  1. My Mate's daughter and Son in law took him to a Garden Centre the other week he was looking around when he was approached by a youth who worked there. Can I help you Sir? Yes replied my Mate I'd like to buy a Garden. We don't sell Gardens Sir only things that go in a Garden. Oh in that case, I'd like to buy a Path said my Mate.
  2. I guess I'll just have to Agree to Disagree with you Robbie. Maynard still could have played Macca and Cedwyn up front from the off even if Ceds had only lasted till half time. Jodi was kept very quiet today he didn't play to his usual high standard, the Colchester defender on his side didn't give him anything. Ashby-Hammond almost cost Notts a goal with his wondering out of his 18 yard box, the Colchester player almost chipped him but his shot hit the woodwork. If it was Jim's last game at Meadow Lane he certainly went out like A Warrior, if only he was 5 or so years younger. He needs to be kept at the Lane in some sort of capacity next season. Dan Crowley was outstanding again and Macca well he was just Macca, he came up with the Goal to break the Stalemate and was unlucky not to score more. Despite the recent Results there still needs to be Massive Changes at Notts in the off Season. An interesting quote from the Forest Green Owner when asked about their two successive Relegations he honestly stated Our Recruitment over the last two seasons has been Abysmal. So lets hope Montague and his team get things Right. The first couple of months next season should be enough time to tell if Stuart Maynard is the Man for the Job at Notts.
  3. True Story Back in the 1960's there was a Cooking programme on the BBC which featured the Cook Fanny Cradock and her husband Johnny. Each week Fanny would cook something and at the end of the live TV show a chap would come on and ask views if they would like the Recipe for that weeks meal here is the address they needed to write too. One week Fanny cooked doughnuts and at the end off the show the Guy came on and said If you want your Doughnut's to be like Fanny's...... I would have liked to have seen them.
  4. I sometimes Despair regarding Stuart Maynard he brings on Cedwyn Scott and who does he replace Macca Langstaff. Unbelievable this match could well have been the Last Time Ceds and Macca play together at the Lane. And Maynard pulls a Stunt like that in fact he could have started them both up Front instead of leaving Macca as the lone Striker. Maynard Really Does Not Have A Clue At Times. And wonders why the Fans Criticise him. The Magpies ended their season on home soil will a Win, but it was as Boring as Hell now on to Forest Green. I also thought the Ref was awful again today.
  5. Strange as it may seem Danny Cowley might be the one to swing things Colchester's way. He has a lot more Coaching Experience than Stuart Maynard and he'll have his Team Fired up and they'll know if they Win down the Lane they'll be safe and Sutton will go down ( I still think Sutton will go down what ever tomorrows result is). Maynard is going to have to match Cowley and get the Magpies Fired up to Win their last match at Home for 2023/2024 season. Because if they don't Win, following the Stockport disaster on Tuesday an awful Lot of Notts Fans are going to carry a lot of Negative feelings into and over the off season and Stuart Maynard is going to get a Huge amount of Bad Press on Social Media Platforms.
  6. While visiting a friend in Hospital a man in his pyjamas ran past me, followed by a Nurse carrying a large saucepan full of boiling water. When a Doctor shouted No Nurse I said prick his boil. Then there was the time I was messing about on the river on a friends narrow boat, when I heard a chap in a rowing boat screamed at his wife Martha I said grab hold of the Rowlocks. I once walked past this factory which had a big sign outside which said Murphy's Tool Works. I thought so does mine, but I don't Go around bragging about it.
  7. I think there will be Fan Groups and Clubs Nationwide fighting against this but will it be enough to make the FA back down? As you've said Robbie regarding the Championship League1 and the cash cows of League 2 their Silence is Deafening.
  8. Robbie You're 100% right there will be a Major Split within the National Games and I think you've hit the nail on the head regarding a European Super League, the FA don't give two figs about Clubs outside the Premier League. And Manchester City Manchester United Liverpool Arsenal Tottenham and Chelsea will join a European Super League and the entrance to which will be based on how much a Club has in it's Bank account rather than it's Football prowess. And Fan objection will be pushed to one side.
