Welcome to Notts Academy: Nimesh Patel.
I hope it's a significant improvement, as our academy does a very good job, but we waste so much talent by not getting them exposed to regular minutes. Sending them out on loan is fine, provided they get played, they learn, and gain that valuable experience. If we were persistent with them getting the right first-team football and building them into our team when they are not far from the standard needed. We'd have more promising players coming through instead of being released every year. I do agree, it would be great to have Nimesh Patel work towards this.

Notts reunion holiday snaps
I wonder if Bajami will be returning to playing after suffering his second setback? I wish all three of them well, but I really hope Cedwyn Scott finds himself at Carlisle United. He could be their biggest player if he finds the net.

Weekly chat Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd June
Yesterday I had a physio appointment, where I was given some local community resources to explore for extra support. Though they are not very local to me, I am still very interested. I just have to figure out how to get there on public transport. The breeze coming into my room so far feels very nice, relaxing even, and not too hot. It probably would be if I were to go out. 🤣 Going to start looking at the things I have assigned myself to look at now. 🙌🏻

Finally a quality retro shirt release
@DangerousSausage, it's very misleading from the photos because some look like it's not that wavy, and others do. I think they could have given Sir Charlie Palmer a bit bigger size. It's not 100% identical, as I believe the black material had a faint pattern on it, but I have seen replicas/fakes where the pattern is more visible. The club's name being embroidered makes more sense with the retro shirt, as mine did peel off.

New shirt
Well, I hope people won't read too much into the retro shirt that's been released and therefore believe the club will reveal a shirt for this upcoming season based on that, as it makes zero sense. It will most likely be an off-peg design, but I am sure it will be good. I haven't been a large fan of the home shirts. Last season was the first in a while that I liked. Yet, nothing has been bad, just not my personal preference. I would love for yellow fabric to be featured within the design; it always makes the black and white stripes pop. Away shirt-wise, anything Nottingham-coloured. I wouldn't mind a simple yellow kid, or yellow and green. Yet these might not be everyone else's cup of tea.

Finally a quality retro shirt release
@cheeky~k8 just ordered me one as a belated Father's Day gift, since I don't ask for anything. 😍 Best Ever!

Finally a quality retro shirt release
I feel the same way; I haven't liked any of the retro kits before now, despite two of The Terraces being ones from my childhood. This shirt was the very one I had; it will be at my parents house. I remember my grandfather taking me and my brother to go get them; I was very excited, as I had never had a football shirt before. I lived and died in it, and to get me to wear something else was nearly impossible.

Join the Pride of Nottingham's Discord Server
It's been discussed for a while now that, in the event the site goes down, PON would need to communicate with members in a safe environment, with updates given across social media. Not just as a means to cover any unexpected downtime, but to centralise the support that the Pride of Nottingham has across all our social media channels. This is not a replacement for the site, but a different way for Notts County fans to stay engaged and join in with the latest news. Please consider joining. 👍🏻 https://discord.gg/WTC4xUAq

Maziar Kuhyar signs from Kiddy
I don't know much about him, but from what I have read, I can see why Notts have decided to go in for him. Being an international player, even for Afghanistan, is something that sets him apart from others and will give him something different in terms of experience. How he will fit in and impact our squad remains yet to be seen, but I think it is a good signing. I am not sure what style or ability he brings, but it is encouraging.

Ollie Norburn signs for Notts.
Of course, we have done well with working with injured players in recent years. Perhaps hindered more so, since returning to League Two, yet it's good the club has acknowledged this with the recent appointment of Dr. Rhodes.

Ollie Norburn signs for Notts.
He can create goals; my concerns are his fitness and injury record, but it makes sense as to why we have sought Dr. Rhodes. I mean, it's a very good signing for League Two; he's still good enough to easily be playing in League One, but I am still mindful. I don't want to knock the signing, but I was hoping we would bring in a player that would have a good record with scoring goals in midfield. Ollie could very well get 5-10 goals, which would be great. I guess we will have to see exactly how he fits into our team and how we get the most out of him. He was a very good player for Shrewsbury Town, so maybe he will shine more in League Two. It's a good signing; I am happy.

