The incident at the Gillingham match
My son is a friend of a linesman who was in attendance at the recent Gillingham match when Slocombe was struck by an object thrown from the crowd. Apparently the ref was talking on the comms and said he was going to book Slocombe for time wasting until he went over and saw blood on his head, it was a lighter that struck him and caused a gash. The linesman said there were police in the dressing rooms after the match. I assume Gillingham will face some kind of punishment for this incident.

Weekend plans - Friday 27th - Sunday 29th October
The weekend looms as always it’s a football weekend but somehow this weekend seems more exciting with the visit of Wrexham our old enemy’s from last season. Let’s hope it’s a celebratory weekend. Sadly I won’t be attending but happily I will be travelling to Durham today for a weeks holiday with the family, our son has booked a lovely cottage for all six of us so I’m looking forward to it. Of course Mrs. T will be cooking one of her famous home made curries for us all tonight. Chicken Passanda, lovely. Whats everyone else up to?

Match Discussion: Game 16 - Red Dragons (H)
“Nobody from Notts County will have watched this until the end to hear me call them Snotts County”, WELL I DID! ???? Interesting chat between a regular fan from Wrexham and a new fan from the US. The yank seemed obsessed with how Nottingham got its name from the Snots.

Match Discussion: Game 16 - Red Dragons (H)
It’s ironic that for the Newport match we had a make shift back line and kept a clean sheet, however I do think Williams should revert to his strongest team possible for the Wrexham game because they will be a different kettle of fish to Newport. It will be a tough game because as we know Wrexham are a very good team but if Notts play as well as we know they can for 90+ minutes there’s no reason why we can’t take all three points but if we can’t win then it’s important we don’t lose.

MAGnet Links - Wrexham
Next up for Notts is the visit of Wrexham, how many link between the two sides can we find. The first name that sprang to my mind was Kevin (Rooster) Russell, who had two spells with Wrexham and a short spell with Notts in 1995, he only played 11 games for us so it’s strange I remembered him. Any more anyone?

Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Exiles (H)
A very good 3-0 win, goals from Crowley and 2 from Langstaff, Jodi Jones got a well deserved MoM award from the sponsors and I entirely agree with them he played a huge part in all three goals. Special mention for Lewis Macari who had a faultless performance in the back three. Notts were missing key players Bostock, McGoldrick and Cameron so this made the win even more pleasing. Just over 8,000 fans at the match.

Thanks for starting this @Piethagoram I’d completely forgot, don’t tell the gaffer he’ll sack me. I’ll add David Pipe to the list a very popular player for both clubs.

Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Exiles (H)
So far so good, Notts winning 2-0 at half time goals from Crowley and Langstaff both after brilliant work by Jody Jones who is man of the match so far. Morias has had two really good chances but put both over the bar.

Magpies - Maggies - Pies
How many on here are old enough to remember when we used to call Notts "the Maggies"? People used to say "are you going down to see the Maggies tonight?", I wonder when it changed to "The Pies", I can't remember suddenly one day starting saying "Come on you Pies", it must have been a gradual thing I suppose. I don't think we said "Come on you Maggies", it was more "Up the Maggies" and before that "Up the Magpies". I suppose "Come on You Maggies" or "Come on you Magpies" is a bit long winded hence shortened to Pies. A common chant in the days of wooden rattles was 2-4-6-8 who do we appreciate C_O_U_N_T_Y, COUNTY! Anyone else remember those days?

Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Exiles (H)
Cameron and McGoldrick both picked up a 5th yellow card in the Gillingham game which means they’ll be suspended, Bostock is also very doubtful so we are looking a bit thin on the ground. ☹️
