BREXIT.....
It a no brainer that UK law has to take precedence over EU law and International law., incidentally the UK has scrapped over 2000 EU laws but regretfully, over 67% still remain The discovery of shell fish beds at Leigh on Sea is a very positive development. If the estuary needs to be cleaned up then this should begin with haste.. I personally believe the Brexit deal with the EU unfairly favours EU fishermen access to British waters and should be renegotiated. Lucrative Blue fin tuna for example, fished off the Cornish and Devon Coast, should 100% be for British fishermen not EU fishermen.

- Can Notts County make the playoffs?
I've listen to Steve's pre Barrow press Conference today and I believe that we have an excellent chance of making the playoffs, we might not score as many goals but we will be more secure at the back which is important.- James Sanderson
Totally agree.???? Agree @thommo I think he's got a great future, whether Notts will be able to keep hold of him is another matter once he establishes himself in the team.- Cartoon of the day

Result of tonights match at the Motorpoint Arena. Sadly another loss although we dominated for the first 40 minutes of the 60.- Historical Notts County Players. James Cantrell.
And what makes the win even more special, it was won in a time when the FA Cup was the creme del la creme, when they played their strongest team and every game was so competitive. It's not now sadly.- A Stuart Maynard Notts Team? A Tactical Analysis.
My sentiments entirely. Well said????. It's going to be an exciting time witnessing how Stuart improves the team defensively.- UK Weather Watch.
Met office forecast for Thursday morning.- Stuart Maynard Press Conference Pre Barrow.
Stuart gave a press conference today talking about his preparation for the visit of Barrow on Saturday. Stuart described how he was settling in to his new job and what he thought he needed to work on with the team to improve the defensive frailties of the team. He talked about the threat Barrow could pose too. Stuart also talked about how the new players were settling in and the injured list, and how they were progressing. Stuart wanted to ensure they had time to recover fully and not rush back before they were ready. It seems that Stuart has identified some of the reasons why the team has been conceding so many, and he has been working on "little tweaks" with the players. It appears that we may see small changes to the shape and tactics on Saturday when going forward. Looking forward to the game. It's going to be fascinating.- Stuart Maynard Press Conference Pre Barrow.

Latest from the MET Office. It's a fine evening for some with winds easing down, but a little chilly tonight.- BREXIT.....
@Ohh Tommy Johnson Yes I'm sure we would. I'd just like to mention that being on the roads as a HGV driver before retiring, I hadn't seen a marked reduction of EU 38/40 tonne trucks on our roads post Brexit. 100s of Trucks I saw each day, from all over the EU, nearly as many as our own. Trade was still going on between the UK and EU. Lots of 7.5 tonne Luton vans carrying small goods from Poland, even Estonia etc. So the trade is still there. Like I say, I've no problem with free trade and I do understand there has to be agreements over standards both ways etc, but it's just all the other laws, rules and regs that were policed by the ECJ, that came with being a member of the EU that I disliked.- Riley Harbottle
He's played 32 games for Mansfield when they just missed out on the playoffs, 11 appearances for Wealdsone. Stuart of course would know him. Whether he's any better than what we have looking at the amount of appearances he has is negligible. By the age of 23 you would have thought he would have established himself in a side or just moved on from Hibernian, where he cannot establish himself at present.- MAGnet Links - Barrow
Haydn Joseph Hollis has played for Barrow and Notts.- Tennis. Brit Watch.

Latest news for tonight's game.- BREXIT.....
@Ohh Tommy Johnson As I said previously, I don't want to get dragged into endless debate about Brexit. I've had enough of it on X. This is primarily a Notts supporting sports forum, and that's why I joined it. I'm not one of those looking inward. I would love to see free trade agreements with all 192 Countries if it were possible. Kenya for instance, their fruit and veg industry is growing, we already buy a growing number of their produce. That trade with Kenya is going to expand and it's not just Kenya, there are many Countries we can buy foodstuffs from at lower prices than the EU can offer. That's the beauty of Brexit. And you never mentioned the EU flag. National flags are a symbol of independence. One of MY biggest motivations was getting rid of that EU flag. The UK is not just a star among other stars. Our Union flag is the one and only star.- Historical Notts County Players. James Cantrell.

So this is going to be the big game when Stuart takes charge of Notts for the first time. We have seen on other threads the footballing philosophy of Steve in action for Wealdsone and I'm sure he's going to put some of his thinking in place for the Barrow game. I expect that he will go for a back 3 supported by two wingbacks & a defensive midfielder in front of the back 3. The wingbacks will have to ensure they track back when we lose possession. Stuart will be more cautious than Luke when it comes to attacking and possibly won't commit players forward in numbers, this may reduce our attacking potency a little, however the big benefit will be defensively. Better to win 2:1 than 4:3 I would be happy with a draw, but hope for a 2:1 win which would be absolutely huge for us. Looking forward to this Saturday. It won't be long coming. - Can Notts County make the playoffs?
