Notts County manager Jamie Fullarton has blamed fine margins for his side’s League Two defeat against AFC Wimbledon. The Dons recorded a 2-0 victory at Meadow Lane to extend their unbeaten run to six games, with striker Tom Elliott and winger Andy Barcham bagging the goals to give the new Magpies boss a loss in his first home game. Fullarton said: "Major incidents in games change how they pan out. They scored a fantastic goal after about t

Notts County goalkeeper Scott Loach has promised the club's fans that he and the rest of the players will want to right the wrongs of last season. The Magpies endured a horrendous campaign in 2015-16 as survived relegation in the last few games, finished 17th and suffered a number of high-scoring defeats. Loach told the Nottingham Post: "There are a few things that the lads who were here last season will want to put right. "The Mansfield game in particular was one that stands out

Alan Hardy has paid a heartfelt tribute to former Notts County chairman Derek Pavis, who sadly passed away last week aged 87. Pavis, who has the west stand at Meadow Lane named in his honour, guided the Magpies through their most successful period in their recent history. He also oversaw the redevelopment of the stadium before stepping aside after 13 years at the helm at the age of 70. In his Nottingham Post column, Hardy wrote: "I was deeply saddened to learn of Derek Pavis' deat

A cracking game in prospect with the Notts Youth team in 7th place taking on local rivals Burton Albion who were 8th. Notts were five points behind the leaders but with a game in hand - so a win was needed to keep up with the league leaders. Back in August Burton had won the first meeting between the teams 2-0 so Notts were looking to avenge that defeat. Although cold it was a lovely sunny morning at Arnold FC's ground with Burton Albion's first team manager, Nigel Clough, in attendance.

Notts County have completed the signing of former Newport County winger Alex Rodman on a free transfer. The 29-year-old played 25 times for the Exiles last season in League Two, scoring four goals, and was managed by current Magpies boss John Sheridan. Rodman cited this as a key reason for joining Notts, telling reporters: "I've worked with him before - he came in when we were having a bad spell at Newport last year and he turned the tide around. "I know how he works, I know how h

Notts County boss Kevin Nolan has pledged to get momentum going and edge his side to League Two safety, starting this weekend at Grimsby Town. Despite the Magpies slipping into the drop zone, they managed to stop the rot last week with a point against Mansfield Town at Meadow Lane. The goalless draw was an improvement on the previous 10 league games, which all ended in defeats, and John Sheridan's successor is hoping for more in the coming weeks. "We want to build momentum now," N

Rob Milsom has admitted that he wants to establish himself as a goalscoring midfielder at Notts County, and believes that Kevin Nolan is just the guy to coach him into it. The 30-year-old has been at Meadow Lane for two seasons and, following a disappointing first campaign, really came into his own in 2016-17 and was rewarded with the club's player of the season awards. Milsom was utilised in a variety of positions at the club but, now that he is deployed in central midfield, he wants

Kevin Nolan's managerial tenure at Notts County has today hit the one-year mark and the gaffer had plenty to reminisce about, but insists there is to be no resting on laurels. This time last year, the Magpies were seemingly destined for the Conference, and perhaps even extinction, until Alan Hardy took over the club and brought Nolan along with him. There was a lot of doubt over the appointment, given his relative inexperience - he had only had a short stint at Leyton Orient - and the

Notts County have completed the signing of former Wales international Richard Duffy on a free transfer. The 30-year-old centre-half turned down the offer of a new contract at Vale Park and also rejected a switch to non-league Eastleigh. Duffy said he had a change of heart when the Magpies came in for him as he becomes John Sheridan's fourth summer signing, on a one-year contract. He told the Nottingham Post: "I agreed to sign with them but when John called I felt it was a chance I

Alan Hardy has "completely transformed" Notts County since taking over the previously beleaguered club at the start of 2017, according to one of the new team sponsors. Macesport, based in Nottingham's Lace Market, have signed up to be the first name on the Magpies shirt following the announcement of the club's never-before-seen monthly sponsor arrangement. And lifelong Notts fan Paul Mace, who founded the company 12 years ago, has praised Hardy's work so far, urging other local compani

Kevin Nolan has described his Notts County players as "magnificent" as they sealed a 2-0 win over Morecambe in Saturday's League Two encounter at Meadow Lane. Dan Jones opened the scoring midway through the first half with a well-taken free kick, while substitute Jonathan Forte made sure of all three points with a late strike. The result sees the Magpies climb to third in the table and stretches their unbeaten run in all competitions to six games, but Nolan is eager for his side to reg

Carl Dickinson has claimed that Notts County could have easily scored "five or six" goals against Bristol Rovers in their FA Cup first-round meeting on Friday night. The clash at Meadow Lane began in the worst possible way for Notts, who found themselves two goals down by the quarter-hour mark. However, Ryan Yates struck a quickfire brace - assisted by Dickinson for both goals - to edge the hosts level, before Jon Stead and Jorge Grant completed the turnaround by full time. “It di

The Magpies went top as a result of this victory, and Williams had nothing but praise for his team. On the 1st of March this Saturday, Notts County will be taking on Rotherham United. They've risen from League Two and are currently one of the top teams on form in this league. If we based the league on the last six games they would be positioned 2nd. However, if we stretched to four games making it 10, they would be one position lower at 3rd. Notts will be seeking to pick themselves up after back to back defeats. The Match Officials for Saturday's at the New York Stadium

Notts County midfielder Rob Milsom admits he's "gutted" that his on-pitch partnership with Michael O'Connor has had to be put on ice but believes Elliot Hewitt will continue to be a great replacement in the centre of the park. O'Connor suffered serious cruciate ligament damage in April and is expected to be out until next year as he prepares for knee surgery. Hewitt has however done well in his place and, after committing to a new deal at Meadow Lane, is expected to continue partnering

Alam Hardy has revealed how one prospective Notts County target - a free agent - asked the club for more than £4,000 a week to join. The Magpies strengthened their ranks throughout the course of the summer and, although there was some mild interest in a number of players late on in the transfer window, nothing came of it. Hardy wrote in the Nottingham Post: "The window closed last week and I was originally of the opinion that deadline day added great excitement. "But, on reflectio

Kevin Nolan has done a great job to turn Notts County around, Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley has stated. This weekend marks a year since Nolan has taken charge of a Magpies match and, in that time, the club has gone from the bottom rungs of the League Two table to the top three. "Kevin Nolan’s done a great job. He’s been there a year and he’s turned that club round,” Cowley, speaking ahead of Saturday's meeting between the two sides at Sincil Bank, told Lincolnshire Live. “I’ve
