Just back from watching Mansfield lose 1-4 at home to Bury. Certainly cheered me up after Saturday's game! They are really struggling and it won't surprise me if they drop back into the Conference next season. But what really took me by surprise was some very heavy-handed stewarding with the stewards just looking for people to eject among their own fans, for the slightest reason. In the end, they homed in on their drummer allegedly for making an obscene gesture. We were sat near them as they decided to target him and to make sure that his drum was ejected with him!!!! Clearly the home fans aren't encouraged to create an atmosphere at Field Mill.

The future is looking bleak for Eastwood Town, I really hope they can find some kind of settlement to this problem, I would hate for them to disappear. http://www.footballtradedirectory.com/news/2014/february/evostik-npl-division-1-south-side.html

Big game on Sky Sports 2 tonight from Northern Ireland, as Glentoran host bitter rivals Linfield. Two clubs I visited in the summer, and traditionally Ulster's big two clubs. This is a big rivalry in Ulster, based not on religion, but on footballing tradition. The two have won the Northern Irish league & Cup more than anyone else, and there's rarely a dull game between the two. There's rarely a game ending with 11 players on each side either! This season Glentoran are struggling for consistency with a poor home record, and have lost their last 2 matches to 2 of the bottom 3. They're currently 5th and their aim will be to finish in the top 3 for Europa League f…

When you know who changed ours, it took me awhile to 'accept' it. I refused to change the old sites badge, however whilst we was celebrating our 150th year. I was very tempted to change to that, it was very nice in my opinion. Here's Brentfords... I don't get the choice of 'white', it's nice but for me it would be labelled under 'doesn't fit the image'. It's not what you'd expect, however despite where I located the news - It's not poorly designed. It's quite slick but it doesn't fit the image of Brentford or their market. Quite a few of their fans are complaining, quite rightly so because I wouldn't like it if I was a fan their club. Yet for the year I would accept …

after the blades won tonight we are back in relegation zone and saturday home tie against shrewsberry is now a vital win as anything less would see us having to do the great escape. A win for us and a lost for trammere crew and crawley would see us climb out the bottom three. I don't think i could face the great escape sat there having to check sore from other grounds and starting the prayer I'm alone here or not.

Can all those who haven't read @super_ram's excellent article on the early history of the FA Cup please do so otherwise you will be accused of procrastination (look it up) and you don't want that. It's all about the FA Cup when Super was a lad and they kicked pigs bladders around. Seriously it is an excellent article and the old boy has obviously taken a lot of time and trouble to write it, I know I couldn't do it, so have a read and see what you think. http://www.prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/media/the-fa-cup-early-years-r250

I believe this is good news for us on two counts. 1. We love to see that lot get turned over especially by the lowest team left on the competition. 2. The longer Sheff Utd's cup run lasts the more the players will lose focus on their league plight.

We all desperately hope that Notts keep their League 1 status although, as I've said, I can't rate our chances better than 50/50. Those games that others had over us unfortunately seem to be turning into more points than you would hope for. Bristol C especially seem to have rallied and I see them pulling clear. So my question is this: If Notts are to survive then name me four clubs that are likely to take the fall this season. Whatever four I come up with I can list three certain fallers, but the fourth in my reckoning is Notts. We have no consistency whereas Cotterill is now drilling that into Bristol.

Read More; Here I'm not happy about this, although I have had time to digest the news. It's very likely that McGregor won't be coming back to us, so I really hope someone else places a big and temps him a way from a rival League One team. Thoughts?

Good result for the Blades, but is playing 120 minutes of football going to harm them in the league? The cameras picked up at least 2 Sheffield players who had cramp toward the end of extra time. Would we prefer to be still in the FA cup, even if it might wear down the players?
