  1. @DeadlyMacca take your time, there is no need to rush just because macca left. there are some really good suggestions here.
  2. the bench is going to look much stronger tho, with a few places being harder to decide from. it does give stuart maynard plenty of options. i think it will be a mix between @Chris and @ARLukomski suggestions.
  3. there are still areas where we could do with adding depth but i think the squad should be good enough to land a playoff spot. if the form builds, i see no reason why automatics would not be possible but football is not always that simple. it will be good if we can get some excellent results early on and then we might see some promising signs. I am glad we have focused on tightening up the defence.
  4. it would have been a magical season for them but the hardest thing would be to retain the players, i think many would have still be off had they lost the final. they proved that they have good players and clubs would be more intent in signing their best talent. at least promotion will attract a good standard of players in the likely event that they are relegated they should be strong enough to do well in league two.
  5. he should be a good signing for them, its a shame its not us but stockport do like to have a strong attacking option.
  6. thank you @Fan of Big Tone and @super_ram, i do feel much better now.
  7. i dont see it as being a negative it just allows larger squads to make full use of its players, it might benefit teams who have a bigger budget as their bench might be stronger than others but thats the off take situation you have to accept. i think the national league being dated really showed why it is important to have more subs and more players named on the bench. tactically and for fitness reasons it makes much more sense than not.
  8. i think jatta will score a lot more playing regularly, hes a natural finisher and has proven himself already. i know people say he only scored just over two handfuls last season but that is good considering its his first time in england. it was a good decision in the end to sign him as he helped last year and will do much this year. a quick striker would be nice, but morias does have some pace. so jatta should thrive as our main striker.
  9. football history is good to read up on, especially notts.
  10. i am not surprised, i think kyle walker did well and at 34 he was faster than most players. i wished he had been a little more defensive in the final but it does take take from his performance. nobody else from the england team deserves to be listed.
  11. it does change much in my opinion. i think its a very valid point that would be killers, especially mass shooters would find a way to get hold of a gun. its too easy to get hold of a weapon in the us, they do nothing to make it difficult. i know they have checks, but i have read that even this can be overlooked. it reminds me of the story i once read about people trying to sue gun manufactures.
  12. graham potter has not done enough to warrant the position. its like handing the role to frank lampard, steven gerrard or wayne rooney just because they were legends. none of them have enough about themselves, i think its important the role is given on merit. instead of what they could do or down to inspiration. whoever does takeover from gareth southgate will have a straight forward task in comparison to what southgate had to do. mauricio pochettino no. thomas tuchel no. having managed in england and having done elsewhere is not enough in my eyes. its the same with jurgen klopp, although i think out of all the foreign managers he is the best. eddie howe needs more experience, landing the newcastle job will be like a dream come true with the money they will now have. he could help guide them to being one of the top six teams. lee carsley i am not against because he fits what gareth southgate did and will know the players on the verge of becoming regular first team internationals.
  13. ha haha! ???? i love how the magpie is calm enough to act like its not even following the cat, if the cat did not react it might not be as funny and i do wonder what the magpie was aiming to do if this was the case.
  14. as the head coach, i dont think stuart maynard will have much to do with things outside of this area. i am sure he will have input to transfers and what is needed, but that will be handled more by others. it gives him a clearer focus imo, to focus on training, strategies, tactics and the general development of the players. i would imagine that his role involves less of the business side, including scouting and financial.
  15. i have never seen the full game but i have seen extended highlights and a lot of clips of it over the years, it would have been something special and to see a united england would be nice. does anyone know why england wore red when they were the home team and it allowed germany to wear white?
  16. judging the advert i would say late 60s to early 70s. i cant find anything searching google, but the advert does look very late 60s and early 70s. i would be surprised if it was later and in the 80s.
  17. i dont care that jurgen klopp is german, i am sure he would do the role proudly and with honour. i just dont think foreign coaches are the best fit. if we were to look elsewhere, klopp is one i would agree with. knowing england, we will end up with roberto martinez due to his experience having managed belgium and portugal. amongst the english clubs he managed, but again i think it would be the wrong decision. i am not sure what english managers i would like, eddie howe would be great one day but not right now.
  18. imagine what would happen if wealdstone beat us? all those against stuart maynard would be out, rumours will emerge of him losing on purpose etc. or, people could just accept we are in pre season and results mean nothing. after the wycombe win, i think this will be another good run out to see how the trialists are doing. i think sooner or later we may see one or two permanently join us.
  19. i lock my front gate when i am home so nobody can gain access to my property. nobody wants to try to claim over the wall, as it has thorns and other nasties but looks nice from the outside.
  20. people saying 'mansfield reject' ???? crawley paid a disclosed fee, that says he had something that they thought was worth paying for and he helped them gain promotion. now arriving to us on a free. give him the chance to prove himself without coming out with dumb negativity. he seems a good option going forward, we need to remind ourselves that aaron nemane and jodi jones are very defensive. if we can attack and hold the ball, along with a solid defensive back three then the wing backs only need to support. i like the fact he seems to have plenty of pace, that is enough to cause players to make mistakes. hopefully he settles and shows he is a good player. seems a good signing to me.
  21. the articles from 2003? so what was the final outcome? it sounds like notts had some people involved that knew how to bend things to their favour, not many fans i know speak that well of darren caskey though.
  22. its just wrong, to officiate a game and then celebrate with the winners. unbiasedness goes out of the window when this happens, as i could not trust someone who had done this to make the right calls in the game. then again, referees do love the limelight.
  23. notts easily. i like watching major tournaments england are in and i do hope that one day in my life time that they win something, but notts is far more important to me. i am far more hopeful that notts will make it to the championship or higher, even if its just for one season. otherwise i am content just seeing notts aiming to go further.
  24. i have started to come down with a bug, i feel sleepy and blocked up. i plan just to rest until i go back to work.
  25. here are some comments which deserve to be read: @Super_Danny_Allsopp @Wheelbarrow repair man @menzinho @Countyman @TheSkipper @Robbie @super_ram @RetroPie @BESTpie @DangerousSausage
