Match Discussion: League Cup - The Shrews (A)
Notts had a positive result at Tranmere & it would be great if Notts can do the same against Shrewsbury. It's a Cup match so I'm sure that Stuart may make a few changes to the starting 11 to give the squad players more playing time. I would prefer that Notts field their most strongest side initially because it is important that Stuart's first 11 continue to gel as a team. If the players are fit I would continue with the same 11 that started against Tranmere. I know that people always talk about the possibility of a player getting an injury, but that applies to any game or even on the training pitch A clean sheet against Shrewsbury would really boost the confidence around the squad, & Notts are due to have a good result against higher opposition. Let's try to get a good cup run going that can bring in some extra revenue for the Club. If we don't concede any goals I would be very happy. A 1:0 win would be great.

Childhood Memories At The Seaside
This film brought back happy childhood memories of visits to Skegness & Mablethorpe in the 60s, when life was much more slower and the World was much more pleasant.

The Much Maligned Magpie.
Thanks for the interesting lesson. I remember being told that nursery rhyme when I was a boy. I'm sure girls used to say that nursery rhyme when they were skipping in a long rope. I forgot all about it before you brought it up here. We have had a few magpies for years right where I live. Before we had our Cyprus tree cut down, wood pigeons used to Nest regularly in it and the magpies killed their young a few times sadly Magpies are very bold. They have come quite close to us when we've sat outside in the garden. They are a very attractive bird but they can be vicious.

Help Wanted
@Wheelbarrow repair man You make some good points here and your ideas appear very sound. I would like to see a fund set up where Premier League Clubs contribute say .05% of their turnover to this fund to assist clubs who are struggling financially through no fault or their own. Something has to be done to address the growing chasm between the haves and have nots

I'm happy with this result. A clean sheet and chances to win it late on. Looking forward to our next match.

@Wheelbarrow repair man Agree, Macca put the goals away but he had such a great supply route with Crowley, Jones, McGoldrick, & Nemane plus the rest of the Notts team.- Paris Olympic Games: Brit Watch

@Wheelbarrow repair man I'm aware that most of the electric milk floats have been phased out but there are still milkmen delivering milk door to door albeit in much smaller numbers. They are franchised milkmen who franchise from Milk & More in this area. I used to deliver milk to their warehouse in Bulwell. They also deliver Bread & PET bottles of milk & other goods too.- Match Discussion: Game 1 - Super White Army (A)
Stuart Maynard picks his first side for the first game of the season. So many injuries to start the season. Concerning that Palmer has picked up an injury again. Looks like Chicksen on the left and Jones on the right. I'm a little worried about getting exposed on the flanks.- Conor Grant Eager to Make an Impact at Notts County After Signing From MK Dons
I wish Conor good luck in his Notts career. Notts have lots of cover in midfield so Conor is going to have to fight for a place. I don't know how him joining Notts will affect Reynolds & Sandersons chances of getting regular first team game time. I hope both of them can still figure in the side - Match Discussion: Game 1 - Super White Army (A)
