@B&Wstripes we might see better from Randall under Stuart. Surprising what a new gaffer can do for players on the perifery.

BREXIT.....
There's always plenty of hearsay from the Remain side, especially the Guardian.????

The Most Suspicious Game - Possible Match Fixing? Human Error?
@Chris they could go even go further, in relation to serious foul play resulting in yellow or red cards. Why not give the power to the VAR Ref? The on field Ref could give the player committing the serious foul play notification that he's on notice while VAR decide if he gets a yellow or red card. We've seen players sent off who shouldn't have gone. VAR could be used for both yellow and red cards. This way the play won't be held up while decisions are being made.

The Most Suspicious Game - Possible Match Fixing? Human Error?
@Chris I see in the international rugby games, you can hear what the ref and VAR officials are saying to each other. I believe football rejected that. I wonder if that was the norm in football it would cut out many of the mistakes.

The Most Suspicious Game - Possible Match Fixing? Human Error?
We know in this Country that the top six sides are favoured and get all or most of the 50/50 decisions, it is no different in other Countries. In my opinion, TV money, & advertising revenue and Club revenue are all in the mix. What benefit would it be for a lesser side to win when there are so many big interests at stake? There was nothing wrong with Almeria's 3rd goal and it was clearly handball for Real Madrid's 2nd. VAR is killing the game too. It's getting to the point where VAR is actually more of a negative than a positive and it doesn't stop the wrong decisions being made. We are now seeing controversial decisions being made more than ever, and VAR is behind it. VAR needs scraping apart from goal line technology and reviewing sending off decisions.

Exercising
When I was working I was a HGV 2 multi drop delivery driver. I used to walk average 4 to 5 miles a shift plus the lifting which gave me plenty of exercise. Since retiring I try to aim for 4 miles a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. Since retiring in just under a year I'm approaching 1000 miles on my pedometer. Just shows how far we do walk even in everyday living. Just doing weekly shopping one can walk 1.5 to 2 miles going round the iles.

UK Weather Watch.
A few years ago they were just weather fronts, now they are named storms. They are not any more intense than when they were just weather fronts. It just seems that way when they are named. I suppose naming them gets people's attention, that's possibly what they want.

Jaden Warner to Notts
@DangerousSausage I think that all our defence needs is extra cover when we lose possession up front, Jaden will give us an extra dimension, height and ball skills, but we need more caution when going forward, mix up the short game with the long game, & when the defence is under pressure get rid of it or kick the ball into touch. Less trying to be clever at the back, can cut out much of the mistakes. I'm sure Stuart will make small changes to our shape and style of play especially in the next 5 make or break games.

Jaden Warner to Notts
I expect that Stuart will work with our existing squad to reduce the goals conceded column. Yes we have made defensive mistakes, but many of the goals conceded, come by the way the defence has been exposed when we are all out attacking, and are caught on the counter.

A Stuart Maynard Notts Team? A Tactical Analysis.
I agree @True Magpie I would like Notts to be more cautious and less adventurous up front. Notts are an entertaining team, but I do dislike the tendancy to involve in ping pong football with the opposition. We've seen a lot of that during the last dozen games or so when Notts have found themselves behind to defensive errors and are then forced to throw caution to the wind. I hope Stuart can change that.

Historical Notts County Players. James Cantrell.
My parents bought me a leather football with bladder and laces. My mates and I played on the rec with it. In the wet it was like a ball of concrete to head.

Historical Notts County Players. James Cantrell.
Just imagine @liampie what these players of yesteryear would have had to put up with. A leather ball with a bladder inside and laces to close it up, becoming twice as heavy or more in the wet and mud, then having to head a heavy ball like that. These players would have had to be made of the hard stuff. Then there's the pitches of yesteryear, hardly pristine surfaces like today. Then the gear they had to wear, hardly lightweight and cool. Yet despite all of that, he remained fit enough to score all those goals in his career.

Notts County Welcomes New Talent: Defender Jaden Warner
I believe Jaden Warner is going to be a really good signing for Notts, his hight being 6ft 4ins, his pace and skill on the ground is just what Notts need at the back. He's very comfortable going forward and has played on the left or right of defence for Norwich. Jaden has three days or so to train with his new team mates before the Barrow match on Saturday. I would like him to go straight into the side on Saturday but he'll probably be on the bench for that game. Incidentally, Jaden has been used to playing in a back 4 at Norwich rather than a back 3. I still believe Stuart will make some subtle changes to the way we shape up for Barrow, to plug those gaps on transition when we lose possession high up the pitch. Can't wait till Saturday.
