  1. My son is a friend of a linesman who was in attendance at the recent Gillingham match when Slocombe was struck by an object thrown from the crowd. Apparently the ref was talking on the comms and said he was going to book Slocombe for time wasting until he went over and saw blood on his head, it was a lighter that struck him and caused a gash. The linesman said there were police in the dressing rooms after the match. I assume Gillingham will face some kind of punishment for this incident.
  2. The weekend looms as always it’s a football weekend but somehow this weekend seems more exciting with the visit of Wrexham our old enemy’s from last season. Let’s hope it’s a celebratory weekend. Sadly I won’t be attending but happily I will be travelling to Durham today for a weeks holiday with the family, our son has booked a lovely cottage for all six of us so I’m looking forward to it. Of course Mrs. T will be cooking one of her famous home made curries for us all tonight. Chicken Passanda, lovely. Whats everyone else up to?
  3. Sunderland 3-1 Norwich City Watford 0-2 Millwall Blackpool 1-1 Peterborough United Cambridge United 0-0 Carlisle United Barrow 0-2 Salford City (joker) Morecambe 2-1 AFC Wimbledon Ebbsfleet United 0-3 Dagenham & Redbridge Oldham Athletic 2-1 Altrincham
  4. You are far too good (or lucky) at this @Chris I thought todays was particularly hard. I feel your pain @super_ram
  5. “Nobody from Notts County will have watched this until the end to hear me call them Snotts County”, WELL I DID! ???? Interesting chat between a regular fan from Wrexham and a new fan from the US. The yank seemed obsessed with how Nottingham got its name from the Snots.
  6. Wordle 859 6/6* ????????⬜⬜⬜ ????????⬜⬜???? ????????⬜⬜???? ????????⬜⬜???? ????????⬜⬜???? ???????????????????? So many options but kept choosing the wrong one until the very last go.
  7. It’s ironic that for the Newport match we had a make shift back line and kept a clean sheet, however I do think Williams should revert to his strongest team possible for the Wrexham game because they will be a different kettle of fish to Newport. It will be a tough game because as we know Wrexham are a very good team but if Notts play as well as we know they can for 90+ minutes there’s no reason why we can’t take all three points but if we can’t win then it’s important we don’t lose.
  8. It’ll be all that candy floss you’re eating, not good for the brain.
  9. Next up for Notts is the visit of Wrexham, how many link between the two sides can we find. The first name that sprang to my mind was Kevin (Rooster) Russell, who had two spells with Wrexham and a short spell with Notts in 1995, he only played 11 games for us so it’s strange I remembered him. Any more anyone?
  10. Wordle 858 4/6* ⬜⬜⬜⬜???? ????????⬜⬜???? ????⬜???????????? ???????????????????? Standard 4 today
  11. A very good 3-0 win, goals from Crowley and 2 from Langstaff, Jodi Jones got a well deserved MoM award from the sponsors and I entirely agree with them he played a huge part in all three goals. Special mention for Lewis Macari who had a faultless performance in the back three. Notts were missing key players Bostock, McGoldrick and Cameron so this made the win even more pleasing. Just over 8,000 fans at the match.
  12. Thanks for starting this @Piethagoram I’d completely forgot, don’t tell the gaffer he’ll sack me. I’ll add David Pipe to the list a very popular player for both clubs.
  13. So far so good, Notts winning 2-0 at half time goals from Crowley and Langstaff both after brilliant work by Jody Jones who is man of the match so far. Morias has had two really good chances but put both over the bar.
  14. Well done @Chris you’re showing your dad up.
  15. Wordle 857 3/6* ????⬜⬜⬜⬜ ????⬜⬜???????? ???????????????????? Same here @Piethagoram
  16. yes one for the future maybe.
  17. Thanks @DangerousSausage that’s really interesting, it’s strange how these words come about.
  18. Wordle 856 3/6* ????⬜????⬜⬜ ????????????⬜⬜ ???????????????????? After getting the letters in the second row I had to do a lot of head scratching but in the end there was only one word it could be.
  19. Huddersfield Town 0-2 Cardiff City Swansea City 2-1 Watford Lincoln City 3-1 Charlton Athletic Northampton Town 0-1 Leyton Orient AFC Wimbledon 2-2 Accrington Stanley Crewe Alexandra 1-1 Stockport County (joker) Dagenham & Redbridge 0-3 Boreham Wood Eastleigh 1-0 Woking
  20. How many on here are old enough to remember when we used to call Notts "the Maggies"? People used to say "are you going down to see the Maggies tonight?", I wonder when it changed to "The Pies", I can't remember suddenly one day starting saying "Come on you Pies", it must have been a gradual thing I suppose. I don't think we said "Come on you Maggies", it was more "Up the Maggies" and before that "Up the Magpies". I suppose "Come on You Maggies" or "Come on you Magpies" is a bit long winded hence shortened to Pies. A common chant in the days of wooden rattles was 2-4-6-8 who do we appreciate C_O_U_N_T_Y, COUNTY! Anyone else remember those days?
  21. Cameron and McGoldrick both picked up a 5th yellow card in the Gillingham game which means they’ll be suspended, Bostock is also very doubtful so we are looking a bit thin on the ground. ☹️
  22. Oy! you’re on holiday, get on that beach with your bucket and spade. ????
  23. Wordle 855 5/6* ⬜⬜????⬜⬜ ⬜????????⬜⬜ ⬜????⬜???????? ????????⬜???????? ???????????????????? A bit of a struggle today.
  24. Well done Notts the perfect reply to the naysayers and doom merchants.
