  1. This is Great Brilliant Fantastic News. There making another Wallace & Gromit Film. Due out this Christmas a 70 minute full length Feature Film starring everybody's Favourite Clay Motion Stars return along with an Evil Villain from a past Adventure. After 31 years in the Clink, like Arnie in Terminator He's Back, Feathers McGraw in Wallace & Gromit Vengeance Most Fowl. My only Concern is it's on the B.B.C I just hope they don't force Nic Park to Include Modern Day Messaging.
  2. Two twin brothers, one with extremely large eyes the size of saucers and his brother with extremely large ears the size of plates, go for a job on a Clipper Ship. They report to the Ship's Captain who, looks them over to the brother with the big eyes he says' You can be the Ships Look Out. Up you go into the Crow's Nest. To the brother with large ears he says I haven't got job for you, well I suppose you can scrub the Decks. Anyway three weeks out of Port and the brother in the Crow's Nest shouts out Chinese Junk off the Starboard Bowe. The Captain looks through his telescope and there on the far horizon, he can see a little dot, slowly moving along. . That's amazing thinks the Captain. How do you know it's a Chines Junk? shouts the Captain to the brother in the Crow's Nest. Our Kid Can Hear Them Talking.
  3. Ah Yes Peterborough . Once Described by the Late Great Mel Smith As Some Anonymous Urban Carbuncle off the A1.
  4. Was this ever really a Thing? Or just Paper Talk? It was that interesting I'd Forgotten about it. And I For One am Glad that A Certain He who's name shall Not Be Spoken Sold Our Beloved Club To Chris & Alex. You see he did do Something Right. On an entirely different Note . Pique was he the Guy who married Singer Shakira ? Then went off with another Woman? That other Woman must be a Goddess, because Shakira is incredibly Beautiful and what Red Red Blooded Man will ever forget her Music Video to Whenever Wherever. COR !!!
  5. @allardyces tash 100% Agree with You. Notts Must Remain a Family oriented Club. As most current Premier League Clubs don't have the type of Bond the Magpies have with their Fans. It Seems the Top Clubs just want your money. They Don't Care Just As Long As You Pay Your Cash. But with all this Talk of a Consortium with loads of Money, they certainly seem to do things on the Cheap. Both new signings came to Notts on a Free Transfer. Which is No Bad Thing as the Pennies are being watched, after the Financial Problems Notts have had in the Past. Dark Days which Fans will Not Want to See Again.
  6. @Robbie an Older Player to keep the Younger players Calm and Focused when things don't go to plan, would be a Welcome addition to the Squad. An EFL Experienced Goalkeeper, someone young Brookes could look up to and Learn From.
  7. So I've got this Brand New Ducatti 916 Motorbike, Beautiful Machine in Red. And the wife asks Can I take her Mother for spin on it? Yes I suppose. So the Mother-in-Law sits on the Pillion . Then it Starts GBH on the Ear hole. You're going to fast slow down, mind that parked car watch out for those pedestrians On On she goes. I pulled up at some traffic lights, they turn to Green and off I go. Half a Mile further on I get pulled over by the Law. The Copper gets out of his Car and I remove my Helmet. Are you aware Sir, Your Passenger fell off at the last set of Traffic Lights? Thank Heavens I replied I thought I'd Gone Deaf.
  8. With out a Doubt @Chris Neil's record for getting Clubs Promoted and Saving Others from the Drop is truly Amazing. His Man Management Skills are also Superb. That's why I've kept going on about Notts hiring him as Director of Football here at the Lane. Nobody can say Neil wouldn't have made a Great Tutor for Stuart Maynard and Helped him become a Better Coach. his Footballing Knowledge and Experience would work wonders for Maynard just knowing he could at anytime tap into all that vast Knowledge to help the rest of his Coaching Staff become better at their jobs and Players simply better Players. But it would seem that the Board at Notts and some Fans Don't think it's a good Idea, how could it Not Be? Somebody who will Improve the Head Coach and Players can only be a Boon. Sorry I've wondered off Topic.
