Alan Hardy provides update on Notts County matchday programme
The club should have found a way to keep them in within the season tickets IMO, it seemed a good way and I am certain more fans took one because of that. I know Notts actually lost money in this department due to that, but a better model and season might see the club break even with them - it's funny because I don't think they deserve being scrapped but there's just little to interest people enough to make them a commercial thing these days.

Jorge Grant: 'Notts County helped improve me as a player and as a person'
I wished he would consider coming back for one more season. He's progressing nicely and, I don't blame him for wanting to try his hands (I should write feet ) at League One but really his game needs to be polished just a little further IMO. If he goes to a League One club I hope its one which will push him as we did, I don't expect him to come back.

Matt Tootle: 'I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else'
I wouldn't class it as a 'sour note' Matt, I think the outcome was taken out of our hands and the squad responded positively when the chances of playoffs seemed bleak. The squad pulled together and secured a space within that, yes we may have missed out on the automatics but really it's football. Keep inspiring people and lets come back stronger!

Faces of PON: Notts County fans out in force for playoff semi-final against Coventry City
Notts County's Wembley dream came to an end on Friday night as a referee-assisted Coventry City side ran out 4-1 winners in their League Two playoff semi-final second leg at Meadow Lane. Level at 1-1 on aggregate following the first leg, the hosts admittedly put in a dire first-half performance as Maxime Biamou and Marc McNulty struck in the first half to put the Sky Blues in control. Jorge Grant pulled one back for the Magpies before the break while Jonathan Forte had a perfectly good goal disallowed for offside. Biamou then scored again in a move which saw two separate offsides in the build-up and Tom Bayliss added another late on to end County's dreams of promotion to League One. Despite the result, it was great to see the Black & White Army out in force - Pride of Nottingham was present to take pictures of fans, so see if you've made it into the final Faces of PON of the season! Chris Stokes hopes Coventry City can put three past "long ball" Notts County
He's right we are a hoof ball team. However, when we have kept the ball on the deck things looked good and with confidence we can knock the ball around well. I just don't feel we should respect Coventry as much as we did last time, it didn't help us and we gave them far too much ground. Let's just hope that this provides Kevin Nolan with a point to prove. COYP!

Match Discussion: Game 46 - The Hatters (H)
Last time we played Luton at home I thought they would play better, though they didn't and Notts won them very convincingly. This game could go either way, but there's not much to play for - we are just trying to determine our final finish. I am hoping that we can go into the game and get some confidence behind us for the playoff games. I do feel we need to rest certain players but those who aren't tired or risk of being injured should play, only making a few changes to save legs.

Match Discussion: Game 45 - The Mariners (A)
I've been told that it's been a very disappointing result, however inconsistency can creep into play and this is what I am going to label it down too. I'm not disappointed at this stage about missing out on the autos, I'm looking forward to seeing how things pan out in the coming weeks. Grimsby are a fighting team, they're a side very capable of matching or even out playing any side on the day. Just hope we can start to find some sort of consistency going into the playoffs, as we will need it - I do think form goes out the window there too.

Match Discussion: Game 42 - Sky Blues (H)
Fantastic win today and, I'm pleased for Forte who has proven that he can do well. I get the feeling Kevin Nolan doesn't like quiet people, though I still suspect that his training ground work will be criticized eventually by KN. Did I expect to win Coventry City? No I didn't, yet we deserved it and I praise the way the players responded. It's a good win which gives us a strong fight to secure a playoff place! Well done Notts. COYP!

Joe Jones: Calling for Kevin Nolan to lose Notts County job is deluded
I'm not the biggest fan of his attitude or weaknesses, yet he's earned my support and really at this stage sacking him seems mad. I do understand why some are and, naturally will. Just for me he needs to continue and we need that stability, if he doesn't get his ideas right it might be harder but I think he'll re-access in the summer and bounce back.

Match Discussion: Game 42 - Sky Blues (H)
We need to go into the game with a clear plan and understanding as to how Coventry might play. If we fail to get something here, I feel playoffs will be much harder and the game could result in us slipping further. I really hope we play to how we know we can, those getting on Ameobi's back must understand he's played far more than he should have done. Nolan needs to find a way to get Forte more involve or at least Saunders! We have enough decent players in midfield but we need to play the ball along the ground. Hoofing it has lead to more issues and I just want to see us try to give them a game. Personally, I would demand better from the opening game and tell the players to prove a point. Lets get the points Notts! Fight for every minute on the pitch. #COYP

Match Discussion: Game 41 - Stanley (A)
Yeah, but they've done well for us - I don't get this Shola Ameobi witch hunt. The issue is the fact the club hasn't signed a replacement and refuses to use a very capable forward in Forte, Nolan has some major stubborn issues which I have been pointing out all season. I think we can do well against Accrington but it's all related to how we play, we can't blame the forward and I know @ARLukomski isn't suggesting this but quite a few seem to be. Just remember that without the options we have, we'd be doing much poorer. I'm going for a 2-1 away win.

Match Discussion: Game 39 - The Spireites (A)
I can see Notts leading quite nicely and, despite how I think things could pan out - my prediction would be 2-2. I don't think we should write Chesterfield off, they're at home and are a decent side struggling due to various reasons. Yet I would say they're easily underperforming and derby type games are the exact type which lifts performances on the field. Notts are also prone to being silly especially away from home, yet I do feel Notts will lead - maybe even by half time. Yet Chesterfield may find that they can pressure us and this is why I feel a draw seems very likely. I'm putting my prediction less down to silly mistakes, so no madness by Duffy or Alessandra handball (nothing of this nature). Just a case of two teams have decent halfs and ultimately cancelling each other out. It will be a strange game for the cameras but lets hope we can do it! Three points would naturally help us out a lot.

