I think it’s a real photo, the angle of it is very natural and then has no-one got extra fingers or random zips/buttons on clothing. And it's definitely Luke, otherwise he's got a twin that no-one told us about! If the photo was recent than it’s pretty certain he's not going to be our head coach. You’d have thought with the pay-off from Swansea, he’d be able to live quite comfortably for a while. Equally some people can’t just sit at home and feel like they need get out and to do something. Either that or he’s going on holiday and has got so fed up with the queues he’s devised a great plan to march past them!

I think the fact we signed Tyler and then didn’t play him probably made his mind up to go. It’s a shame because we’ll never know how good he is. I do think persuading someone to come in to just be a back-up to Bass is a hard sell, but that is basically what’s going to happen. I would be happy to have Archie Mair back but I also wonder if he'd prefer to go somewhere where the chances of playing are higher.

Maybe a little focus group wouldn’t go a miss at times when we do our shirt designs, because to me it seemed obvious the best shirt out the three last season was the purple one. It’s disappointing when seemingly most popular shirt is the limited edition one! You did well to even get the chance to purchase one! Every time I looked the shirt was out of stock and I definitely would’ve bought one too if I had the chance. Hopefully next season our away shirt is a bit more exciting than a just an orange shirt with a badge on, it looked like a training top to me, and we have a good number in stock.

I think the money could be better spent to be honest, especially if their job is basically to offer out a bit of advice here and there. I struggle to think on a day-to-day basis what would they actually be doing if they weren’t involved in the coaching? And what would happen if the head coach didn’t like the suggestions from the football advisor, would they have to basically do as they say? I get the idea and wouldn’t be totally against it if it’s not a wasted wage. I just think actually having a more experienced No.2/First-team coach would be a more effective way of solving this problem.

I completely get why people are thinking Steffan Hojer could be the next head-coach. It matches up as a valid reason as to why nothing has be announced yet, we are going to have to wait until the Denmark's time in the U21 Euros concludes. And there is the Viborg and Danish link, ok he wasn't at Viborg when the Brothers got involved but I'm sure they'll be Viborg staff who were there and could have recommended him. Feels like there's going to be a lot of Notts fans watching that Denmark v France quarter final now!

I wouldn’t like to take Notts off the Bros because I think they’ll do a better job than I ever would be able to! One of the best things about Chris and Alex is that they aren't supporters like us, they don’t react in the same way a fan would. That said if could be involved in someway I’d would do it. Near where I live now the biggest city is Worcester but their football side is well below the level it could and should be considering around 100,000 people live in the city. They have just been promoted to the Southern League Central and inherited the old Worcester Warriors stadium which has a capacity of 12,000 and could be expanded – not that you’d have to worry about that too soon as I think the average crowd is about 1,000! I’d probably buy them and look to work my way up the leagues with them, I wouldn’t do anything daft and spend a fortune trying to tempt League/National League players on big wages, I’d look to invest in the infrastructure, coaching and a bit like Notts get a little recruitment team that could help find some better players.

Nice to see they’ve stayed in touch, you could tell there was a real harmony to that promotion winning team. Great to see Bajrami looking well though, to have had back-to-back ACL injuries is awful luck. I can’t see why not @Chris, but he’ll probably be incredibly nervous when he first gets back playing next season, I really hope he can stay injury free for a while. Still think Cedwyn should’ve stayed with us, but if he’s happier elsewhere that’s what really matters.

I can't believe he got a 6 match ban for that! Seems way too harsh it was all handbags stuff after the challenge. Threatening behaviour, really? Are the Wimbledon players children or something? Are we sure it's not just clarifying it's a 3 match ban, surely they would've said additional 3 matches? It's slightly ambiguous wording to me or at least that's what I'm hoping! Anyway, back to the original question I don't think the club would want to sell him but as we've found out with Macca and Crowley if a club comes in with a price that they think more than matches or excels their valuation of him then he could well be sold. And it also depends a bit on which club comes in for him, if it was a Championship club or a club from a top tier league in another county, Jatta himself might feel it's an opportunity to good to turn down.

I still don't think it would've taken this long if we wanted to get Luke Williams back, even with the issue of compensation from Swansea. From our perspective the board know everything about him and wouldn't have really even needed to interview him. I just can't see why it would take a month to get him back, especially when they've known he's been available since February. Surely we'll hear something by the end of the week now though, it'll be pre-season soon!

This is Grimsby's new shirt for next season. The trim, the sponsor, the umbro logo all matching and tying to the red in the badge is superb. (Even if the sponsor is a tad large). I can't tell if the Rotherham shirt is a image that has been watermarked or if the shirt actually has some text and checkerboard within the black. If it's actually the design I don't think it really works on the stripes, looks a tad messy to me.

I’m sure a few season ago Juventus has a kind of jagged striped shirt, I quite like that and we've not ever had anything like that. Might upset the traditionalists though! What I’m really hoping for is that big red John Pye sponsor in the middle, that definitely doesn’t clash, again. That way we can continue to stick two fingers up at those colour theorists who think they know better!