  9. @Robbie Good Grief George Ramsey seems one hell of a Manager, 40 years in charge at one Club and winning Trophies left right and centre. I may have to change the G.O.A.T Heading to the G.OA.T Manager of the Modern Era. Because this guy has One Hell Of A Record. There's No Premier League Managers who could come anywhere near George's longevity. It would be interesting to know his Win Ratio over those Forty Years, if Records go back that far.
  10. A ticket costing £5 to stand and a tenner to sit down during the Euro's ? No Thanks. Then the cost of a drink and something to eat, that's not going to make it a cheap Afternoon/ Night out for a Family. Plus a Fiver if you want to park your car. Go down to the Local and watch England games for nothing. Or watch it at home get a some bottles in a few nibble have your mates round and watch the Matches on your own Flat Screen Plasma TV.. Is this how much it will cost to get into the Nest on Match Day a Fiver a Time? Everything as got to be paid for by Card. Going Cashless? Nah Not For Me Thanks.
  11. Good Interview, young Jacob sounds very Positive and at 24 will hopefully be a Main Stay of the Notts Defence for seasons to come. Welcome to the Lane Jacob here's to a Good First season in the Black & White Stripes.
  12. Anybody on PON Superstitious? Because looking at the Nest Logo there's only One Magpie. And as the Rhyme goes ONE FOR SORROW. Lets Hope Another Magpie is Added. TWO FOR JOY.
  13. Now the Magpies need an older experienced Defender to help Matt Platt and Jacob Bedeau settle in and help improve their game. Certainly something Jim O'Brien could have helped with if he was still at the Lane in Coaching Role.
  14. What an Enigma this guy was, because wherever he went, the Coaching Staff just didn't seem to be able to get his True Talent Out. One match he'd play like a World Beater while in the Next Match he wasn't with it. A Coach with top end Man Management Skills might well have gotten the Best Out Of Him.
  15. @Robbie Reading your comment I to have left out the likes of Mourinho and Pep because both have never been to Financially Strapped Club, while managing a Club in England. Both have had Millions of Pounds worth of playing Talent and as is often said Manchester City with their Arab Rich Owners and Chelsea under Abramovich bought their Success.. To even get a Sniff of being Considered the G.O.A.T both Jose and Pep need to go to a Club, like oh I Don't Know. Wealdstone or Dorking go to a Non League Team with little or No player Budget, get them Promoted back to the EFL and finally into the Premier League then they both can call themselves Managers. Ferguson was another with a Big Transfer Budget, later on in his stint at Man Utd. I've have heard the name Herbert Chapman but was unaware of his Record. And he was way before my time, so I've stuck with Managers I know .Bill Nicholson I have heard of didn't his Spurs team do the Double for the first time in the 20th Century ? Another Manager who did the Double was Bertie Mee at Arsenal. Both Jimmy Sirrel and Dave Bassett while never winning a Major Trophy both have Achieved remarkable success at Notts and Wimbledon and took their Teams to the First Division, so both deserve Recognition.], by building Something Out Of Nothing. But coming down to Brass Tacks, I like you have to Choose Brian Clough as the G.O.AT.
