@CliftonMagpie I agree with much of what you have said, however I don't agree regarding Southgate. Southgate is the Manager, he picks the players, he also has to take responsibility for shape, style, tactics and how the team is playing. Southgate has had plenty of time to know who is strongest side is, but I don't believe he does know even at this stage of the tournament. The buck has to stop with the Manager and if he cannot get the performance out of such a talented squad like he has here, then it is very fair for the press and the fans to question his tram selection and tactics.

@CliftonMagpie Are you watching the Belgium v Romania match? The outfield play from both sides is sensational tonight. How it is still 1:0 I don't know. But these two teams are going at it as if there was no tomorrow, & these players have all done a full season. So I don't understand how England's players are like they are.

I agree @Wheelbarrow repair man If the Welsh FA appointed Big Sam I'm very sure he would do a good job for them and maybe get them to the World Cup Finals in 2026. I'm sure that he would get the maximum out of the available players that he would have at his disposal. There will be some running the Welsh game that may have some misgivings about appointing Sam because of the way he is, but if they take him on, I'm sure they wouldn't be disappointed. We'll just have to see how this plays out.

I have been watching every match and 99% of the teams I have seen have energy commitment and play good open football. Guess who the 1% is who are not doing that especially in that 2nd game. And yes, we have four points, & we are virtually certain to qualify from their group however, I think England are very fortunate to be in that position. They certainly don't deserve to be in that position the way they have played. I've watched Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands & tonight Portugal & England have a big task on their hands to compete with those five teams later on, if they don't show a marked improvement in their next game.
