I heard a story where he took players on a “team building” trip to a ten pin bowling alley, he suggested before they started playing that it would be fun to put some money in a kitty and the winner would take the money, the players all agreed. They weren’t very happy when he opened his bag and he’d got his own bowling shoes and ball, it turned out he played in a league and wiped the floor with them and took the money.

Our cat never reacts like that when I’ve got football on. She does like snooker though.

@CliftonMagpie We had pork steaks, sausage and salad, normally Mrs. Tone would have a lager while we’re cooking and a glass of white wine to drink with her dinner but at the moment she can’t drink alcohol because of her medication so it’s J20 pomegranate spritz, I think that’s what it’s called. I make up for it and drink her share of alcohol.

Well said @Wilfordpie I assume you are from the same age as myself and have seen the lowest of lows and the highest of highs as far as supporting Notts is concerned. There is nothing to gain from getting on the players backs especially the younger squad members. If only these people would stop and think.

Exactly, those fans who were moaning yesterday should realise that pre season friendlies are not like competitive games they are a way for the coaches to assess the players and get them match ready. Luke admits that he never expected to win but if we had played at our best we wouldn’t have been beaten quite so comprehensively. He says we gifted two goals. Trust in Williams he knows what he’s doing.

There’s nothing wrong with the laptop apart from it’s obsolete now, I’ve taken everything off I want to and wiped the HD and it’s just kicking around I want to get rid of it. I think I’ll just take the hard drive out and smash it until it’s unusable.

I wasn’t there but I can imagine the PA system upsetting quite a few of the older generation in the Pavis stand, I wonder if they can have different volumes for different stands. They could turn it up full blast in the Sirrel stand to put the away supporters off. ????

@Chris reading the article I linked to you are in luck this is a quote from the article: “The partnership gives supporters the choice of some of the nation’s favourite beer and cider brands when they visit Meadow Lane, including Carling, Madri Excepcional and Sharp’s Cold River Cider.” I’m not sure any of those brands will be my favourite, I’d rather have Theakstones Old Peculier, Old Speckled Hen, Hobgoblin etc. but I’m sure the drinks on offer will please lots of supporters.

I didn’t go so can’t really comment except to say I was a little disappointed at the margin of the score, I assume Stoke fielded a very strong side? It’s a good test which will hopefully enable Luke Williams to identify shortcomings and rectify them.
