I’m also really looking forward to the new season, every new season brings new hope and optimism but this season is special because we are back where we belong and with stable ownership and management who knows where it will take us.

I’m not sure what the fish are, our grandchildren caught some toddlers with nets in the canal years ago, we brought them home and put them in the pond, they are now really big, grey backs with red fins.

Well it’s 2-0 to the Aussies now, did anyone see the controversial stumping? The English batsman (cant remember who) was walking out of his crease after the over and was stumped, he obviously assumed the over was done. It wasn’t very sportsmanlike of the Aussies but within the rules. It even caused some booing from the members in the long room which apparently is unheard of it’s normally polite clapping. Oh dear I don’t know what my grandad would make of cricket these days it used to be a gentleman’s sport.

I cleaned out our garden pond today, it’s amazing how it gets overgrown with plants they seem to multiply all at once, the poor fish should have a bit more room to swim about now.

Being an ancient supporter of Notts I had the pleasure of seeing him play in the famous black and white stripes, he scored some great goals and I remember being sad when he was sold.

I totally agree with the changes, the keepers have gone too far of late, the taunting and delaying etc., is unsportsmanlike in my opinion, the penalty taker is under immense pressure as it is especially in important games and it’s unfair to add to that pressure. As far as the penalty taker having an advantage, well they should have an advantage because an offence has been committed.

Fantastic news, he made us sweat a bit but it’s worth the wait, I imagine he had other offers so it shows how far we’ve come with our new owners and Luke Williams in charge. We are on the up, watch out League 2!

@AmericanPie I’m really pleased to hear you are taking a vacation and that your medication is starting to work. My wife’s medication is also starting to work on her too, although she’s had to change some because of side effects, on Tuesday she is having a heart monitor fitted, then we are hoping to go away on a short break somewhere. Please do post some pictures we’d love to see them. @AmericanPie I’ve just googled the RV you mentioned, my goodness it’s a beast, I couldn’t see something like that driving down to Cornwall.

@Chris has asked me to resurrect this feature again, so I will do this for every game Notts play. On Tuesday 4th July, Notts start their pre season friendlies with a trip to play Nuneaton Borough. It may be quite tough to find a link but the idea is to try and think of as many players/managers/ coaches etc. that have played for both clubs (tea ladies don’t count) I’ll start you off with Duane Darby played for Notts 1998-2000 and Nuneaton Borough 2006-2007. Ok over to you who else has a MAGnet link to both clubs?
