  3. I agree @AmericanPie Jodi was targeted and although one can't go as far as saying a player is targeted to injure that player, there have been instances in the past where players have been taken out with the sole purpose of getting them off the field. Jodi was our most influential player again on Saturday with most of the threat coming through him. A famous player like Pele was targeted in the 1966 World Cup when he got injured by a series of horrendous tackles, and had to go off injured.
  4. Notts had 7000 fans travelling to Liverpool for that match. Notts were in the third Division and Liverpool were in the First Division. Notts players included Tommy Lawton and Jackie Sewell. Fancy travelling to Liverpool, then getting locked out. At least nowadays that should not happen, that's a modern positive out of a host of modern football negatives.
  5. @yelobeli I think we still have a good opportunity to reach the playoffs, the next four games will define our season. We will have a pretty good idea whether we will or not. Apart from Stockport, all the teams at the top, especially Mansfield, are going through a sticky patch. We have to keep an eye on the chasing pack behind us too, but there will never be a better opportunity to get a result at Mansfield, they have lots of injuries and will miss two key players due to the red cards they received on Saturday. I wouldn't rule Notts out just yet. If we get to the playoffs anything can happen. If we did go up, our owners will recruit well, so I'm confident if we did get promoted we would compete in that league. I do take your point though. Reaching 50 points will see us safe this year. If we didn't go up, the league may be a little easier next season, so whether we go up or not, it can still be positive for us.
  6. Happy birthday to Notts County Women Manager, Adam Dunleavy.
  7. A favourite of mine. The Pink Panther. Enjoy.
  8. Match Report from last Friday evening's match. Nottingham 57 British Army 10
  9. Good Morning and happy Monday to you all. Staying mainly cloudy with outbreaks of rain.
  10. You can here the VAR team discussing this incident Is this a penalty. The player has his arm in an unatural position so the VAR team say, but he was so close to the ball kicker and the ball hit is foot and then hit his arm, so he had no time to get out the way. If he had his arm by his side and the ball it his foot then bounced against his arm, the penalty wouldn't have been given? Surely, if the ball hit his arm directly that would have been grounds but was it intentional handball?
  11. With no game for Notts County Women this weekend, Adam took a break from the usual Thursday training to carry out some performance testing at the Human performance unit at Derby university with the team.
  12. I agree that Didzy should have been the one to be replaced. I would rest him against Mansfield and put in an extra midfield player for that game in Sam Austin and have Didzy on the bench if required later in the game. Jaden to replace Brindley.
  13. Yes, I think the signs are very encouraging. I will be forever grateful to Luke for getting Notts out of the national league. He will forever be a hero for doing it, however, Luke never got to grips with the fact that we were leaking goals from the start of the season, 26 matches in and there was no sign of change. Now Stuart has come in and it appears he is trying to address the leaking goals issue, and that can only be good for Notts chances of making the playoffs.
  14. Get your brolly out if you are going out tomorrow.
  15. End of the third period and the match and another defeat for Panthers on the road.
  16. @liampie Brindley as a substitute wing back could be an option. I'll be very surprised if Jaden doesn't start against Mansfield.
  17. We'll put. My sentiments too..
  18. Winds easing this evening as rain moves across the North. Increasing cloud but drier in the South.
  19. Panthers still trail 1:0 after the 2nd period.
  20. Posted this video, because Notts has two men over on the right hand side unmarked, a pass across from Jodi would have found one of them with a clear opportunity to score. How can that terrible foul and in addition, stopping a clear Goalscoring opportunity be equivalent punishment for throwing in too late or questioning a decision and getting booked for it, as Notts player was after this incident?
  21. Notts do have a Youtube channel. They should be putting extended highlights on there up to 10 minutes say. Their highlights of the Barrow game was just under 2 minutes, That's not enough really. I'm sure it can't be down to cost, and Notts have a good media team in place too, that could produce a really good highlights show that would get more views. There are lots of Notts fans, that can't attend matches for whatever reason, and can't watch the live stream either, due to cost or other reasons, and would welcome extended highlights from the club.
  22. I agree @liampie I like to see the Notts brief highlights to show the goals, but they should show critical incidents too, such as terrible challenges like this one, and also if the woodwork has been hit & the chances missed by Notts. Also they should show the move leading to Notts's goals in there entirerity, so we can appreciate the build up, & show the incidents leading to a penalty if there are any. It would only need to be no more than a four to 5 minute highlight video.

FA Cup fifth round draw made today. FA Cup fifth-round draw Blackburn or Wrexham vs Newcastle Chelsea or Aston Villa vs Leeds or Plymouth Bournemouth vs Leicester Liverpool vs Watford or Southampton Bristol City or Nottingham Forest vs Newport or Manchester United Wolves vs Brighton Sheffield Wednesday or Coventry vs Maidstone United Luton Town vs Manchester City Maidstone would have wished for a more lucrative draw but they have a chance of reaching the FA Cup quarter final
