I was actually thinking about going to Denmark this month, but flights from Germany start at 550 euros. It's much cheaper from the UK.

It sounds very interesting and it looks like we'll be playing at the actual stadiums (and not just training grounds). I hope they're good, competitive games and I hope we can take a full squad there this time!

I had hoped we would focus on avoiding these types of tours, as the German one barely benefitted us. Yes, we can say it worked out in the end. However, pre-season should help adjust to life in League One. I think this should happen by trying to play well against Championship teams and former League One and League Two teams.

It's tiring playing Alfreton Town every season, and this is coming from someone who's father grew up in the town. Mind, Super has agreed to come with me, Mark, Jake and Katrina.

Why can't we avoid the tours from time to time? I am not saying this to be negative but it limits our fans from attending especially younger fans who can't travel and it's a bonding time we could actively encourage on the back of promotion by focusing on English clubs. At a push, surely some Irish or Scottish teams might be interested? Friendlies are all about fitness, but I am not that impressed personally.

Those who can go, enjoy it! I am not trying to be a dampener but I haven't changed my thoughts on the last German tour. I fail to see how Denish teams are any different or better.

A field where dreams become reality.

I am not too bothered about it, but I do understand why a pre‑season tour after moving up a league might not be the best way to prepare for the season ahead. I trust the board to make the right choices. I also hope it gives us a small boost with recruitment, as it might be something new players look forward to. You do not get the chance to play a Danish side very often, and it will be interesting to see what level they are at when they face us.

It did benefit us... Cotter's sending off showed we had signed a "liability"!

Max Boruc played well for us and we inexplicably didn't sign him

Last season we travelled to Germany with a newly installed head coach, half a squad, a stack of trialists and minus Jatta. And we played teams levels above us - Darmstadt have just sold two of the players that played against us (Hornby and Lidberg) for 7 million euros. We barely touched the ball.

This time, MP will have a better idea what his team will look like from the outset. It would be best to play teams at about L1 level, so hopefully our Danish opponents will fit the bill. SPL opposition might also be suitable, otherwise we'd have to settle for a crap Championship team like Derby. We only know three of the fixtures though, so there'll be more to come.

I did wonder how long it will be before we get the Reedtz Brother derby aka Notts v Viborg. Maybe a chance for Patterson and the coaching team to see who they want from Viborg next! 😉

Viborg are better than Randers, they finished 5th after their league split and were just a point short of getting a Europa Conference League Qualifier. Randers finished 10th overall and were nearly relegated. I'd think both are better than us, I'd suggest it'll be like playing a mid-table Championship side and then a weaker one. It's only two matches and we'll have other pre-season matches at ML or elsewhere in the UK that are likely to be announced soon, hopefully we'll get good one at home.

Oh and please can make sure we’ve tripled checked Jatta’s visa this time! I can’t do another pre-season of him being allegedly unhappy because he’s missed the trips abroad!

Well I'm off to it using the pretext of missing the playoffs and needing my Notts fix. Just no-one mention to my partner about the many great coffee shops, bakeries and a nice beach jaunt if the weather is nice...

Tempted by this but Denmark is expensive! Went there for an England friendly in summer 2005, got a cheap flight to Hamburg then train and camped to keep costs down.

Matches concide with World Cup QFs and Semi-finals so anyone going make sure you've got access to a screen in case England do well!