  9. Robbie Have you read the fa's response? Dangerous Sausage as posted on the FA Cup Replays To Be Scrapped. It would seem that they are determined to Go Ahead with Stupid plan, so Now Is The Time to start to fight back. If Notts County were to decided to Boycott the FA Cup because of this Ridiculous Decision I for One Would Fully Support the Club.
  10. Just read Notts statement regarding the fa's FA Cup replays stance. Myself along with all other Magpie Fans ( I am sure) applaud the Club's declaration on the issue.
  11. Now that's One Hell Of A Good Idea DangerousSausage all Clubs outside of the Premier League Boycott the FA Cup. I'm sure Fans from other clubs would back the Idea like Fans did regarding the European Super League. As it's been said Football Is For The Fans. Start letting the fa get away with moves like this and what will happen in the Future? The fa in it's present Structure needs to be totally dismantled then reassembled with people at the top who have the Fans interests at heart because We are the life Blood of the Sport and without Us The FA and the EFL and the Richest Clubs in the Premier Are NOTHING.
  12. I left my job at the helium gas Factory. I will not be Spoken to in that Tone. Is my wife disappointed with my body. A Small part of me says Yes. While working at Waterstones a man came in, and asked Do you have an audio book with subtitles. I thought hold on a minute that's a book. Then there was the Guy who crossed a sheep with a Kangaroo and got a Wooley jumper.
  13. Full agreement with you Robbie. So if the attendees and questions are going to be Strictly Controlled, What Is The Point Of Even Having A "Fans Forum?" With the Club holding these meetings they're trying to give the impression they're connecting with the Fans when they're actually not. And as you say the People at the Club should take a leaf out of the Pride Of Nottingham Community and have Frank and Open Discussion about Fans real concerns. Perhaps you and Chris can get yourselves invited and take questions from PON members to ask on the Evening? Even better why not ask for questions from PON Members get them to send their questions, put them up on the Site and say this is what we going to ask Joe Palmer and he can record his answers and PON can play his recorded answers on here along with the answers also written down. That way questions that matter will be asked on our behalf do you think our C.E.O would be up for this?
  14. It's an APPALLING Idea. Just imagine Notts get Drawn away to a team in either the Championship or even a Premier League side and they put in a fighting performance and get a Draw, now they bring that team back to the Lane even if they lose the replay the Financial rewards for the club would help swell the Clubs coffers. The type of money that would generate for a team say in the National League could be a life line for that Club Financially. It could help Clubs in some cases fight off the threat of going out of business, or at least put them on a more secure financial footing. Once Again the FA Show how out of touch they are with the Real World and how they Don't Give A Toss about Clubs outside the Premiership.
  15. Robbie While I fully agree that the Financial Stability of the Club is Paramount the New Fans whom the Magpies have attracted are used to success and if Notts don't deliver then those Fickle Fans will start to drift away, especially if Forest survive relegation and start to have some form of success in the Premiership, or even if they are Relegated to the Championship if they keep winning games and start challenging for a return to the Premier League some Fans will make their way to watch their Football over the Trent. The thing is Do Notts have a Fanbase Big Enough to support all the projects being proposed both on and off the Pitch? How many Fans would sooner have money spent on Players than a Paddle Centre or even the Nest? I think Joe Palmer is hoping for a massive turn out at the Nest, when the Euro's start, but will the Fan Zone's success run along side that of the England Team? Plus I don't think fans will be to bothered about watching England's group games at the Nest, when you can go and buy a few Beers a few nibbles and watch those games on your own large Flat Screened TV with a couple of mates in the comfort of your own home. Should the Three Lions get to the Quarter or Semi Finals then there may be a chance filling the Nest otherwise once England are Knocked Out there wont be many Fans going to the Nest to watch the Final (if England don't get there) when they can watch the game on their own TV. And the Euro's don't come around every year. I honestly can't see the place being Packed Out To Watch The Darts. You see None of these Questions were asked No Worries the Fans may have regarding different projects were answered, Such as how the Nest is going to financially support it's self? And as you yourself asked what about repairs to the Concourse? And simple things how about Hot Water in the Gents and hand dryers that work properly? Standing room at the Lane was touched on briefly and dismissed almost as quickly, if it's Not going to Happen then say so .Apart from a couple of things personally I thought the whole Pod Cast was a waste of time. It should have been fans asking direct one to one questions and getting one to one answers. Will the Fan forum at the end of the season be any better? Doubtful the last one most of the time was taken up with Luke Williams answering why Notts took short corners. What is really needed is a question time were things get down to the Nitty Gritty and Hard and awkward Questions are asked and Answered. But that Ain't Gonna Happen. So is there any point to these Forums?
