That’s exactly what I thought @Chris I suspect clubs have been sniffing around testing the water, so the club have made sure that if he does go we will get a good fee for him.

I wish I’d done that @cheeky~k8 but I wanted the shirts before our grandchildren went on holiday and as there were no matches I paid for postage as I didn’t want an 12 mile drive to the ground. I’m getting really annoyed now they still haven’t come, I’m being fobbed off when I can actually get to speak to someone on the phone. I was told last Wednesday that they’d all been despatched then yesterday a young sounding girl on her own in the shop said she was despatching the last ones then. She couldn’t access the computer to see if my order had even been completed, it’s a complete shambles. They’ve taken £90 of my money and I’ve got nothing, the grandchildren were disappointed to say the least because I’d promised them theyd have the shirts before they went.

I think the first games are guess work for a lot of people because you don’t know how good teams are until a few games in when the table starts to take shape.

I saw some of these new rules being implemented on Friday night in the Championship game between Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton and I agree with it, the only concern I have is the problem of not knowing when the match will end with all the time being added on, I can imagine a cold November night a 0-0 bore draw at 90 minutes and the ref makes us suffer another 10 minutes extra time. I also noted that when players go off injured they have to wait 30 seconds before being allowed back on by the ref, that’s a long time to be down to 10 men if you’re desperately defending.

Next match up is the ELF Cup on Tuesday when Notts take on Lincoln City in the cup at Meadow Lane. How many links can we find between the two clubs. I’ve got an obscure one for you Bert Loxley who I can just about remember playing for Notts between 1952 (the year I was born) and 1964, twelve years making 245 appearances, he became Lincoln’s manager in 1970-71.

I didn’t get out for a walk yesterday at all with the heavy rain and then listening to the match so my step count was really low, below 2,000! However I did half an hour on our cross trainer which made me quite sweaty so that was better than nothing. We also have an exercise bike and rowing machine but they make my bum ache so I prefer the cross trainer.

Judging by our performance against Sutton, on paper this game looks very difficult, however I hope that Notts will want to put things right and give a good performance. If I was Williams I would put the same team out and tell them to show a reaction to todays heavy defeat.

I don’t think any one imagined that result in their worst nightmares. I just hope it doesn’t knock the teams confidence going forward. It’s a long season and this was only the first game. Feel sorry for the travelling fans.
