  1. @True Magpie you make some good points about Cedwyn.. I hope that Cedwyn will stay and fight for a place in the side. I know it will be hard with Jatta & Didzy first in the queue.
  2. Why would Mat Sadler leave Walsall to go to a club rock bottom of the Championship & odds on to get relegated? Walsall are favourites to win League 2. A Champions mark on his CV is too much to give up.
  3. I think football agents are a scourge on the modern game. I just don't think they provide any useful purpose, but that's just my opinion.
  4. I think the Notts defence played well again with Platt & Bedeau the standouts once again. Bass had a good game with Abbott & Palmer featuring as usual. Josh Martin had a good game once again as did David McGoldrick. For me it was a choice between David McGoldrick, Josh Martin & Matty Platt for Notts Man of the Match. I think that Alassana Jatta just shades it, with his overall performance, scoring another well taken goal, & him being unlucky not to get a brace of goals.
  5. It was a dissapointing defeat against Walsall, however on the positive side there were some good performances for Notts despite the defeat. I have picked nine players for my shortlist for Man of the Match for Notts. They are:- Martin, Jatta, Platt, Bass, Bedeau, Abbott, Palmer, McGoldrick & Crowley.
  6. At the end of the day there are positives to take from this match. We totally outplayed the runaway leaders of league 2 in the first half & should have been 2 or even 3 goals up by half time, & there would have been no coming back from that. Notts are the better footballing side, so the players should take confidence from that. Another positive was that Josh Martin had a good game once again following in from his good performance against MK Dons. Jodi showed that he hasn't lost his ability to create chances for other teammates with his great cross that led to the Notts disallowed goal. If Notts continue to play like they did in the first half against Walsall they will beat most other teams in League 2.
  7. A chilly day for all Thursday, with wintry showers grazing northern and eastern coasts
  8. Liverpool to win the Premier League. Leeds to win the Championship Birmingham to win League 1. Walsall to win League 2. York City to win Nat League. Notts County to get promoted in third place or at the very least a play off place. Man City to be relegated along with a big fine. That's what they deserve. In reality, they'll get away with it.
  9. We should keep him. Offer him a contract till the end of the season. He's had two good games against Cheltenham & Walsall, so he's worth keeping.
  10. I get more enjoyment listening to Radio Nottingham. Best commentary in the Country in my opinion.
  11. We lost to a very good side. But we did play them off the park in the first half. I think the players felt the four Xmas & New Year game schedule in the second half unfortunately. Unlucky at the end not to salvage the point which would have been well deserved. That cross from Jodi that led to our disallowed goal is hopefully going to be a regular thing to enjoy that will cut open opposition defenses going forward. Despite this defeat, Notts are still in seventh place in a good position to continue the challenge for an automatic promotion place. Notts have more games at home than away in the second half of the season. Notts also have one point more than they had at the same stage last season. A home game against Swindon on Saturday to get back on track once again. Lots still to play for.
  12. Team to play Walsall. Looks like Ness, Tsaroulla are unavailable. Cundy on the Bench.
  13. A warm welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Helen Measures Great to have you on board.
  14. It's just a rumour as far as I can see. I think that it is going to be hard for Cedwyn to get a first eleven spot unless there are injuries. No one will ever forget Cedwyn's role in getting Notts out of the National League to where Notts are today. Cedwyn needs regular football time & if these rumours turn out to be true, I say good luck to him if he does leave Notts.
  15. Your New Year's Forecast to kick off 2025.
  16. It's Matchday. CMON U PIES!!!
  17. The poll has now closed. Thanks to all who voted. Looks like we have a tie for the Pride of Nottingham's man of the Match between Alassana Jatta & George Abbott. Well done to both for their excellent performance against Cheltenham.
  18. I want to continue with the walking all be it not as far as this year. Another 31 miles this month, the miles keep piling up. I want to make a conscious effort to spend less time on social media & take up some new pursuits. And it will be diet time at the beginning of 2025 after a few weeks of over indulgence. Happy new year to everyone on PON.
  19. Jodi is still top of the EFL assists list even though he's been out injured for 3 months. It's still been a great year for Jodi despite the injury.
  20. In my opinion he's a person who is being appointed on his reputation of being a very good player in his playing days, but is clearly not making it as a manager at the moment. Maybe he should look further down the league structure & get plenty of experience managing a smaller non league club for a while, & build is reputation as a Manager at a lower level. Not sure that he would want to do that, but he does have lots of experience that he could use while learning his trade as a coach & Manager.
  21. Wind & rain in many areas as we go into the new year.
  22. @Piethagoram forgotten about that one.
  23. The most important game of the season for Notts on New Year's Day. Home advantage should help along with a big crowd to cheer the Magpies on to what could be a vital win. Walsall are arguably the best team in the division currently & are seemingly a cut above the rest. A win for Notts tomorrow would be very significant in the run of things, & would certainly send a message to the rest of the division. I think it will be a very close match, with the odd goal deciding it. A win would be absolutely fantastic, but I would settle for a point. I think avoiding a defeat is very important. Last season against Mansfield at home, in a similar very important crunch match, Notts were soundly beaten. Notts just need to reverse that against Walsall.