  16. Another interesting point raised which (to me) seem a trifle Strange. Because of the "Model" Notts are Stuck with Stuart Maynard, while it was admitted that the Three Managers who achieved Promotion this season Challenor Parkinson and Clough are all Managers/Head Coaches with League Football Experience and get their team to play in a Different Winning way to that of Notts, it would seem the Magpies will remain playing their Tippy Tappy Football Because of the "Model" and it came across that No Matter What , Notts are going to Stick to this Game Plan. Paul also spoke of Stuart Maynard's Win Loss record and to spread this Result Ratio over a Season, Notts will End Up with 41 points and be Relegated. And who exactly runs the team? Maynard or Montague? It came across to me it's Montague he signs the players and it's left to Maynard to integrate them into the team's style of play. Another point which came up was that successful teams buy top players which cost money and it would seem Notts are going to try and match those Clubs but Do It On The Cheap. While I understand Notts need to keep a tight reign on their Finances Fans are going to demand success now that they've tasted it under Luke Williams and if they don't get it ticket sales are going to drop and things outside of playing football I.E The Nest will also end up losing money. It was also stated that the long term Goal (excuse the Pun) was Notts getting into the Championship. So if it takes the Magpies every four years to get promoted then they should be a member of the Championship at the start of the 2032/2033 season. That is of course they're not Relegated and everything goes according to plan.
  17. Having put aside the chance to repair more wheelbarrows and listened to the Pod Cast I am in full agreement with what Robbie has said. There wasn't much extra to know what hasn't been already said in announcements from the Club. In Paul's opening where he said it's not going to be a Direct Question and Answer Question session. With the Greatest of Respect that is what was needed it was just Stal and Paul going over the same ground again with their Questions. The only thing I took from it is the Price of season tickets are going up to be level with the League 2 average and Not under the League's average as it is at the moment. Which means that Notts Fans could be in for a Large hike in the prices of their season Tickets. Paul was asked by Joe if he would be Happy to pay more money, for his season ticket to which he replied Yes, what answer do you think he'd get if Joe asked the average Fan? Paul admitted that he's got extra money in his pocket, thing is Paul a lot of Notts Fans Haven't, and any significant increase in Season Tickets will result in Families watching their Budgets and if it becomes a Toss Up between Paying your Bills or watching Notts you know what's going to take Priority. For example season tickets for Me My wife and two Sons takes a large Chunk out of our Family Budget so an big increase will probably mean No Ticket for the wife and I'll have to Pick and Choose the matches I go and watch. And there will be a Few Fans in the same Boat. If you go and read the comments under the Pod Cast, there's a question on there which says I don't like the way we play, shall I renew my season ticket? Those are the sort of Questions that should have been asked. A few PON members had the type of Questions that need answering basically the Pod Cast didn't really ask anything New, and I certainly wasn't bothered about how long Richard Montague had known and had been working for the Brothers or which teams Joe Palmer's has worked for before he became Notts C.E.O. Further Richard Montague stated he was aware of the weakness of the Defence and in his next breath said Recruitment won't be on any Specific Areas??? So Much For Nothing Is Off The Table.
  18. Two lawyers I know, one is Pro Bono while the other thinks he's a proper idiot. I once met the Edge at an airport and after he'd signed my autograph book and had his picture taken with me I said It was nice to meet you he replied Yeah You Too. I went to the Doctors for an examination, he told me Don't eat anything Fatty. What like Chips Bacon Crisps? No he said don't eat Anything Fatty. Did you hear about the Cow which jumped over a Barb Wire Fence? It was Udder destruction.
