  1. The first thing I thought was cyber attack but apparently it’s a defect in content update according to Microsoft. As long as PoN isn’t affected I’m not too bothered.

  5. Good morning it’s a beautiful day again and it’s Friday so time for some weekend chat. I don’t know why I get excited about the weekend I guess it’s a throwback from when I was working. We still treat weekends as special in spite of the fact that we’re retired. We have better meals and I allow myself some alcohol. Whats everyone up to this weekend? I’m hoping to see our son and family for a meal which will be nice, park run tomorrow obviously, so I can keep in trim.
  6. We’ve got a porch so two doors to get through, when someone knocks at the front door I open the inner door and just point at our notice which says “no uninvited callers” so I don’t even have to open the outer door. I do feel sorry for those folk who are only trying to make a living but if there’s a notice on the door they should respect it and not knock.
  7. Well done for recycling @Robbie we always try to recycle stuff or if it’s something that others might make use of we take it to the charity shop.
  8. Why fans would want to make these sick chants I’ll never know. ???? Confronting the 'tragedy chanting' football fans https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cd1erer2k90o
  9. Going back to vegetables, has anyone else tried fennel? It’s got a sort of liquorice taste and goes well with fish. Tonight we are having cod with fennel, chorizo, basil, baby tomatoes, white wine vinegar, wrapped in a parcel and steamed in the oven, it’s delicious.
  10. @Chris I couldn’t agree more, what a horrible place which I try to avoid at all costs. I’m sure there are some decent folk who live there but it does seem to have a large number of not so nice people.
  11. @Robbie I assume you’ve had treatment to help the condition?
  12. I’ve not heard of Achalasia @Robbie so I looked it up, it sounds nasty, you have my sympathy.

  17. Great stuff, I hope it’s a successful trip @Piethagoram and you see a good win. It’s going to be a hot one so I’ll be relaxing today after yesterdays exertions, slap the suncream on and into the garden I think.
  18. Back on form @Piethagoram have a good trip give ‘em a cheer from us.
  19. It’s a new one on me too, although Duck and orange, along with duck and cherries go well together so why not rhubarb? I’ve never been keen on turnip either, I used to love peas as a kid, my mam used to buy them in the pods and I used to help her shell them. Nowadays I can eat most vegetables, I love Brussels sprouts, carrots, sweet potato, cauliflower etc., I’m not keen on turnip or swede although they’re not bad in soup, Mrs. T makes lovely soups my favourite is red pepper and tomato, very easy to make and a cheap meal too.
  20. If their nickname is The Zebras I assume they play in black and white stripes, it’ll be interesting to see what shirt Notts wear, I don’t think they’ve released the new away shirt yet have they? It’ll be a great experience for the players and the fans lucky enough to attend, I hope it’s a good game.
  21. I remember that stand very well, it was literally a stand, i.e. no seats, when the team weren’t playing well a slow handclap would start and people stamping their feet in time, it would echo in the stand and be quite impressive.
  22. We had a lovely walk around the nature reserve followed by a spot of lunch at a tea rooms, a rare treat for us, it was a long walk though and I’m feeling it now.
  23. He’s definitely slipping, I think we’ve got him on the ropes.
