I don’t watch adverts these days because I record stuff and skip the ads but years ago before recording tv was available of course I had no choice. One of my favourite ads was this one for apple imac G3 computers I’ve still got one in the loft mines a blue one, the song was by the Rolling Stones my favourite group

Good morning, it’s Friday so it’s the start of the weekend. It looks like it’s going to be another hot, sunny day, I’ll be mowing the lawn today it’s started a growth spurt after yesterdays splash of rain. I also need to do something about the pond which is very low, I was hoping for a really good prolonged period of rain to fill it up but I think I’ll have to top it up with the hose, the trouble is we are on a water meter. Whats every up to today?

If you want to watch Notts County matches live this coming season you need to subscribe to Sky Sports + I’ve got a Sky Sports subscription via Virgin Media using a TiVo 360 box, I’ve had an email saying I can’t watch Sky Sports+ on my current set up but I can upgrade to Virgin 360 for free, I get a new controller posted to me and when it arrives I use it to upgrade via a link on the tv. I’ll lose my recordings but most of them are on catch up anyway. So I’ll have Sky Sports+ at no extra charge, excellent.

Good morning it’s Thursday and thunderstorms are predicted but they usually skirt around us so I’m not expecting them but it’d be good for the garden. We’ve not got much planned for today after our long walk yesterday we are going to have a rest. Have a great day everyone.

In the many years I’ve been watching Notts I can remember times when they won lots of pre season matches and had a poor season, I also remember then losing lots of pre season and having a great season. The thing is we won’t know how the team is doing until at least 10 games into the season by that time we should have some idea of how the season will pan out, a promotion battle, relegation fight or mid table mediocrity. Whatever happens we’ll still be here either moaning or happily discussing how well we’ve done.

We had a nice walk down the canalside which was lovely and shaded, this was after waiting an hour for one grandchild in the bathroom doing their hair, we got to the pub ordered our drinks and asked for the lunch menu, “we don’t do lunch on Wednesday” AARRGHH! So much to young Fred’s delight we had to resort to McDonald’s after our drinks. This is something I swore I’d never do, grandchildren had to show us how to order on the screens to be supplied with our food in cardboard boxes. I had a chicken salad and was told by Fred that “no one ever goes to McDonalds to have salad Grandad.” It was passable but the cardboard knife and fork was impossible to eat with the knife just bent when I tried to cut the chicken! Hopefully that’s the last time we have to go there.

It’s Wednesday, the middle of the week, we are taking our grandchildren out today to get them off their gadgets for a while, we’ll go for a walk somewhere and lunch, I hope it’s not too hot for walking. Have a great day everyone.

Blooming hot again today, Mrs T has gone to the hairdressers, it’ll be a 4 hour job so I’m chilling out in the cool house. We’ve got to nip to the butchers later to get something for tonight’s tea, he does some lovely ham carved thick off the bone, so we’ll get some of that and have a salad. The ham is expensive but tons better than that rubbish you get in supermarkets.
