So, what can be said about the once voted 'most stressful club' some years ago? Well, the last few years have brought us relegation battles, false promises from rich owners, and more managers than Betty has made hot pots.   It's been a season so far of ifs and buts, hasn't it? It certainly has for me. What if Ricardo Moniz was given sole responsibility for player recruitment? What if he was allowed to choose his own backroom team? What if Izale McLeod was given a strike part

A lot has been said during the period whereby Alan Smith was rumoured to be joining Plymouth Argyle, which I must admit I wasn’t all that bothered about. However, I do think Smith will be a great coach and someone ideal to have around as a backroom member of staff. It’s just hard to envision him playing week in and out for Notts, perhaps as a part player who can make an impact in the important games – whereby a little grit in midfield will help Notts in those tough matches?

I have no doubt in my mind what is required by our new manager Jamie Fullarton, yet I wonder what his assessment of the squad will be - will he agree with us fans that the squad is simply too big? There's no dismissal that the quality of our defending must improve, it's simply not adequate and if there are any signings to be made during this January transfer window - it must be a centre back. And I hope that he is sincere when he says that

So, after just under a fortnight of waiting, Notts County have their new manager. Ricardo Moniz's promise of attacking football did not translate well in League Two, a division full of plodders and sluggers, and so he paid the price just after Christmas with the Magpies in the bottom half of the table. Since the departure of Keith Curle, the Magpies have been in freefall. From a top-half League One table, we deteriorated season upon season until, in May 2015, we h

My first tweet following the news of Ricardo Moniz’s sacking was along the lines of the managerial merry-go-round still turning at Notts. Sadly on this occasion, I do agree with the decision to make a change and I think the timing is perfect.  I wasn’t in favour of Shaun Derry’s departure, partly because of the man himself but mainly because of the timing of his sacking. Despite the fact he had been at the helm while we dropped like a stone towards the relegation
