Jokers Wild: Joke Of The Day.
There's a Big Sign over Heaven's Gate. All Men Who Have Been Dominated By Their Wives Stand Here. There's A Que a Mile long. Along side the First gate there's another Gate, with a sign over it. All Men Who Haven't Been Dominated By Their Wives Stand Here. There's One Skinny Nervous Looking Chap Standing There. Saint Peter walks past and says what are you doing there? The Skinny Chap Looks at him and says, The Wife Told Me To Stand Here.

What line up should Stuart Maynard Go For? Simple The Strongest Possible, the 11 he intends to play at Tranmere, against the Best Posh have to offer.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Pilgrims (A)
Preseason Friendlies are to build up a Players fitness, time for New Players to get settled into their New Environment and for the Head Coach to get an idea of the players he'll start in his First XI once the League Season Starts and by Winning Games to Install Confidence and a Positive Attitude. Leaking Goals was a Major Problem last season and new Defenders have been brought in to Stop the Rot. And yet 7 goals conceded in the Last 3 Matches alone Is A Major Concern. So perhaps the Fault doesn't lie with the Defence more of the way Notts play. I don't know how many more times Fans are going to have to say this, until Richard Montague and Stuart Maynard Realize it. THE NOTTS TIPPY TAPPY FOOTBALL "MODEL" DOES NOT WORK. I would say a Majority of Players Don't like it as it goes against the way they normally play and New Players are struggling to Adapt. Stuart Maynard does Not have very good Man Management skills. However left to his own devices he May be able to Find a Winning Formula. But I think there is to much Interference from other Quarters that Stops him doing his Job Properly. And for Fans not overly concerned with the Preseason Results, if memory serves, the Preseason before Notts were Promoted back into the EFL, the Magpies Didn't lose a Match. Therefore Winning becomes a Habit and a Team will carry that Winning Attitude Into The New Season.

Really what an awful Performance. For a Team that's strengthened defensively with the hope for Pushing for Promotion to League 1 and they can't even beat a Non League side. Just What The Hell Is Maynard Up To? Does He Enjoy Putting Himself Under Pressure? Heaven Help Notts on this Performance against Peterborough they'll Rip the Magpies Apart. And don't go on about it's a Friendly and it doesn't count. That's as Maybe But Winning any kind of Match Breeds Confidence through out the Squad. And if the Magpies get a Thumping at Peterborough Well it won't belong Before in some quarters before the Knives are being Sharpened Ready For Maynard.

Ask The Family
@Chris Regarding the Paddle Centre, I didn't know it was a busy place I've never come across any Advertisement for it and as I live a Good Distance from Meadow Lane I've never seen it being used, in fact the only thing I've seen about it was when a Reporter Interviewed Macca on one of the Courts. As for the Nest I had no clue about the Fan Zone not costing the Club money when it's closed. As I've said before it would have been Helpful if the Club put a complete run down of the Events going on at the Nest on the Official Website. All I recall was Joe Palmer stating that the Nest should be finished by the Euro's came round, and the Pictures and uploads from the Fans on PON during the Tournament.

Ask The Family
As the New Season approaches in the Wheelbarrow Repairman's house hold our thoughts has a Family turn towards all things Notts County Things which we talk about around the dinner table. Here are a few subjects that have come up, and I wondered what Notts interactions come up at Fellow PON members meal times, regarding the Goings on at The Lane. My Youngest Son isn't a Fan off the New Notts Home Shirt, from a distance he says it looks like an all Black Kit. If the Magpies play in white shorts at least it breaks up all Black appearance. He's in Favour of a Bold Black & White Striped Shirt. Macca's Transfer came up (of course) My Eldest Lad did say at least Notts managed to hang on to Macca for the Full season, but if the old system of No Transfer windows had been put in place, and English Football still allowed Clubs to sign players all season long Macca may have Gone Sooner. I see his point only I'd Prefer to see No January Transfer Window. And have all Player deals done in the Off Season. The Wife hopes the Magpies can have a better finish to this season, than they Had last season. She's not Sure if Notts will get Promoted but a top half Finish and maybe a playoff Place will be an Improvement. I express my views on PON. And I have some Nagging Thoughts at the Back of My Mind. The Main One Being Stuart Maynard, something I have stated on the Website, I would think the opening Couple of Months (Results Wise) will indicate if I've been worrying about Nothing. Another Concern is the Nest, now there is No Major Football Competition on will this effect the Club and Put a Strain on Resources? Because as of Yet No Announcement has been made by the Club, regarding what is going to Happen with the Nest. Also it would seem the Paddle Centre as been a Bit of a Dead Donkey. I've not read anything about it at all recently.

Sad News Regarding The Royal Mint
My Guess is the material which makes British Coins will be totally Inferior to what we have now. Thus Not Making the Minting of New Coins worth having, so Coins will be got Rid completely . Another Step Towards A Cashless Society.

