  1. @liampie I do feel a bit sad for younger fans like yourself who never had chance to watch some of the great legends of the past like Big Tone, Masson, Les Bradd, Tommy Johnson etc. etc. but thanks to articles and posts on here you can get a sense of how great they were and hopefully when old fogeys like me pass on to that great football stadium in the sky and you are an old fogey you’ll be telling stories of the great players you’ve seen pull on the black and white stripes.
  2. I sincerely hope we can keep Jones and Crowley and pleased we are rejecting bids that don’t meet our valuation but what happens if a bid comes that does meet the valuation? Presumably then we’ll lose one or both, I hope the valuation is that ridiculously high that it puts clubs off. We need both players if we’re serious about promotion.
  3. Barring injuries we should definitely keep the same team, I don’t want to jinx anything but I think we can win this game. COYP!
  4. Oh my goodness surely someone should have noticed it somewhere along the production process, that’s shocking. God help the person responsible, they’ll be in big trouble.
  5. I’ll go with Paul Rideout, I believe he came to us from Swindon in the 1990s. Didn’t we start a fund to sign him permanently or something or was that another player?

  10. For the last 50 years I’ve driven a manual car, the other day I tried a brief test drive in an automatic, I found it a bit weird. My question is have you swopped from manual to automatic? How long did it take to get used to it? Did you regret it? I’m a bit cautious at spending thousands then finding I didn’t like it, I’m also wondering if Mrs. T would cope as well, she does drive far but she likes to keep her hand in by driving locally.
  11. Good morning and happy Thursday everyone, it’s a lovely start to the day, I’ve spent the last two days looking at cars but I can’t find one that’s substantially better than the one we’ve got so I’m keeping hold of it for the time being, certainly until after our holiday which is looming in the next few weeks. I’m thinking I might change to an automatic but I’ll ask questions about that in a separate topic. Have a great day everyone.
  12. @CliftonMagpie I’m glad to here you’re back on your feet and walking about, I would enjoy your time away from work, if you’re anything like me you’ll be one day back and hate it again. @TheSkipper interviewing celebrities sounds anything but boring.
  13. Ah yes the great man, thanks @TheSkipper I would definitely be there somewhere, I think in that season I would have been to most matches at home and away.

  17. @allardyces tash Here is Michael Caine himself explaining how it came about.
  18. In the words of Michael Caine “Not a lot of people know that” thanks @Robbie
  19. I only knew one of my grandparents, my grandad and he lived in London, my mum and dad had no interest in football, my brother was a F*rest fan, living on Meadow Lane as a youngster I passed the ground every day on my way to school. I first went to a match in the early 1960s with an older boy and I was hooked. I’ve tried very hard to get my sons involved one wasn’t interested at all but my eldest son came regularly with me until he got married and had a family, now I take my grandson whenever I can, he does enjoy it.
  20. Morning @Robbie, morning everyone, I took the car down to the Citroen dealer in Nottingham for an MoT, while I was there I had a test drive in a newer car which was automatic, I’ve never driven an automatic before so it was a bit weird, the salesperson said imagine you’ve had your left leg chopped off! I’m not sure it’s for me I’m might wait until a manual comes p at the price I can afford, meanwhile I’m quite happy with the car I’ve got for the time being.