My wild theory behind the delay relates to how we've had issues with the assistant head-coaches in previous seasons, Maurice Ross lasted about a week and then the Saunders Brothers left right in the middle of a promotion challenge with no other job lined up. (Completely not suspicious at all!). It meant the Luke Williams era aside, we’ve ended up with very inexperienced assistants both Doyle and Alves had to step in, and no disrespect, both were and are in their very early stages of their coaching careers. I wonder if we are trying to put a coaching team together, as opposed to just selecting a head coach and then letting him bring in whoever he wants? I agree it's probably more likely it’s all sorted and the new head-coach is/has been on holiday so will officially be unveiled when they return. I’m sure we’ve selected someone by now as it’s been nearly 4 weeks since Stuart departed (and the Bros & Roberto will have probably started planning long before that even happened!)

I only realised after a quick google search that there is another Joao Alves too. And he’s a Portuguese footballer who used to play for Benfica, Boavista and Portugal in the 70s & 80s. He’s managed a lot of teams too and at the ripe old age of 72 you can’t say he’s not experienced, imagine if the odds have been referring to him!

So the big positives for me are the leadership skills and how he's a player who does get stuck in and is not going to be phased by the physical side of this league. But I agree with @allardyces tash it now feels like we have too many deep lying midfield options. Hinchy, Palmer and Norburn will all surely want to play the same position will they not? I've no idea how if a Palmer Norburn partnership would work either, would they be too similar?

We’ll have the squad ready for next season before the new head coach is announced at this rate! That said I don’t really get this signing to be fair, his stats in the National League with York are a lot less impressive, he dropped back down into the National League North so it’s no surprise he had a better season as he was facing much weaker opposition, does our model factor this in? He also played pretty much all his matches as a winger at Kidderminster too, unless we are changing formation slightly next season and playing wingers, I struggle to see where he fits in. Right now I can only say this feels like a filler/squad player and we don’t need that. I’d have rather kept Whitaker or Austin to be honest… 100% want to be proven wrong though.

I agree I think all we've done by getting a big-name coach in Tuchel is sky-rocket the expectation and that'll only increase the pressure to win even more. I feel we are going to be very disappointed after the World Cup next year... As for the U21 Euros, I caught the end of the Slovakia Spain match earlier in the week that was good and then I watched the England match. I think their next match is on Sunday at 5pm, I'll probably watch that too.

I watched a bit of the England U21's as they are in the Euro's this month and I've seen the Club World Cup adverts on Channel 5 that starts soon. And the Women's Euros are at the end of the month too, Notts might not be playing but the football seemingly never ends! I check the Notts social media each day but even in the quiet periods I don't get wound up about the lack of news. Although I am eagerly awaiting the announcement of our new head coach, I really thought we'd hear something this week. Surely that'll be announced sometime next week now. As for filling my empty Saturdays, I do like to get on my bicycle now the weather has improved. Usually I'll plan a bit of route, avoiding the busiest roads and pot-holed lanes and then go off for an hour or two.

Yeah no shortage of great goals there, but my favourite was the little chip against Gillingham. As for team goal, you don’t really see it but the goal against Forest Green was good, it was a really quick and well executed break I think Jodi ran half the length of pitch before picking him out.

Two number 10s would be my absolute top priorities given we’ve lost Didzy, Crowley and Whitaker. Grant is a bit of an enigma and Edwards just really struggled after his injury. It’s such a key position for how we play, unless we are going to set-up slightly differently we need some real quality here. In League 2 I think Jack Payne is probably the next best attacking midfielder, he would be great for us, but I can’t see that transfer happening. I agree we need another centre back, back-up keeper and possibly another wingback too.

I would say the Football League World site is definitely more credible than someone just posting on social media, they had the story about us signing Matthew Dennis and back in January they reported that we were going to sign Whitaker, which we did... They certainly don’t just make things up. Because of this I’d be inclined to think that holding talks Norburn is something the club has done, but I’m sure they’ll be other clubs interested in him too. I would’ve thought he was a little bit out of our league in terms of wages but I guess with Didzy leaving that makes this more of a possibility. He’s a decent League 1 player so he’d be a good/very good League 2 player. As for Jamie Walker, only got 16 starts for Bradford this season I can't say I know much about him but if was really good surely he'd have started a lot more matches (and Bradford would've wanted to keep him).

The longer the wait the more I'd be inclined to think someone who is currently available is less likely, just because it's easier and quicker to get sorted. I get both Plymouth and Cardiff have been looking for new managers but are we really going to attract the managers/coaches they've been talking to? These are clubs that will want to and are capable of going straight back up into the Championship. What we are doing is great and yes it's a project here, but in my eyes we are in very differing scenarios. Obviously hope I'm wrong and I'll be the first to celebrate the arrival of Des Buckingham!

In the last statement about the new head of performance the club stated 'As well as introducing our new coaching team, we’ll be announcing a restructuring of our football department’. Now maybe I'm reading way too much into it/ reading it wrong, but could the club be kind putting a team of coaches together to then work under a new head-coach? Usually you sign a head-coach and he brings his own staff, but we are so much less obvious and predictable in our approach now something like this would not surprise me. Maybe some of these names that have appeared more recently and low in the odds will form a part of the coaching staff but not be the actual head-coach...
