Weekend Chat - Friday 12th - Sunday 14th July
It’s not a dreaded Monday for me. I love retirement. At the moment I’m watching the match with a pint of Hobgoblin.

I agree, I don’t think users should be allowed to edit posts except after a short period (say 10 minutes) at the moment users can go back and edit a post hours or even days after and change the whole context, which could lead to problems.

World Cup Final 1966.
I was 14 and typically my mam booked a holiday that started on the day of the match, we arrived in Southsea on the south coast after a long bus ride and got to our digs, the owners of the boarding house were watching the game on the telly in their lounge and kept coming to tell us the score I really wanted them to ask me if I wanted to watch it and the finally did for the last few minutes so I did get to see some of it.

Nice to have a bit of “you” time without the boys, eh @cheeky~k8? ???? I managed to get round the park run course in 37 minutes which is a bit better than last time by about a minute, in fact it’s the quickest I’ve run since January but nowhere near the 30 minutes which is my personal best time for that course. This afternoon I went for a walk with Mrs. T then settled down to do a bit more of my jigsaw, which has been neglected of late.- Door knockers notice

@menzinho I hope your hayfever settles down and the Spanish Casserole sounds delicious. There’s nothing wrong with tweaking a recipe to your own tastes, we do it all the time, one recipe we do has been tweaked that many times it’s unrecognisable from the original. Right, time to get ready for Park Run 101, wish me luck. ????♂️- Weekend Chat - Fri 5th - Sun 7th July
Oh how I can relate to that I had serious needle phobia and I mean serious, I’d break out in a sweat just seeing a needle let alone having one. However I was so worried about catching covid I forced myself to face my worst nightmare, it was hard, very hard but I managed it and the feeling of elation afterwards was indescribable, I still get very agitated if I have to have blood tests or anything but nothing like I used to be because the more jabs I’ve had the easier it got.- Welcome to Notts, Kellan Gordon

When I was 16 we used to live on Cambria Street which was off Cranmer Street, I used to walk my beloved dog called Skip on Elm Avenue, sadly Skip died of distemper because we couldn’t afford the inoculation. I’ve never had a dog since.- A very good article in the FT on the Spanish wingers
A fascinating read @Piethagoram it’s amazing how they’ve rose to grace the world football stage from such humble beginnings. A great story and a lesson for all young kids.- Tony Hackworth
Who remembers him? What a waste of money.- Progress on linkage of both parts of Great Central Railway at Loughborough
Indeed, it was something I was really looking forward to having lived in the steam era, I tried to engage them by telling them my memories of steam trains but they were bored. In fact the whole day was a disaster because Whitby was absolutely packed with holiday makers so it wasn’t much fun.- Progress on linkage of both parts of Great Central Railway at Loughborough
We took our grandchildren on a steam train from Pickering to Whitby it cost over £100 and they sat looking at their phones for the whole journey, ☹️ at least I enjoyed it. - Weekend Chat - Friday 12th - Sunday 14th July
