On Saturday 9th July Notts are playing Stoke City at Meadow Lane. Stoke have had many famous players over the years but how many players, managers or coaches can we name that have links with Notts County? Heres one to start you off, Dave Kevan played for Notts 1986 to 1990 making 89 appearances and scoring 3 goals, he also spent a spell as caretaker manager 2009-2010. How many more can we name? I used to work in Chesterfield in an office that had Spirerites, Stags, Owls, Rams, F*rest and Notts fans, you can imagine the banter that used to fly around, so I do follow all those results and look for them on a Saturday but I’m only a fan of Notts of course.

We’ve got a great squad with real competition for places which is obviously really good to keep the players who have the shirt at any one time performing to their peak because they know if they don’t perform there’s another great player chomping at the bit to take their place. Its also very important to have capable players in every department ready to step up in the event of injuries.

I agree, I don’t think we’ll see the likes of last season in the National league for a long long time. As an afterthought did anything ever get settled about 3 up three down to that league or was it just hogwash?

There’s definitely been an influx of people I’ve not seen before and lapsed members returning, it’s all very encouraging.

I can’t see it affecting PoN if people use the new platform there’s no reason why they won’t engage on PoN as well.

It’s being said that Oldham and Chesterfield will battle it out for National League title and it will be as gripping as the battle between Wrexham and Notts at the top. Thoughts?

Hang on I’ve just remembered my brother rang me on Tuesday to apologise for forgetting my birthday, bless him he’s getting on a bit now, we’ll into his 80s, it was quite a depressing phone call he was telling me all about the various ailments he and his wife suffer, he worried that his wife is slipping into dementia he has to put notes up in the house to remind her to switch things off etc., it’s very sad, they’ve spent their lives travelling the world, working in different countries, now they just sit at home watching tv and never go anywhere.

I honestly can’t remember doing anything special last week, I sometimes find it hard to remember what happened yesterday.