Former Notts County defender Sol Campbell overlooked by Grimsby Town due to lack of experience
He's been overlooked by a registered sex offender right? I wonder if he will continue to believe it's down to the colour of his skin? I do feel sorry for him, as how else would he gain experience but I am sure a Non League club would be happy to take him on. Why doesn't he try to build from the bottom? He can't always be rejected but his punditry skills isn't best either.

Faces of PON: Fans brave snowy conditions to support Notts County against Mansfield Town
Notts County were pegged back eight minutes into injury time as Mansfield Town's late, late penalty saw them leave Meadow Lane with a point in a 1-1 draw. The Magpies were on the verge of recording a first league win over the Stags since 2005 in front of a bumper crowd that braved the snowy, cold, treacherous conditions at the San Sirrel. Kevin Nolan's boys took the lead in the first half through Terry Hawkridge bundling home, but the Stags were given the chance to equalise eight minutes into the seven minutes of added time at the end of the game. Alex Macdonald headed into the box in the last minute of injury time with the ball hitting Lewis Alessandra on the arm, prompting referee Andy Woolmer to point to the spot, and Kane Hemmings made no mistake. Match Discussion: Game 38 - The Stags (H)
The tides kinda turned on both clubs, we had less pressure on us and now it's sort of restored itself back. Mansfield seem to be having teething issues with their new manager (who seems to be a bit of a bizarre appointment). I still think we could surprise fans, as most won't expect a win but on the day it depends how we play. If we had of played better at Field Mill, there's no chance they'd have won us so easily. For the record I think they have a decent team and are capable of promotion, I've always said this but they're far from a 'complete' squad and there's a lot of weaknesses there that we could exploit. Likewise, they can make us crumble and I hope for our sakes Richard Duffy plays well because if he does - we tend to do better. I can see us winning, especially just pinching it late on. It's most likely going to be tight again on the field, so we just need to encourage and be mindful that they can break teams down. If we work hard and perform well, it would be nice to win them deservedly!

Scouting Report: Notts County must look to cause panic in Forest Green Rovers defence
Notts County head to the New Lawn on Saturday to face Forest Green Rovers as they hope to remain in the top three of League Two. The Magpies leapfrogged Wycombe Wanderers to move into the automatic promotion slots with a 1-1 draw at Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night. FGR will prove a stern test, however, as they have won their last five games on home turf to move seven points clear of the relegation zone. What are Forest Green's strengths, who are their key players, what kind of tactics will they use, and how should Notts counter them? Pride of Nottingham's Chris takes a look in this Scouting Report. Head to head Notts County and Forest Green Rovers have met just twice in competitive action and the Green Devils have not beaten the Magpies yet. The first game came in the third round of the FA Cup on 19 January 2010, and it ended in a 2-1 win for the Magpies at Meadow Lane. This season is the first that both teams share the same league, and the reverse fixture on 7 October - also at the Lane - ended 1-1 with Rob Milsom scoring an injury-time leveller. Saturday's game marks the first time that the Magpies head to FGR's home, the New Lawn Stadium. Run-down of their last six features Wednesday 31st January – Exeter City 2 Forest Green Rovers 0 Saturday 3rd February – Forest Green Rovers 2 Coventry City 1 Tuesday 13th February – Forest Green Rovers 3 Stevenage 1 Saturday 17th February – Morecambe 1 Forest Green Rovers 1 Saturday 24th February – Forest Green Rovers 2 Crawley Town 0 Tuesday 6th March – Newport County 3 Forest Green Rovers 3 The Players – Fact Sheet Highest Goal Scorers: Christian Doidge 21, Reuben Reid 3, Reece Brown 3 and Lee Collins 2. Persistent Foulers: Dale Bennett 7 yellow cards and 1 red card, Charlie Cooper 6 yellow cards and 1 red card, Lee Collins 5 yellow cards The Key Players Christian Doidge is a powerhouse who has a natural threat on goal, his crisp and calm finishing is lethal within League Two and the striker is extremely confident with moving forward with the ball showing no fear to shoot from distance. Reece Brown is also very influential in midfield, offering pace and skill when taking on the opposition players. Style of Play, Strengths, and Weaknesses Forest Green’s form has largely improved since we last met at Meadow Lane and so have their performances. On the ball they look to get forward by moving the ball around well, whilst coming back at times when no more ground can be gained via attacking directly. They also lump the ball quite a fair bit, especially when under pressure but are very content on the ball on the ground. In defence, the Green Devils can be quite sloppy and despite retaining organisation at the back – they fail to remain alert to danger. Opposition teams usually maximise their chances by the chaos caused by the FGR defence's panicking. Games do remain quite open even when they seem strong in possession, as they invite too much pressure on themselves by disconnected play. Their main threat is by their ability to work the ball well in tight areas, as they have several players capable of delivering useful balls, which teams tend to find difficult to attack – it’s clear that Forest Green practice within their training how to deliver balls against their counterparts. For Notts our midfield will need to be patient and careful when building, they’ll have to work hard and present creative chances for any opportunities to fall our way. Ensuring that the FGR defence are constantly troubled will create chances for the Magpies and set pieces seems something which we might be able to make use of. Overall Kevin Nolan shouldn’t get players to commit too deep, yet there must be a finer balance within the centre of the park – as the team that controls the game via the middle will get on top of the game.