GIVE IT TO JATTA
Like it's been stated I don't think the Number 9 Shirt holds the same importance has it used to, if Teams played in the Old 1-11 shirts the number 9 was usually the Teams Top Scorer, but nowadays with the Squad numbers taking over , No particular Number has much identity attached to it. I think Ruben when he was at Notts was considered a Number 10, but always wore number 20 on his Back. It's just another Tradition that's Fallen By The Way Side, in the Modern Game. Many things have changed over the Years and Not Always For The Better.

GIVE IT TO JATTA
@Robbie I Think He'll Lead The Attack, No Matter What Number He's Got On The Back Of His Shirt.

NOW HEAR THIS, NOW HEAR THIS.
I Can't make head nor tail of it either. As @CliftonMagpie said why wouldn't Leeds just bid for Macca in the First place? Unless Millwall got their Bid in first and Leeds came to some sort of Agreement which will benefit Millwall by Leeds paying Macca's wages and then loaning him back to the Lions on the condition at the end of this Current season he'll go to Leeds, who may have a Prolific Goal Scorer on they hands in the Premiership should they get Promoted. @Robbie Millwall may not play like Notts do, but I think Leeds will. Imagine should Leeds get Promoted and Return to the Premiership then they'll have Macca a Proven Goal scorer for a Mere £1.5 million. At the moment there may not be room for Macca at Leeds . Then again he's not first pick at the Den. If and I say again if the Rumour is True, Leeds may be waiting to Off load one of their Expensive flops at the End of 2024/2025, to replace him with Macca. Wheels within Wheels.?
-
NOW HEAR THIS, NOW HEAR THIS.
There is a Strong rumour going round. I say again A RUMOUR. Macca as left the Millwall Training Camp in Spain to fly back to the U.K. To Sign For Leeds United, who will loan him back to Millwall for the Coming Season. Any Truth in the Rumour or Do You Think It's A Load of Old Cobblers? I'm more on the Ageing Shoemakers side of things. Then Again if it is True Notts will get a Piece of the Transfer Fee reported to be £1.5 million.

Septic Peg.
@Robbie Well I'll say one thing Fella. I Admire your confidence in Chelsea if Poch had been in charge Maybe 6th. The Trouble is they change their Manager more times than the average woman changes her mind. I reckon top ten finish at Best (outside the top 6).

Match Discussion: PSF - The Minstermen (A)
@Fozzy 19 or 20 players, (I said 20 because someone stated it on PON) It simply isn't Enough. As I said in my Previous post a Squad of 24 Senior and two Academy players, should be sorted now ready for the Season's start. @menzinho Thanks for the Highlights upload. Just watching these clips Notts defenders still hang off attacking forwards instead of tackling them. New defenders seem to be playing a system that's Alien to them it looks like they aren't playing their natural game and if this isn't sorted quickly Notts could find themselves struggling playing a "Model" that doesn't suit them.

I walked into the bathroom the other day, and the wife had just gotten out of the shower She was Bent over in front of me Drying her feet. I Thought Wow. I wish I could Bend Over That Far.

There are some complete A**e H***s around. Even if these people are caught, what will happen to them ? In a word NOTHING. If anyone can go into a store and shoplift Items worth under £200 the Police aren't Interested, so wrecking Goal Posts isn't going to Bother the Police. If it's reported to the Law they'll just shrug their shoulders and write a Report about the incident.

The Senior Squad at Notts is 20 players. And with Matt Palmer and Nick Tsaroulla both still inured then the number is down to 18. That's not enough. The Magpies first Match is August 10th so between Now and Then the Club need to sign another Four Players (that's the number often quoted) Four players in 13 days that's a Big Ask, Four New Players who have to learn the type of game Notts play over 1 or 2 Preseason Games. I would have hoped the Squad would have been settled by Now and Preparations for the Season more or less Sorted. 24 Senior Squad Members plus a Couple of Academy Players, to Choose From.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Minstermen (A)
Ok it's a Preseason Friendly, No League Points at Stake. But isn't there a worry that Notts are 2-0 against a National League Side an instead of going on to Score more Goals, and Secure a Confidence Boosting Victory the Magpies end up drawing 2-2. Stuart Maynard seemed far to casual in his Interview, surely by now he should have his Starting XI ready for the opening Game at Tranmere and they should be playing in these last few Friendlies.

@Robbie Read what a fellow PON Member Scotty says in the Comments in my Macca Why So Cheap ? Topic.

Tired
@Robbie What About Macca? Do you think he could have earned that type of money at Notts?

Match Discussion: PSF - The Minstermen (A)
Did You Notice how far Bass came out of his Goal to set up the passes which lead to Notts Second Goal. You will Also Notice there are No Notts Defenders covering the Magpies Goal if Bass had lost the Ball. Playing Tippy Tappy Football is Wrong for Notts and if they go on Playing that way, instead of Pushing For Promotion, the Magpies could Find Themselves in a Relegation Battle. I was thinking @Robbie as Scott Fully Recovered from his injury? Then again he as to learn how to play along side Jatta and that may take Time. Once he does find the Back of the Net, I think other Goals will come.
