder Charlie Colkett to Notts
Obviously we don't know what's in the contract cause but I'm sure Notts would have guarantees that if the player is injured long term he would go back to Crewe.

League 1/2 Financial Fair Play Rules.
SCMP (salary cost management protocol) limits spending on player wages to a percentage of club Turnover. Initially introduced during the 2011/12 campaign, SCMP was put in place to ensure teams in League One and League Two operate within their financial means. In League 1 clubs can spend a maximum of 60% of their turnover on wages. Clubs relegated from the Championship into League One are permitted to spend an extra 15 per cent of their turnover on wages for their first season in the division, taking their threshold to 75 per cent. In League 2, the limit is 55%. League 1/2 Clubs can only spend a fixed percentage of its revenue (as above) on player wages etc. This limit can also be added to or impacted by equity injections or net transfer spend. There are no restrictions (in themselves) on the amount a club can lose or spend on transfer fees. (Source Google) So similar to the Premier League, the richer clubs in League 1 and 2 could have an advantage when it comes to buying more expensive players & paying higher players wages. Relegated clubs from the Championship could have an unfair advantage in their first session in League 1, just like when a club receives parachute payments when relegated from the Premier league. An alternative would be to have a Cap on the amount of money a club could spend on buying players and the amount on players wages per season to even things up.

A bright morning for many areas on Thursday but it will be quite chilly, with frost in places at first.

One for the older supporters
If I could take any of these players from yesteryear to fit into our side right now, where we need them, I would have Needham, Stubbs and Jones in our defence and Don Masson in midfield, Macaulay and Didzy would have a field day with Don running the midfield. I'd replace Robertson with Don. Well you can always dream.

Macaulay Langstaff Goalscoring Phenomenon.
I believe Macaulay is good enough to play championship football, I wouldn't consider letting him go for less than £4 to 5 million especially considering he has such a long contract with us. It will be interesting to see how he performs goal scoring wise, now we have a new coach who may be more cautious and Macaulay will probably get less service going forward. I think he's good enough to adapt anyway to any modified team shape, with more emphasis on shoring up our defense.

Notts County: Goal Scoring Machine.
@menzinho Now that we have Stuart Maynard as Head Coach, I think he will go for a much more balanced side with a little more emphasis on supporting our defense which is becoming a key area for us now. To reach the playoffs, which I believe we still can do, we must reduce the goals conceded column even if it makes us slightly less potent in attack

Alassana Jatta to Notts
He looks a totally different player to Macaulay so he will give us other options if he comes here.

Match Discussion: Game 31 - The Stags (A)
Remember they have six defenders injured and two more players will be unavailable due to red cards. Even so they will be tough, but I have a feeling we won't be playing ping pong football under Stuart. I think those days are gone hopefully. Mansfield have a strong midfield so we need to match them there and be solid in defence. A draw would do.

Midfielder Charlie Colkett to Notts
If he gets injured or he doesn't perform he's sent back, so it's a win win for Notts either way

PL Financial Fair Play Rules.
Agree @KB1862. Being in European Competitions gives those top clubs a big advantage to all the other clubs as far as finance is concerned, TV money, prize money, world marketing of their name and goods, that even before they get all the same by ling runs in the domestic cups. I learned on Google today that it is probable an extra place in the Champions League for the fifth placed team in the Premier league will be given in season 2024/25. (They call it a Uefa performance spot) + 6th place for Europa League and a place for the FA cup winner. Then you have another spot for the Europa Conference league too So all the rich clubs will be more or less guaranteed a European spot every year This is basically a Super League by the back door. And combined with the FFP changes, it basically cements their dominance for the foreseeable future. More info here regarding new Champions League format. https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/0268-12157d69ce2d-9f011c70f6fa-1000--new-format-for-champions-league-post-2024-everything-you-ne/

Midfielder Charlie Colkett to Notts
I agree @CliftonMagpie. We have to trust the Notts recruiters. I'm sure Stuart has had input too and advised what he wants. A left footed central midfielder.

Midfielder Charlie Colkett to Notts
First interview for Charlie Colkett. after his loan transfer to Notts.
-
Midfielder Charlie Colkett to Notts
Charlie Colkett has joined Notts on loan until the end of the season. The 27-year-old arrives from Crewe Alexandra, bolstering Notts's central midfield options for the remainder of the campaign. I think this signing till the end of the season is a good move by Notts, Charlie is a left footed central midfielder that has plenty of experience playing in higher leagues. He Captained Chelsea's successful youth team as a youngster. He's also played in Europe too. His signing gives Stuart Maynard more options in Midfield and increases the competition for places too.

Alassana Jatta to Notts
I get your point @liampie I think that we have to underline what happened under Luke & look forward to what happens now under Stuart Maynard. A new Management team bring new ideas, a new approach, a different way of working, and another alternative to how we shape up, play and which players are a best fit in that new model. So I don't think that any of the players can say for absolute certain that they are secure in place, match after match. Apparently according to Tom Williams on X, Jatta is a facilitator that brings other players into play by good link up play, & Tim believes Jatta's strongest attributes is his pace, work rate and link up play. So Jatta could have a role to play in our side depending on the type of opposition too. I agree that he may not get into the side immediately, but he will be on the bench if he comes too Notts.
