  1. I wonder why the Person who did the graphic didn't go into Greater detail? After all as Robbie as Stated there are many different reasons Macca didn't take his chances All top scorers miss chances. Lee Hughes scored 59/60 goals for Notts and you can bet he missed a fair few. Even the Great Les Bradd would tell you he's missed some sitters in his time. And do you mean to tell me that a Club from higher up the Football Pyramid who's interested in Macca is going to lose all interest in him because he's Not taken 29 chances? Or is that what the person who's produced this Data is hoping for? If that's the case, they're quite right Nothing to see Here Leave Macca at the Lane.
  2. Lets hope Stuart Maynard reads the Pride Of Nottingham Web Site and sees your two Gentlemen's ( Robbie & Piethagoram) excellent suggestions. Just don't hold Your Breath.
  3. I have stated in a couple of comments on PON that I had a Horrible Nagging feeling at the back of my mind that Wrexham might put in a Bid for Macca once the Summer Transfer window opens. Imagine to my Horror that Wrexham (along Bolton and Peterborough) are thinking of making such a Move. The story comes from the Football League World on line. Is it True or Just Paper Talk? Would Notts let Macca go to Wales if the price was right or wait for a better bid from a Championship Club? Or hold onto him with the hope his goals will get the Magpies into League 1 next season? It's going to be one Hell of an Off Season. Macca to Wrexham me and my Big Mouth !!
  4. As Greavesie used to say IT'S A FUNNY OLD GAME. Proof in Point.
  5. So I rang up the Spiritual leader of Tibet and a fortnight later a goat with a long neck arrived for me. Apparently I'd called Dial a Lamar. Have you ever heard of Spoonerisms? That 's when you take the first letter of somebody's name and change it with the First letter of their last name. Like Nottingham's famous son Robin Hood, becomes Hobin Rood, Little John becomes Jittle Lohn and Will Scarlet is Sill Wcarlet, mind you you'll have to be careful with Friar Tuck. I saw a small ad in the local paper it said Ugly Fat Bloke Seeks Super Model with a Sense of Humour.
  6. I don't think it's the Owner DangerousSausage, it's the Owners Son, who seems to be getting more and more influence in the Running of the Club.
  7. This Young Man could be the Next big thing at the Lane. Providing of course he gets the Chances and is Not Continually Shipped out on loan season after season. He's already scored a Goal in the three matches he's appeared in, and as done well in each so surely he deserves a chance in the Notts Senior Squad next season?
  8. Going over some of Jim's past remarks there could be a position within the Club for him perhaps in the Academy? In one interview Jim said that he's changed his attitude towards some young players instead of screaming at them he puts his arm around the players shoulder and gets the way he wants them to play in a more calmer way. There are No doubt certain players understand things better if they're put to them in a forceful way while others need to be coaxed. Man Management Skills. I think Jim learned a lot from Luke Williams when he was at the Lane and what is the Best way to encourage players to play a certain way. Because when Jim took over the Head Coach job he assured the Media that Nothing had changed and the day to day training programmes remained the same, and in his interviews several times Williams stated he had Great Admiration and Respect for Jim and stated he was a Big Help in the Dressing room. The only Black Cloud on the Horizon, is the fact Jim is already coaching in some capacity at Sheffield United and as been for a while so could Jim end up with the Blades rather than at the Lane?
  9. Ohh Tommy Johnson I'm not so sure even if we lose Macca Jodi and Dan that the style of play will change because it seems the "Model" will remain in place because it worked in the NL so it'll work in League 2, even if it Doesn't being Stubborn and Reluctant to Change things around could prove costly for Notts next season. Continual interference from upstairs certainly wont help Stuart Maynard. Trouble is Robbie if we lose Jatta to injury (as is the case at the moment) that outlet is closed. Could Scott take that role? I don't know because I don't know how tall he is, he's not as tall as AJ but I think he's bigger than Macca. Finally I refer back to the excellent topic Retain Release Sell Keep by ARLukomski regarding Notts and I'll say I agree with him Notts need to be Brutal in the Summer there really needs to be a Massive clear out because it's been painstakingly obvious a huge section of the current Magpies Squad is Not League 2 Standard. And just because one or two players have performed "better" in their past few games doesn't mean they should be kept, their whole season performances need to be looked at. Because if players are retained that aren't good enough then Notts are Going To Struggle. We the Fans are Aware of this lets just hope the Powers That Be are aware of it also.
