  2. Has anyone used Uber Eats? Our son persuaded me to download the Uber app ages ago in case we wanted to use a taxi whilst we were abroad earlier in the year. We never actuall used it but they kept sending me emails with offers, one offer was for £10 off my first delivery of food with Uber eats, so last night I thought I’d try it with a delivery from the local curry house, I went on the app and ordered the food but it didn’t give me £10 off as promised and seemed expensive so I went on the restaurants own website and ordered through their delivery service and it was £8 cheaper than it would have been with Uber Eats! Don’t think I’ll be using that service any time soon. So if you are tempted by Uber Eats check out the normal delivery service first you might get it cheaper.
  3. Good morning and happy Saturday, there was no park run this morning which I was secretly pleased about as we have a bit of unpacking and various jobs to do. We had a nice curry from the local curry house last night because Mrs. T didn’t fancy cooking after the long journey home, but there was far too much so half has gone in the freezer to have another day. Today will be a day of catching up on jobs and relaxing if we can. Have a lovely day whatever you choose to do.
  4. I was really pleased to see Brown get on the score sheet, he’s had some stick from fans but he seems to be getting there now and showing he can be a valuable part of the squad.
  5. What a throw he has, blimey! It was also good to see Haydn Hollis in there doing his bit to put the goalie and defenders off.
  6. Two assists and two goals it’s got to be Brown for me.
  7. It’s a great result for Notts these matches have “banana skin” written all over them as Huddersfield found so well done Notts on a professional performance.

  11. Oooh, it seems I can upload pictures again, thanks @Chris Heres a few pics from our holiday.
  12. Good morning it’s Friday and the weekend starts here. It’s the last day of our holiday in Yorkshire we’ve had a great time with the family and been on some lovely country walks when we could prise the teenagers out of bed We’ll be heading home later today but sadly it’ll be too late to go to the match tonight so if you are going give them a cheer from me. Have a great day everyone.
  13. Good afternoon, it’s grey and drizzly here in Yorkshire. We’ve had a relaxing day, the rest of the family went to see a waterfall and a castle but we passed on that as it was a bit of an arduous climb and Mrs. T didn’t feel up to it so we stayed in town, had a pootle round the shops and a pint in a real ale pub. Tonight we are all going out for a family meal as it’s our last night here, we’ll head home tomorrow but too late to watch Notts play Alfreton sadly. Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.
  14. As I said before it’s pretty pointless debating these things, I have my opinion and you have yours neither of us will change our minds so I’ll leave it there, I just want to say the Labour Government isn’t perfect but it’s a damn site better than we’ve had for the last few years.
  15. @Robbie as I said pensioners like the ones you know who are struggling to make ends meet will get pension credit and still get help with heating bills. There are millions of pensioners who do not need the heating allowance, the cruise ships I sometimes holiday on are full of pensioners, all of whom were getting £300 to help their energy bills, one friend of ours called it his “wine fund” the Labour government have stopped that waste of public money whilst still ensuring the people who you mention still get help. There will be people like your mum and dad who scrimp and save to pay for private education but there are also lots who can afford to pay more and should do so in my opinion. Our boys went to state school and had a very good education both went on to get very good jobs. As I said those that can afford to shoulder the burden should do so, we have to rebuild the country and it’s going to hurt after years of neglect. By the way you were lucky to go on a foreign holiday at 14 I didn’t go abroad until I was married and then it was only camping in France, I didn’t go on a plane until I was over 60. My dad was a postman my mam was a home help and school dinner lady, we lived on Grainger Street off Meadow Lane in a two up two down rented house with outside toilet and no bathroom.
  16. Well we have moved on @Robbie but there’s no harm in reading or watching documentaries about this period in our history, I for one find it interesting.
  17. I sincerely hope Maynard puts out a strong team, we really could do with a decent cup run for a change.
  18. I really hope so, that’d be a great boost. ????
  19. It seems to me that in the main the budget is taking money from the people who are more able to shoulder the cost of years of neglect of the NHS, schools, road maintenance etc. People keep saying that they are hurting pensioners but the majority of pensioners are well off and those that aren’t get pension credit. I don’t need £300 to help with heating and I think if people were honest the majority would say they didn’t either. If that money helps the NHS, schools, mends pot holes etc then I’m all for it. They put 50% tax increase on private jets, good! People who can afford to send kids to private school will pay more, they can afford it. Just my two pennorth for what it’s worth I’m sure others will disagree no one’s mind will be changed by debating these things.

  23. Good morning, it’s a bit damp here where we are in Yorkshire on holiday, it’s only drizzle though so it won’t cramp our style. We had another nice walk yesterday around a ruined abbey and along a river with beautiful scenery, it was nice enough to have a picnic on a bench. Later we took our grandkids to Wetherspoons for a meal while their mum and dad had a posh 7 course taster meal at a French restaurant. We’re off to another beauty spot this afternoon for a walk.
