Notts stopped the rot today but will rue the missed opportunity of securing a priceless three points as they held Scunthorpe United to a 2-2 draw at Meadow Lane. The visitors began in outstanding fashion as they won two successive corners in the first minute. From the second of these, Paddy Madden’s header was tipped on to the bar by Kevin Pilkington, before Theo Robinson pounced to nod in the rebound. Notts quickl

Well, what better way to start the New Year than with a resounding win and a clean sheet? Notts County did what Arsenal and Aston Villa couldn’t do a year ago, by comprehensively thrashing Bradford City. The Bantams lost 3-0 in front of the Notts faithful, courtesy of goals from Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Callum McGregor and Jack Grealish. Shaun Derry made just one change from the defeat at Crawley Town – Alan Sheehan’s suspension meant Manny Smith partnered Dean Leacock at centre-back.

Another match day, another turn of events. Just when it seemed that we were perilously edging back towards the drop zone, comes another great performance, another great result, and another reassessment of our chances of surviving the drop. Notts County comprehensively beat Coventry City this afternoon, as goals from Hayden Mullins, Jimmy Spencer and Alan Sheehan secured a fantastic 3-0 win. Shaun Derry gave Spencer his full debut less than a week after signing from Hudders

All in all, a great game for Notts today, as we won convincingly against Gillingham FC, but it certainly didn't look that way in the first 40 or so minutes. A lacklustre, disjointed first-half performance nevertheless managed to yield a goal, courtesy of the frankly unplayable Callum McGregor, while the second half, which began with an equalising Gills goal, was a great display of attacking football in which Jack Grealish and sub Callum Ball, alongside the young Scot, tore the visitors to

After three losses on the bounce and an aura of negativity increasingly festering over Meadow Lane, fans were given plenty of reasons to be optimistic for next season with a convincing display against Colchester United on Saturday. Prior to the game, guests of honour Giorgio Zunino and the Italian Magpies were introduced to the thousands of fans in the stands, who responded with applause and cheers. Aside from their commitment and passion, the boys and girls from Italy brought som

In Notts County's first match following the departure of Chris Kiwomya, the Meadow Lane faithful were treated to a five-goal thriller against Oldham Athletic which, we are glad to announce, went the right way, as the Magpies won a topsy-turvy match 3-2. Danny Haynes got on the end of a great Greg Tempest cross to head his side into the lead, before Adam Rooney bundled the ball into the Notts net on the stroke of half-time. The hour mark saw Notts triple their tally courtesy of Yoann Arqui

22nd March 2014. Mark the date. Today was quite possibly one of the best single match days for all Notts fans. Derby County's 5-0 demolition of the Red Dogs, aside from being an amazing example of schadenfreude over the arrogant neighbours, must have spurred on the Notts players, because they then went out and played like a side chasing promotion, not on the verge of relegation, as they thrashed Carlisle United 4-1 and gave themselves a tiny, infinitesimal glimmer of hope. &

Wow. That is today's game summed up in one word, though there are plenty of superlatives that would also be used, such as "exhilarating", "thrilling", "epic"... Notts fans today went through the whole gambit of emotions, from hope, to deflation, to despair, back to hope, then through to joy, then nail-biting tension, and finally the thrilling climax of exhilaration, and all in front of our faithful brothers and sisters from Turin, the Italian Magpies. Notts County made the most of a bumper crowd on Saturday to record an emphatic, crushing win against Crewe, scoring four past them and keeping a clean sheet in the process. Callum McGregor was undoubtedly the star of the game, scoring two superb goals in the first half, before playing a hand in Danny Haynes' goal for Notts' third. Marcus Haber then wrapped up the comprehensive victory with a fine looping header. Chris Kiwomya, having been suitable impressed by the victory against Tranmere

The way Notts's games have panned out recently, the club may consider selling tickets for just the second half. Joking aside, another game of two halves, this time on a Friday evening in front of the Sky Sports cameras, saw Notts play disappointingly and concede in the first 45, before a scintillating second-half display, aided by some lacklustre defending, saw Notts tear Bury apart and score four goals to give the Magpies faithful a great start to the weekend. Chris Kiwomya played a 4-4-