  10. Robbie Before the arrival of Stuart Maynard Jim as we know was in charge for the one game which ended in a 5 all draw. And in one of his pre match interviews he told of all the players calling him Gaffer which shows the type of Respect Jim as from his fellow players. It certainly would have been Interesting to say the least if Jim had been offered the Head Coaches Job till the end of the season. Would the Magpies final League position have been higher than their current position? We'll Never Know. One comment which made me smile when Jim was appointed Head Coach was Hire Jim he'll get the JOB Done. Very Clever that. Lets just hope the Club offers him a coaching position and Jim accepts it.
  11. Sorry Don't Care he made a callosal mistake at Notts by stating It's My Way Or The Highway. Which he may have got away with if he'd been a decent sort of manager. Owner at the time Alan Hardy got something right for once by getting rid of him Early Doors. And he didn't pull up any trees in any other of his English football Coaching positions. Yeah Coaching in Japan might just be about his level. He certainly wasn't Going To Make it at the Lane. He seemed to get both Players and Fans backs up Not something you need from your Head Coach.
  12. You Ain't Wrong Fan of Big Tone. The word Legend is banded about a little to Freely nowadays, but in Jim's case it certainly is Appropriate.
  13. Have I read that right Robbie, if the Club wants to bring in better players the answer to that question is No ? That all rather confusing really.
  14. Ohh Tommy Jim has said on a Social Media Post Well this looks like it. Thankyou and Goodbye. (Source Football League World) So that sort of gives the hint Jim's footballing career is Finished at the Lane. Plus his Standing Ovation at the Lane last Saturday, it would seem all that's left is confirmation from the Club. Robbie at 36 Jim is considered Old from a Footballing pointing of view and I don't think hanging on for another year at Notts only playing the Odd game or Odd minutes here and there is the way Jim will be wanted to remembered. He did his bit against Colchester and was awarded the Man of the Match for his Warrior type play, it's Hard for anyone to say that's it But let's remember Jim as a Battler rather than someone who just mooches around the Lane hoping to get a game now and again. Like I've said Jim needs to be kept at the Lane in some sort of position and I totally agree with you he'll end up in the Big Chair one day, in Charge of his own Team.
  15. Proof DangerousSausage if proof was needed that the controlling bodies of British football need to be totally reorganized and people at the top need to be removed and replaced with people who have an understanding of the Modern Game and have the Fans interests at Heart.
  16. Spot on Robbie. If Notts aren't going to encourage it's young talent what's the point of having a Youth Team? It seems that the Club gets hold of young Talent and once they reach a certain level they get repeatedly sent out on Loan without even getting a sniff of playing for the first team or even sitting on a the bench. Then the young player gets fed up and goes elsewhere or retires from the Game. Which loan players have performed well at Notts in recent seasons? I would say Jodi was a Gamble which paid off handsomely and Lewis Macari was coming to the end of his Stoke contract and he had nothing to lose by throwing in his lot with Notts. Perhaps the last two loan plays to make any real impact in the Black & White stripes were Ryan Yates and Jorge Grant way back in 2017/2018? If I remember right the last Notts player to come through the ranks at the Lane and play on a more or less regular basis was Curtis Thompson. Ohh Tommy Johnson I'm afraid I don't agree with you regarding Cameron in my opinion he's to slow, get a player with speed and he's left for Dead. Every time Baldwin gets the ball it seem the crowd hold their breath waiting for him to fall over and give the ball away. And if like you say he's being a bad influence he needs, to be shown the door .
