Notts County gave the travelling Black and White Army a real scare in their 4-2 win over Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park on Sunday. The League Two clash began superbly for the Magpies, who took the lead through a Richard Duffy header before being gifted a goal thanks to a defensive calamity finished off by Adam El Abd's own goal. However, the Chairboys came back strongly in the second half and drew level, with Nick Freeman and Joe Jacobson striking back and leaving Notts rattled.

On Saturday 23 April, Notts County played host to Cambridge United at Meadow Lane. The U's, managed by former Magpies player and manager Shaun Derry, made it a happy homecoming for the Nottingham-born boss as they clinched a 2-1 victory. Towards the end of December, I didn't really expect Notts to make many signings, if any, during the January transfer window. Some sources claimed that no signings would be made at all. I stuck to hopes that we would see some sort of inbound movement within the transfer period at Meadow Lane. I think more than anything I was hoping we would sign players on a permanent basis. With three games left in League Two this season, Notts County remain in dire straits as they lost 2-1 against MK Dons at Meadow Lane. Second-half strikes from David Wheeler and Chuks Aneke consigned Neal Ardley's side to the foot of the Football League once again. Ben Barclay netted a late consolation for the beleaguered Magpies in injury time but it came way too late for it to have a meaningful impact. Notts County have unveiled their new kits for the 2018/19 season. The Magpies released teasers of the new Puma shirts throughout Friday before the full unveiling in the evening. The home kit retains the vertical black-and-white stripes that Notts are famous for and "pays homage to the very popular kits of the 1990s by incorporating yellow into the design". The away kit, meanwhile, "sees the Magpies continue with their cool combination of blue and white – with a pinstripe twist".

Fridays's League Two kick-off saw Notts County host MK Dons at Meadow Lane and once again lose 2-1 to the Dons. Yesterday Notts battled bravely against Wolves who are no doubt one of the main contenders for promotion, if not the strongest team in League One. The game saw chances created by Notts, whilst both teams tried to entertain their respective fans. The final result - a narrow one, nil win to Wolves but all in all something very positive considering the lack of depth within the Notts squad.
