  1. I don’t think we should feel disappointed because he wasn’t loyal, he really doesn’t owe us anything he’s done more for our club that we could have ever wished for, he’s broke records and scored 71 goals in 97 games helping us achieve promotion back to the league. We shouldn’t begrudge him a chance of playing in the championship a footballers career is short and career threatening injury could be just around the corner, let’s wish him well and thank him for the memories.
  2. I wonder what they did with all the rocks and earth etc. from digging out the tunnels, there’s probably a new mountain somewhere on the islands or even a new island, or maybe they dug a hole and buried it.
  3. I enjoyed this game very much, I agree with @Robbie that there’s been a lot of “walking football” but not in this game, I actually stayed awake until the end.
  4. Yes Andy Hughes played quite a few games for us as I remember around the years 2000-2001 I think, he was a central midfielder and quite a fans favourite. I hope he does well at Leicester.
  5. I didn’t go to the game but I’ve been reading some comments on social media, either some of them are as thick as two short planks or they are just wind up merchants. The results of these games don’t matter at all it’s about getting match fit, looking at different players, trying different formations etc., I really had to laugh at some of the criticism after one friendly game. Thank goodness I can read some sensible comments here.
  6. Have you ever wondered why you see some players with holes in the backs of their socks? I thought it was the work of moths but here is the reason. https://metro.co.uk/2024/06/16/why-football-players-holes-socks-euro-2024-21044775/amp/
  7. I’m glad he’s found a club, best of luck to him.

  11. Absolutely fascinating stuff @Piethagoram the tunnels are amazing but I can help feel it will change the lives of the islanders forever, more tourists more holiday homes etc. life will probably never be the same again for them.
  12. @Joshua it doesn’t seem that long ago to me that there was no internet at all, any news I got about Notts was from the radio or local newspapers, I’m not sure whether those days were better or not, the internet is great for some things but I do feel it has taken over our lives somewhat.
  13. When I worked on Monday morning the only thing on my mind was Friday.
  14. I think Palmer would make a great captain.
  15. Langstaff is a player who will always be remembered by Notts fans the incredible tally of goals in the number of games he was with us will be very hard to equal. I’m disappointed he’s gone but privileged to see him play in the back and white stripes, he doesn’t owe us anything he gave his all for our club and he definitely deserves his chance at a higher level. I’m sure we haven’t heard the last of him I think he’ll be a huge success at Millwall and whether he goes.
  16. We knew this would eventually be the outcome he’s just too good to be in league 2, if we’d been promoted it might have been different, it’s disappointing how the club have handled it but we have to move on, I’ll be watching his career with interest.
  17. This thread reminds me of a song.
  18. It could be covid @Chris it’s on the rise again! I hope you’re both feeling better soon.
  19. I couldn’t wait to get out of the workplace, I worked in an office environment in the latter years of my working life. Mondays and every workday meant an early morning slog up the motorway to get there for 7.00am. I don’t miss those days at all and when they decided to move everyone to Sheffield meaning an even longer drive I took voluntary redundancy to work with my wife in her business. Now we’re both retired and we’re lucky enough to enjoy lots of holidays and as long as we remain healthy we are determined to carry on living life to the max.
  20. Well first of all let’s see if it’s true, if it is the £700,000 is very disappointing and I agree that the club have probably deliberately delayed to get the season ticket sales in the bag. However let’s not jump the gun, I await official confirmation.