  16. After writing a piece regarding the G.O.A.T Player. I thought I'd give Fans the Chance to name their G.O.A.T Manager. I have only included Managers who have Managed in the Football Leagues of the English Game as I'm Not an follower of the European Leagues. So here goes with my Selection. Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Matt Busby, Alf Ramsey, Brian Clough Bobby Robson, Arsene Wenger, Alex Ferguson Dave Basset and Jimmy Sirrel. It isn't all about Winning Trophies but what a Manager brought to a Club. Bill Shankly. Turned Liverpool around pulled the Club up by it's Bootlaces and began building the foundations of the Liverpool Winning Machine. Won 3 Division 1 tiles FA Cup and UEFA Cup. Bob Paisley. Continued the Work started by Shankly and excelled his Trophy Haul was much bigger than his Predecessor . First Manager to win 4 titles in a Row in the English Top League. So Pep ain't Unique. Matt Busby. After almost perishing in the Munich Air Disaster and losing most of the Busby Babes in that Tragedy, he rebuilt Manchester United and his Team became the First English Winners of the European Cup. Alf Ramsey. The Only England Manager to Win The World Cup. Won 9 (3 shared) Home Championship Victories as England Manager .First Division Second Division and Third Division ( South) Winner as a Manager with Ipswich Town Brian Clough. Old Big 'Ead himself. Took two mediocre Footballing Sides Derby and Forest and made them into League Champions and twice European Champions with Forest. Bobby Robson England Manager Success in England, Holland, Portugal and Spain. Arsene Wenger Managed the Arsenal Team of the Invincibles when the Gunners went undefeated through out the 2003/04 Season Despite much success in England never won a European Trophy. Alex Ferguson. The Manager with most Trophies on this list. Winning titles in both England and Scotland. Dave Bassett. No Major Trophies. But 7 Promotions. And took Wimbledon FC from the Fourth to the First Division in 5 years. Jimmy Sirrel. Another Manager who took an unfancied Notts County from the Bottom League to the Top League. (Though he did have stint at Sheffield United, in between. And also Designed the Sheffield Untied Club Badge)
  17. Ok @Robbie I I was unaware of other sources. I will admit the only thing I was interested in when the Reedtz Brothers took over at Notts, were who they were and read up about their Company Football Radar . I Don't have Sky TV and I don't read papers or check their Websites or watch their You tube channels. Nottingham Post is a Red Rag who I think are totally unaware that in fact Nottingham have 2 Professional Football Teams.
  18. I've read about the Red Dogs wanting to move to Toton. Don't think it will happen it would cost far to much. Having to build the Stadium plus Parking and laying down access roads etc, it's already been rumoured it would cost between 5-8 Billion Pounds. On top of this there's a Local School Academy nearby plus the Tram Stop. The continual Construction noise and pollution and the arrival and Departure of Construction Traffic will certainly make Locals lives a Misery. Then there's the Historical Point that being the closeness of Meadow Lane and the City Ground, the nearest two stadiums in England. And wasn't the Forest Owner going to extend the City Ground at one stage, did that happen?
  19. I am sure that Macca will wear the Notts Captain's Armband with Pride, I have No Doubt about that, I just can't get this Niggling worry out of my mind that it may affect his Goal scoring. Then again Matt Palmer as Vice Captain may contribute the Leadership Role to his Team Mates leaving Macca Free to Do What He Does Best. Score Goals.
  20. Remember Willie when he played at Derby, in the early 1970's. Only a little Guy but he was like a Terrier Strong and Brave. One game that stands out in particular, was Derby vs Spurs at the Baseball Ground and the Rams won 5-0 and Willie scored with a header and Hugh Johns on the Big Match said A goal for Derby by little Willie Carlin, who despite his small statue as just out jumped Mike England 6 foot plus and Pat Jennings 6 foot plus, to put the ball in the Spurs net. A Sad Loss R.I.P Willie.
  21. A Chap was pulled over by the Police and was asked, Have you be drinking Sir? Yes Officer. 9 Pints of Lager, 2 Double Whiskies and a Drambuie Would mind blowing into this Bag. Why? Don't You Believe Me?
  22. @Piethagoram We can Never thank the Brave People for their incredible Service to our Country and the Free World which is still Free Thanks to them, for those that came back and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice against Tyranny, we must make sure Nothing like this happens again. Your Children Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, and for Generations yet unborn must be told of their Bravery Sacrifice and it needs to be taught in schools they must Never Be Forgotten.
  23. @Robbie The thing is Can We the Normal Fan Do Anything About It? I know there was an Up Roar from Fans Regarding the European Super League and that bore Fruit, but the Super League is Still there Festering in the Dark waiting for it's chance and it seems it will come back and be a Reality Sooner Rather than Later.
  24. Here we go again. Your so right @Robbie But as the Saying Goes MONEY TALKS and the F.A. and Premier League are Deaf when it comes to the Worries and Troubles of Clubs in the EFL. As long as they can make Money out of it then it's just Carry On as Normal. Things will Remain the same as long as the current People in charge at the FA Remain in Control.
  25. @Robbie Sure thing it's Ok to Disagree that's the whole idea of Debating. And it's nice to see we can Agree to Disagree and Not Get Personal or Nasty about things. Even Though I am Right (HA HA). It's Good to be able to Express our Ideas and feelings Regarding Football in General and Notts in Particular. Long May It Continue.
