Weekend Plans Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd July
Since it’s been awful weather today I have only been out for a short walk, I did a bit more of the jigsaw my daughter in law gave me then I watched a recording of the Lionesses match before tea. The rest of the evening we watched the telly. Hopefully tomorrow will be better weather. ????

Lionesses
I recorded the match and managed to avoid the result so I sort of watched it live, I thought it was a good game and but for some poor finishing it could have been quite high scoring. Both teams had good chances and the goalkeepers did well.

Gateshead friendly incident
I’m not sure what this was all about but thank goodness these people weren’t terrorists.

The cost of spending a penny
In the olden days when @super_ram and myself were alive, it used to cost one penny to use a public toilet, in fact @super_ram can probably remember when it was a groat! This last week whilst on holiday in Scarborough me and my wife wanted to use the toilet and it was 40p each! That’s 8 shilling to us old farts.

Weekend Plans Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd July
Yes you’re right @Joshua the forecast isn’t looking very good, I was going to do a park run tomorrow but I’m not keen to get wet through running, I’ve just messaged my son to tell him I’m not going and he was really glad because he didn’t fancy it either. I’ll have to get on the exercise bike instead.

Close season reflections and pre-season anticipation
I’ve spent the close season mainly taking my wife to various hospital and doctors appointments which is not quite the same as the holiday in Corfu we had planned. However we’ve had some nice days out and just got back from a short holiday in Yorkshire. Really looking forward to the new season back in the league it’s been a long time, I’m hoping to get to as many home matches as I can with at least one of my grandsons.

Wordle 762 4/6 ⬜⬜????⬜???? ⬜????????⬜???? ⬜???????????????? ???????????????????? I seem to get more 4’s than anything else.- Weekend Plans Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd July
Good morning everyone, I hope we are all well and looking forward to the weekend. I guess schools and colleges will be breaking up for the summer and those of you that work will be looking forward to a weekend off. Let us know what plans you have this weekend or if you’re reading this late what have you been doing? Today we are driving home after our week away in Sewerby Yorkshire, we’ve had a great time and managed to dodge most of the showers. We are looking forward to getting back to see family and grandchildren this weekend. What are your plans?- Match Discussion: PSF - The Pilgrims (A)
It should be a good match, if Williams puts out a strongish team we should run out easy winners (famous last words).- Oldham v Chesterfield
I personally hope Chesterfield go up, I have friends who are Chesterfield fans, it’d be great for Notts, Chesterfield and Mansfield in the same league, assuming Notts don’t go up to league one of course.- Welcome NewarkMagpie
Welcome from me too @NewarkMagpie do you know @Newarknotts or @NewarkPie? It seems we have a good fan base in Newark.- MAGnets links - Boston United
Your memory is better than mine @TheSkipper I have to google most things these days. It’s better than the old days before the internet when I had to go to the library. ????- Welcome Nay123
Welcome to our friendly community @Nay123 it’s good to have you here.- Charlie Slater moves on
He has done the odd game for them before, he’s also done regular tv work on BBC East Midlands today, I watch it most nights and he’s regularly on there with various sporting features.- Charlie Slater moves on
Don’t get me wrong, it is very disappointing, there’s no one more disappointed than me, Charlie is great to listen to but I guess it’s like having a really talented player playing for Notts (E.g. Jack Grealish) we wouldn’t have wanted him to stay at Notts out of loyalty it would have been unfair to stand in his way. Who knows what offer Charlie has had and where he will go next. I think we were spoilt with Colin Slater who showed loyalty to the extreme as we know he was Notts commentator for many years, I reckon Colin would have been the first to wish him well, Charlie was never going to emulate the great man for his many years with Notts. Good luck to him I think we should thank him for the time he had with us and wish him well.- Charlie Slater moves on
@KingWilliams I don’t think you can criticise him for being ambitious, he is young and wants to get on in the media world, if he stopped with Notts he isn’t going anywhere i we are honest.- Wordle
I think yesterday was a thought transfer from Mrs. T, she got it in two as well. Today it took 4 attempts. Wordle 761 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜????⬜⬜⬜ ⬜????????????⬜ ????????????????????- Chicksen thoughts on efl2
I’m not sure what IQ has to do with it I think you can be as thick as two short planks but be a brilliant footballer. However I know what he’s trying to say, Notts will indeed face greater challenges this season obviously because they have moved up a league. Having said that I don’t think the gulf is that great that Notts will struggle, we have an exceptional manager and a good squad.- MAGnets links - Boston United
On Saturday 22nd July Notts County travel to Boston to take on the Pilgrims. How many players, managers it coaches etc., can we name that are linked to both clubs? I’ll start off with two former Notts players who became managers with Boston. Arthur Mann managed Boston between 1984-1986 and he was succeeded by another former Notts player RayO’Brien who managed them between 1986-1987. - Wordle