  17. Because Super_Danny_ Allsop if Notts are to improve than money needs to be spent. Lewis Macari is an excellent player but just look at his playing Pedigree. The Recruitment team struck lucky with Macca and Cedwyn and Dan Crowley didn't come from the National League, but for every Gem they've unearthed they have signed their fair share of players that clearly are not League 2 standard. And with Successful Teams you'll usually find a mixture of Both Young and Experienced Players.
  18. It would seem that Jim O'Brien has played his Last Game for Notts down the Lane. At 36 it seems Jim as decided to hang up his Boots. Ever since the guy walked through the door at Notts he's given his all and fought like a Warrior and played his part in getting the Magpies back into the Football League. He's spilt blood for the Club remember the Horrific gash he got on his Leg? When a an opposing players studs ripped open a wound on his leg. Remember how he stood up for his fellow players against Alan Hardy and his non payment of wages? Fans and fellow Players and the Managers he's played under since his arrival in 2019 owe the Guy a Massive Thankyou. I would ask Chris and Alex find a position within the Club for this Notts Legend to continue his huge positive influence at the Lane. I thought after Notts Wembley Victory Jim may have decided to hang up his boots then, but being the Guy he is he's stayed on and helped the Magpies secure and consolidate their place in League 2. Jim you're a Hero and a Notts Legend. JIM O'BRIEN HE'S ONE OF OUR OWN.
  19. Nail hit fully on the Head Robbie. Experienced Defenders the Blood and Guts Type of Player who would strike fear into opposing attackers. Players that can do a proper job defending the Notts Box so not every single Notts player needs to come back and defend leaving some of the Magpie strike force up field to take advantage of a quick counter attack. And I'm Fed Up Of Saying This. Notts Need A Leader On The Pitch an Experienced Captain who can shout order and get the Best Out of His Team while they're on the Pitch. But just as important as a tough defence a Goalkeeper who can dominate his box and area, and doesn't go for a walk to almost the half way line when Notts are attacking.
  20. I can Not really take Credit for a vast majority of this article Robbie has I am quoting things both Sam and Neil said in the Podcast and I've only added my own thoughts which are relevant with what I think is wrong at the Lane. Regarding what type of Football should be played at the Lane if it's Not Working next season will the Brothers or more to the point Richard Montague allow Stuart Maynard to change certain things or Stick to the present set up come what may? Even if Notts end up in a season long Relegation Battle? And as was stated by Sam and Neil, young Managers can't play any other way, but the passing side to side backwards and forwards between defenders and the Goal Keeper. Even if Notts look like being stuck with this type of Football there are many ideas from Sam and Neil that Stuart Maynard can adopt, which wont interfere with the playing style. Examples Man Management Luke Williams had it in Bucket Loads, as stated he improved all his players, which is something Stuart Maynard needs to attain even if he needs to take a course in it. Also be willing to mix things up, something Williams refused to do. There have been times Maynard has attempted to do this the trouble was he kept changing things around the Victories at Newport and Bradford prove this he tinkered with a winning formula and the Magpies lost their following matches. A Good Goalkeeper is needed boy do Notts need a good Goalkeeper. If Tiernan Brookes isn't that guy he still needs to be in the Squad as back up. next season, sending him out on loan again will only destroy his confidence. Man Management skills. Maynard doesn't come across as the hard type of Manager. No that's wrong he doesn't come across as a Strong type of Manager. This is My Team and I'm in Charge, because if he doesn't Toughen Up he isn't Going To Survive. Be your Own Man Stuart Not A Yes Man. I don't know why people think that the appointment of a Director of Football in the Warnock/Allardyce mould would upset things at the Lane. After all learning from a Master manager would help Stuart Maynard No End. They would help him toughen up, they would help him with his Man Management Skills. Even if Notts don't appoint a Director of Football, which seems highly unlikely you can't tell me adopting some of their ideas isn't going to Help Stuart Maynard become a better Head Coach.
