Another way is to Spit over your Left Shoulder and say Devil I Defy You. While another way is to nod your head and say Hello Mr Magpie, how's the Missus and kids? Of course the Magpie is one of the Most Intelligent of the World's Bird species, they can recognize each other and they also morn their Dead. If you ever see a Dead Magpie, keep well away because they can recognize the Human face and will rightly or wrongly associate you as the Killer of their Kin. Farmers who Kill Magpies to keep them away from their crops, cover their Faces when they Hang Dead Magpie Bodies on the fences of their Land. This Gruesome Ritual does work as it does with Crows, the Family of which Magpies are apart of. The Magpie is Also a Killer. Smashing other Birds eggs for their yoke and eating their Hatchlings. Interestingly the birds called Magpies in Australia are Not related to Magpies in the rest of the World. The Magpie's Genus name is Pica Pica. Pica is Old English for Pie. Like Macca he was scoring goals as if they were going out of Fashion for Charlton Athletic, from 1973 -76 he scored 72 goals for Charlton , he was then Sold to Derby County and he scored a mere 4 goals 76-77 then a further 10 for West Ham United 77-78. Before returning to Charlton 1978-1985 to score another 76 Goals to become their all time leading Scorer. Lets hope Macca isn't destined for a similar type of Career. Mind you a return to Notts wouldn't go amiss. Why did Hales fail at both Derby and West Ham? Could it be they didn't play to Hales Strengths? Because once back in the Old Routine at Charlton there were Goals aplenty. You yourself have said you can't understand Millwall buying Macca because they don't play the type of Football that plays to Macca's scoring abilities. From reading the above topic it would appear the Kid as been pushed from Pillar to Post without being given much of a Chance at any of the EFL Clubs he's been associated with, never being given time to settle. Could it be like most young players he's been kept by a Club then Sold on for an Undisclosed Fee, as seems the Norm for young players these days, Tiernan Brookes at Notts springs to mind. Will he be given the chance to display his Talent for the Magpies ? Or will he be shipped out on Loan or held onto until another Club comes in to offer Notts a profit on their Investment? Hence the Three year Contract.

Casting my mind back wasn't Aaron Nemane the last player to sign a New Notts contract he was offered? He seemed to be reluctant to sign a New Deal and was hoping for another Club to come in for him, but when No other Club showed any Interest he Resigned for Notts. I would also think that at MK Dons he won't be expected to go back and Defend. Another point against the Notts "Model".

A well thought out and detailed article. I was surprised you had the Magpies so high up. Because there's still a Huge Question Mark against Stuart Maynard and I think the first Dozen or so Matches will give the Fans an Idea if the step up from Wealdstone to Notts was to Big For Him. For Notts to reach such dizzying heights of 8th I Don't Think it will be with Maynard at the Helm. A more League 1 or League 2 Experienced Head Coach may get the Magpies up to a top half Finish. But I don't mind proved Wrong, it's just a Feeling I've Got.

Why would Notts offer our newest recruit a 3 Year Deal? Didn't I read or hear that the Maximum Deal at the Lane for a New Player was only 2 Years? I would think Aaron Nemane will be more likely to be playing League 1 Football next season than Conor Grant. Now Notts are handing out New Deals, How A bout Offering Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley extensions to their Current Contracts. Just one thing Matches last for 90+ minutes Not 60. The Head Coach also failed to Mention that the second part of Preseason and the Preseason as a Whole was disappointing. The last Few Matches it was the same old Notts of last Season leaking Goals and losing Matches at the Death. I think one of the best performances was the second match against Peterborough when Notts fought back from being 3-1 down to level the Match at 3-3 only to lose the match by conceding in the 89th minute. You've done your shopping your at the Check Out and the woman in front of you starts putting her Groceries on the belt. Then she declares she's forgotten something, so instead of taking her shopping of the belt, she leaves them there and disappears back into the shop to do more shopping, and you can guarantee she always comes back with more than the one item she's supposed to have Forgotten. Then there's always the Old Girl who stands there talking to the Girl at the Till and starts to tell her all about her Grandkids and the holidays she's just had and you get a run down of where she and her husband stayed and what the Weather was like. You listen to her Drone On and you think for God's sake sake Woman SHUT UP Gather up your shopping and P*** Off. Why do people who speak to somebody on their Mobile Phone when their on the Bus, always assume the Person on the other End is Deaf. You get to hear everything how the Bloke who dumped Tracey is a Bast***. How she knew he was a wrong 'un but didn't tell poor Tracey. Then you get the budding Popstar who plays a song at high volume then proceeds to sing along with it. And their voice is awful, and they can't carry a tune in a Bucket. So if you're one of theses people stop and think for a moment, the World is a Stressful Place and it DOESN'T NEED YOU TO ADD TO IT.

Why the Hell couldn't Notts find Jim a position at the Club? His Experience would have been a tremendous help to the Magpie Academy plus on Top of That he also had Huge Respect from his Fellow Players.