Well, what a truly exhilarating game today at Meadow Lane. Notts County surged into a three-goal lead within the first 40 minutes, before being pegged back to 3-2 until a grandstand finish saw Shaun Derry's charges establish a three-goal lead against Crawley Town. The visitors then scored another goal, but ultimately, the Magpies would secure the win, 5-3, that meant a nine-game unbeaten run. Garry Thompson opened the scoring in the ninth minute when he pr

In a thrilling encounter at the Community Stadium, Colchester United edged out Notts County in a nine-goal thriller, winning 5-4. The match was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, with both teams displaying exceptional skill and determination. In the 10th minute, the game exploded into action with an incredible goal by Noah Chilvers from Colchester United. With a powerful right-footed shot from beyond 35 yards, he skilfully placed the ball right into the centre of the goal. This early goal se

Finally, FINALLY Notts County have put in a display worthy of the fans' time and money AND yielded a great result. Could this be another formative step in the Greatest Escape? The Magpies went to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday for a tricky-seeming League Two fixture and left the New Lawn with all three points courtesy of a 2-1 win. Notts began brightly against the side managed by their former boss Mark Cooper as Nottingham Forest loanee Virgil Gomis forced FGR keeper Mark Lewis into a

Notts County have claimed the top spot in the National League from Wrexham, following their 3-0 triumph over Wealdstone, in which Macaulay Langstaff set a new goalscoring record. Langstaff, who scored his 41st goal of the season, broke the record for the most goals in a single campaign since the league was rebranded in 2015. County have now amassed 100 points this season with four games still remaining. The Magpies' fortunes improved further upon learning of Wrexham's 3-1 loss to Halif

Notts County surged into a two-goal half time lead against Hartlepool, relinquished it, and went on to win 3-2 in a topsy-turvy League Two clash at Victoria Park - Jamie Fullarton's third away win, and third victory in his five games so far. Just four minutes of the first half passed when Jon Stead stole the ball in midfield, powered down the pitch and nonchalantly lashed the ball from range into the top corner of the net. Notts County managed to secure a second successive away point by holding Exeter City to a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park. The hosts dominated proceedings in the first 20 minutes, Tom Nichols firing wide from distance following Jack Barmby’s dispossession at the hands of David Wheeler. In the 25th minute the Grecians took the lead in controversial circumstances when Izale McLeod was brought down in midfield by a clumsy challenge from Joel Grant, but despite the incident happeni

Another matchday, another gambit of emotions for Notts County fans. First came relief with a solid yet unspectacular win at Crawley. Then despair with a poor performance against AFC Wimbledon.  And now, delight as the Magpies clinch an impressive 2-0 win away at Luton Town, with former Notts star Alan Sheehan opening the scoring with an own goal before Jon Stead wrapped up all three points with a fantastic solo strike. While a goalless draw at home may look like a negative result at first glance, Notts County gave their fans plenty to cheer about for the first time in weeks with a gutsy performance, a clean sheet and a bright second half against playoff-chasing Wycombe Wanderers in Monday’s game at Meadow Lane. The visitors could have been behind inside three minutes as miscommunication between Ryan Allsop and Anthony Stewart allowed Adam Campbell to sneak on to a ball over the top, but the Bournemouth lo

Notts County's disappointing season has ended on a low note after Carlisle United struck five unanswered goals at Meadow Lane, while the final whistle of the League Two clash saw Mark Cooper walk away from the club. It took just four minutes for Hallam Hope to set up Newcastle United loanee Alex Gilliead to finish at the near post, setting the tone for what was to come. Just before the half-hour mark Keith Curle's side doubled their lead as Jabo Ibehre pulled the ball back for Danny Gr

Notts County showed flashes of class interspersed with sloppy play in their League Two match against Oxford United, but looked set for a point until two late goals condemned them to a 4-2 defeat at Meadow Lane. Michael Appleton's side could have gone ahead early on, but Roy Carroll kept Chris Maguire at bay with an excellent save. The Magpies worked their way into the game and, near the stroke of half time, found themselves in a good posit

Notts County have secured a spot in the League Two playoffs thanks to Saturday's resounding 4-1 win over Yeovil Town at Meadow Lane. In addition, victory took the Magpies to within two points of third-placed Wycombe Wanderers - who lost 3-0 at Accrington Stanley - with two games left to play. Both sides traded blows throughout the first half, Jonathan Forte riflling a shot past the post before hitting the bar with an audacious lob but Yeovil also having numerous opportunities to open t