I don't think this warrants being shared in the announcement, but I have improved the user group graphics. Once I know how to apply alternative ones for the dark theme via CSS, I will be making those changes.Members who subscribe and have an active subscription will have this reflected in their posts.+SupportersAdmin/GMOD/MediaLight:Dark:I'm hoping to have better news shortly. 👍

Announcement: Apology, PON annual awards, and Site news - 2nd June
I've disabled every resource so that an issue can be identified. Things should return to normal by the time everyone is back in the morning; the only way to rule out what could be causing the issue is to eliminate conflicts. 👍

I would hope so. I am preparing for Wednesday to be eventful, but tomorrow wouldn't surprise me if we get a bit more news trickling through.

Weekly chat Monday 9th to Sunday 15th June
I took my lot to see @super_ram, we had something to eat together and celebrated Father's Day with him. It was nice to get out; I think it's only the second time I have left the house since returning from my family's break on the East Coast. It was actually very pleasant out, and walking home felt lovely. No heat, a breeze, and just warmth. It was then that nice Jake turned to Cheeky and said, "I wish I could have walks in this type of weather more often," as he had been going out with some friends, and those days had been warm. Aside from that, I have been trying to work on areas that need it, but certain parts I can't quite do yet. So I have been moving on to what can be done.
-
Doggerland, North Sea origins
I have watched several YouTube videos on it. One of the videos spoke about how there were plans to cut off the northern part, an area between us and France, to stop the sea from claiming it. Therefore, they could return parts back to land and restore some security of global sea levels to those areas. Much like how the Dutch have done in creating the Netherlands.
-
Lady Bay Bridge closure
If they are closing it down to repaint it, I hope they look at some of the areas of the bridge that need repairing. The last time I walked across it, there were parts where you could see the river through parts of the floor that had decayed. Otherwise, I'm not sure painting it alone is justification enough to close it. It really does need some care, but if our council thinks a lick of paint will do, it. They're wrong; it needs looking after.

Where are they now : Jon Stead
I think it's a good decision and chance for Jon Stead; I have no doubt he can be a good coach. I wished his time here had ended better. He gave the impression that he was always annoyed and wanted to leave. I don't think being pals with Kevin Nolan helped, but good luck to him in his new role.

Matchday Traditions: What Works for You?
It's difficult since COVID; I find myself quite anxious, and I struggle a lot. It depends on the situation, but last season I took a more relaxed approach. My friend Mark and his partner Katrina attended games; he gives me a lift, and it helps, as before I used to rely on public transport. We tend to have something to eat before, @super_pie loves having Burger King, KFC, and Subway right near the ground. After we have something to eat, we walk to the ground, and I try to see if I can notice anyone. I try to say hello, as I feel rude if I go past people, but again, since COVID, it's not always very easy, especially with large amounts of people. If we pop in the club shop, usually it's just to see what sales are on, etc. After that, we go to the Magpie Brewery for a drink and await the grounds opening. When I take photos, I always try to sit at the front and soak up some of the atmosphere. I miss knowing where friends and regulars would sit, as in recent years people have moved around and it's more spread out. I love the atmosphere when everyone comes in spirit, and it can massively help if Notts doesn't play all that well. Though I would say football is generally good to watch from a tactical point of view, even if the performances are off. I love away games due to the togetherness we have amongst ourselves, and when this vibe is present at Meadow Lane, it is brilliant.
-
Pavis, KOP or Family Stand: Where do you sit when attending games?
I sit in the KOP; I don't plan on moving, but with it becoming busier, I am seeing fans I speak to regularly making a transition into the family stand. I've sat in every stand over the years. My grandfather, Ray, would take me to games when I was younger. Mostly those days were in the Pavis Stand, and being a kid, I always wanted to sit high up. After he died, I didn't attend for a while, but when I went back, it was again in the Pavis. I never really liked it; nobody really spoke, and I would sing, and my children would join in with the chants. We moved to the KOP and haven't looked back. I spent a few months in the Family Stand when I dislocated my knee, which I enjoyed, and managed to get other fans to join in making an atmosphere, but I was keen to get back to the KOP.

Announcement: Apology, PON annual awards, and Site news - 2nd June
Some members might not have experienced it; it depends on their tunnelling and where each connection reaches their global network. I just did a quick Google, and no end of people are complaining about much longer times, so we're lucky.

Announcement: Apology, PON annual awards, and Site news - 2nd June
If you experienced PON going offline briefly a second ago, the issue is with Cloudflare and them reaching our server. It only lasted for a few minutes, very intermittent, but a lot of people have been complaining lately about CF. This is the first time I have noticed it. It's nothing to worry about, it's partly due to infrastructure changes at their end.