  19. On the Recruitment 's team's Minus side Warner Colkett Morias Stone and Randall. Swings and Roundabouts. Stuart Maynard says he knows where the Squad needs strengthening lets hope he'll be allowed to Express his wishes and his ideas aren't brushed to one side by the Recruitment team. Also let's hope Montague and his minions don't go about signing players Willy Nilly just to increase the Notts Squad Size just for the Sheer Hell of it. Mind you I don't think that will happen because the Brothers do have a Strong Grip on the Clubs Financial Circumstances.
  20. I can't see Maynard dropping Langstaff. All Hell would break loose if the top scorer in League 2 is missing from the Line up and he wasn't injured. It would be nice to see Macca and Cedwyn line up together one last time at the Lane. I'm sure AJ would understand (even if he's fit). Realistically it depends on which Notts Team turns up, if it's the Great we'll soon be on our summer break and we can't be bothered team then I'll think the Magpies will Struggle. If the Players come Out with the let's Put On A Show attitude as a Massive Thankyou to the Fans for their Loyalty then Notts should Batter Colchester.
  21. I Really Hope So Fan of Big Tone. My dear Old Dad used to be a Season Ticket Holder at Pride Park, he even went to watch the Rams away from home when he was in his Eighties and I still keep an eye out for the Rams Results. Come on Derby one last Push.
  22. And how would you Rate our Manager? How many more times is he going to play Jodi on the Wrong Side? Still I suppose it don't really matter as another Club will come in for the League 2 Player Of The Year. Play him in his best position and he'll get 20+ assists for a Team higher up the Football Pyramid, you know a Coach who plays him in his Best Position.
  23. Well lets see Colchester need one more Win to secure their League 2 Status. So who's going to be more Up For It, come 3'oclock Saturday? Notts 1 Colchester 2.
  24. Ah Robbie I Admire Your Belief and Positivity, but even you admit the Notts Defence is A Total Shambles. IF is a little Word with a Big Meaning. If Macca hadn't Scuffed his chance early Doors, I don't think it would have mattered even if he had scored, Stockport had the Bit between their teeth and there was only one side who was going to Win Last Night. If Notts had a better defence the Magpies could have been challenging for automatic or at least a chance of promotion via the playoffs. If Notts had a better Man in charge of Recruitment the Magpies wouldn't be floundering, in the bottom half of League 2. If Stuart Maynard had Football League Experience maybe he would have hit the ground Running at the Lane, which was needed after LW departure. IF IF IF, I could go on about such things as Bad Officials etc etc. I can't be Positive about next season, Not until I see the Recruitment and see Stuart Maynard's approach to Notts playing style, because if he continues with this Tippy Tappy slow side to side the back to the Keeper again type of Football then the Magpies Are Going To Struggle.
  25. That's just it Robbie WE Fans know what the Problems Are, however it seems the Head of Recruitment and his Team DO NOT. Their Poor judgement in the signing of players hasn't helped the Notts Cause. Nor That of Stuart Maynard. In fact if Montague had a job outside of Notts he'd had been SACKED a Long Time Ago. Yes the Magpies do have a thin Squad but they didn't when they played Sutton and they Got 9 Goals put past them over two games, by a Team who is on the Verge of being Relegated back to the National League. Piethagoram not only Hartlepool you only need to Look at Forest Green League 1 relegated ( the Grass isn't always Greener on the other side Eh Mr Burchnall) League 2 Relegated, and an unknown future. And your So Right About the Notts Defence. Fozzy I'm with you regarding Paul Mace and Stal grilling Montague, but as it's been talked about on this Site, it Ain't Gonna Happen. But if anyone from that Podcast come and read our Comments on PON, They have my Full Permission to use any of my Questions or Quotes I have placed on this Site. And Finally (hooray I hear you cheer) there are Two Guys who run a very Popular You tube Channel on Notts. They said Notts have Nothing To Play For. Guys you're so Wrong. Notts Have Hell Of A Lot To Play For. 1 Pride 2 The Shirt and Most Important Us The Fans, who turn up week in and week out and spend our Hard Earned Cash on Season Tickets Notts Shirts and going to Away Games.
