Fan of Big Tone

Did anyone else buy a match pass for the Morecambe game last night. I thought it was quite good for a tenner but on the downside the commentary was from Morecambe’s local radio, yet I thought it would be Radio Nottingham, is there a way to switch the commentary does anyone know.

Surely the other way round @liampie, if we had played poorly it would be a point gained but because we played well it’s 2 points dropped in my opinion. Morecambe packed the midfield and Notts found it difficult to break them down or find that incisive pass that would open up an opportunity, on the rare occasion we did find it the finish wasn’t good enough to score. There was a lot of sideways and backwards passing on the halfway line waiting for an opening. However on the positive side a clean sheet is most welcome and it’s still early days the team is still learning how to play against better opposition, I’m not unhappy with the season so far, apart from the first game.

Yes it worked quite well, we just need more people supporting it, otherwise it can seem you’re in there talking to yourself.

One point gained or two points dropped, what do you think folks?

A lot better second half, we’ve upped the tempo and are looking more likely to score.

Half time, I’m watching the stream, we’ve had loads of possession but mainly passing it around on the half way line, it’s almost if we’d come for a draw, they need to up the tempo and get into the Morecambe half more and create some chances.

Two good chances from Langstaff and Jones and now another shot off target fro McGoldrick.

Good chance that, he should have scored.

Lots of possession early on.

Come on Notts, we can do this.

Our third goal was my favourite what great work by Jodie Jones, the cross was perfect and the diving header from Crowley was timed to perfection.

Yes I saw the show and thought exactly the same thing I just hope the refs are consistent on this and other rules changes they’ve brought in, it’s time the players learned who is in charge of a football match and start to accept the refs decision whether they feel it’s wrong or not.

Does anyone else get frustrated by our corners? There was more than one occasion when we had a corner, we took it short and the all ended up back with Stone who booted it and we lost possession. I get the argument that more goals are scored from open play so we take a short corner but isn’t it also a great opportunity to get the ball in the box with a direct corner especially with McGoldrick lurking. Other than that it was a great game some of the crosses into the box were fantastic and the third goal was sublime what a great cross from Jodie Jones and superb finish from Crowley, he’s only little and quite lightweight but my goodness he’s becoming one of my favourite players, a great signing in my opinion.

Notts travel to Morecambe on Tuesday, how many links can we find between the two clubs. Whenever I think of Morecambe I think of Sol Campbell and his first and last game for Notts but I digress. A proper link would be Mark Quayle who played for Notts 1998-2000 before moving to Morecambe. How many more links can we find?

I felt very lethargic today so we didn’t do much, we had our usual little local walk, then I did a bit more of my jigsaw which has a lot of sky and a lot of sea so it’s particularly hard. At tea time watched Match of the Day from last night and later we watched another couple of episodes of the Spy Amongst Friends series about Kim Philby who defected to Russia in the 60s.