  21. I have recently watched a Podcast called No Tippy Tappy Football. Great Name. It featured two of Notts County's Legendry Managers Neil Warnock and Big Sam Allardyce. And what they discussed was interesting and between them they came up with ideas which Stuart Maynard should adopt in helping him to becoming a better Head Coach. Play the Notts Model way and let in 85 goals or play the way to Win. They didn't refer to Notts, I am Para Phrasing. Ronald Koeman's Everton side let in 25 goals in 8 matches playing Tippy Tappy Football Relegation form. So he was Sacked by Everton. Big Sam came in played football his way and kept the Toffee's Up. To Stuart Maynard You Don't Go To A Club and say I'm going to play this system. You Go to a Club and look at the Players you've got and what Strengths they've got and you build a System around those Strengths , You have to Toughen Up You can't be Nice or You're Not Going To Survive. Make Notts your Team Not Luke Williams team. Again I'm Para Phrasing. Make your own decisions don't let the Recruitment team Do It For You. Build your Team your System make Poor Players Average make Average Players Good and Good Players Great. Success is 95% Man Management. Always have a Good Goal Keeper improve them first. Always have a Team Leader on the Pitch. It's these sort ideas and Experience from the likes of Neil and Big Sam that would make either of them an ideal Director of Football at Meadow Lane., and help Stuart Maynard to become a Better Head Coach. Both these Gentlemen lamented the fact that Young Managers nowadays can only play Tippy Tappy Football something described by Big Sam as the Worst Most Boring Type of Football. Despite the fact that these two great Notts Legends and the success they brought this Club and others they've managed are Now Considered Footballing Dinosaurs. And yet David Moyes at West Ham who is also placed in the Dinosaur Bracket, currently the Hammers are 8th in the Premiership, he taken West Ham into Europe for the past 3 seasons and they won their first Trophy in 43 years under Moyes tenure and yet still some Hammers Fans want him gone, because of his Footballing Style. Huddersfield Sacked Neil Warnock and look where they are Now on the verge of Relegation and many Terriers Fans are saying they shouldn't have Sacked Warnock. So maybe Footballing Dinosaurs are Not Quite Extinct Yet.
  22. This young lady goes to a Tattooists and tells him My soon to be husband is really into Tattoos and as a surprise on our wedding night I want a Tattoo to show him. Ok says the Tattooist What were you thinking of doing? I'd like you to tattoo a little Butterfly on each of my Bum Cheeks. Sorry says the Tattooist I can't Tattoo Butterflies there the worst thing to Tattoo. I can do a you a Bee I'm World Famous for me Bees. Well I really wanted Butterflies, but if you can't do them I'll have a Bee on each cheek. So she has a Bee Tattooed on each cheek of her Bum. Anyway on her Wedding Night she comes out of the bathroom, turns her back on her husband, lifts the her nightie bends over and says Well What Do You Think? Her new husband looks and says Who The Hell's BOB ?
  23. Weather Forest should or Shouldn't have made this Statement, You can Understand their point. 3 penalty decisions go against them and the Guy in charge of a the VAR is a Luton Fan, who are just one point behind them in a fight for Premier league Survival Stuart Atwell should have been replaced for this match. The Forest remarks will as it's been said will probably result in a huge fine, and may also have some effect on their points deduction appeal. Forest should have let the matter calm down because what was said was clearly done in the Heat of the Moment the Curse of Social Media raising it's Ugly Head. If Forest had let things Cool Down they could have put out a more diplomatic response later on this Evening. And the person who released the Statement will find themselves in Hot Water with the Club or in Fact they'll Get Sacked.
  24. I think this can be summed up in one sentence to the EFL YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING.
  25. Great win for the Rams yesterday. One more point and their back in the Championship. Don't bother with a draw Go for a Win and make sure. Come On Derby.
