  1. Started by medievalmickey,

Having played well against you on Friday we plumbed the depths last night and were soundly beaten by Walsall. We played much worse than you did last week. Yaser Kasim (15) made more mistakes in the first fifteen minutes than he had in all previous home matches and Massimo Luongo (4) tried to emulate him. Wes Foderingham (1) and Nile Ranger (9) were the only players to gain any credit. Walsall "did their homework" but quite frankly you would have got something last night. Sorry to see you lost against The Gills: I hope things turn round for you soon. I believe an Italian manager may be looking for a new club so watch what you wish for.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that NC has got a job at Sheff Utd. Our loss? I expect they will start to climb the table now on the back of the "new manager syndrome"

Martin Allen's contract has this evening been terminated with immediate effect by Gillingham. They're currently 16th in league one. Gillingham fans reaction to this news has been identical to that of our fans when he left Notts. Funny how it always seems to be a unanimous board decision. I dont think chairman like his character, and also I think many get a bit touchy when fans become so attached to a manager. I'm willing to bet it probably wasn't results based. Kind of sad to see, I'll always have a soft spot for him for the way he came in and revitalised our club.

It may only be the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round but St Neots Town's Rene Steer came up with an early contender for goal of the season in their replay with Canvey Island on Tuesday night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zh-2eGezFeI&feature=youtu.be Imagine how many times Sky Sports News would replay this if it was Garath Bale

For me one of the matches of the day tomorrow will be Chesterfield v Mansfield. Giving their current league positions and in view of the fact that it is always a fiercly fought local derby it should be cracking match. I used to work in Chesterfield and the Spireites hate Mansfield with a passion. I will be routing for Mansfield as Nottinghamshire team and also because as a Notts fan I used to get quite a bit of stick from my Spireite colleagues when at work. So for one day only COME ON YOU STAGS!

Well Mr. McClaren got off to a mixed start. Derby were 4-1 down at home at half time but pulled it back to 4-4. How is @super_ram feeling tonight? I hope he didn't switch the radio off at half time.

It looks like Steve McClaren might be in line for the Derby job, he wasn't very successful with them over the river, what does @super_ram think?

Breaking news just coming out: Derby County have this evening sacked manager Nigel Clough. I for one am stunned, I didn't see this coming at all. To the best of my knowledge, he still had the backing of the fans and after spending a few years re-building the club, sacking him so early in a season when there appears to be hope of a play-off push it very odd indeed. Be very interested to hear what @super_ram makes of it all

In a South West Peninsula Div 1 West match on Saturday, Bude Town went 5-1 up against Vospers Oak Villa with twenty minutes remaining. Final score? Bude Town 5-6 Vospers Oak Villa! Where was that on Sky Sports Goals Express then

Now, no doubt this is a very hard and demanding role to cover. Good referee's don't grow on trees, just like good English players! They've got to be given a chance to step up and even sometimes they will make mistakes but it's got me wondering, how can we improve things? There's some very good ref's in the non league, who are held back by an unfair system. I'd like to see it based on how ref's or assistants actually do, which would be unlikely but the current method isn't exactly working. You can forgive the odd mistake but not several in one game, that is just a joke.

Away from Meadow Lane, I think I would have to say the Emirates Stadium. If they hadn't torn down the Old Wembley I would have no doubt said that. Only for someone to tell me it's not an English League ground!! It doesn't matter really, anywhere within the UK. I do like Pride Park, I think it's a nice stadium and hopefully sooner rather than later I will be able to see it inside. Possible get @super_ram to go for apart of his birthday present and watch Derby play with sons and grandchildren. I'd love to see Jake's reaction, especially if Notts managed to get drawn to them in one of the cups. Come on share yours!

Hull City are rebranding their name to Hull City Tigers for the new Prem League season. Notts could become Notts County Magpies and Derby become Derby County Rams etc. I,personally prefer traditional names and do not care for this type of Americanisation What do you think?

Amazing game at Sixfields today, Coventry beat Bristol City 5-4 in their first "home game" of the season. Coventry led 3-0 at half time but Bristol City pulled it back to 3-3; equalising on 74 minutes, but Coventry went straight up the other end and went 4-3 up. Bristol City again equalised on 85 minutes but just two minutes later, the Sky Blues won it and it ended 5-4 after 8 minutes of added time! Amazing game by the sounds of it! The match was watched by just 2,204 people of which around 1200 were Bristol City fans. Coventry fans certainly cant complain about not getting value for money. They've already seen 19 goals in their opening 3 games! Fair play …

I see our neighbours got off to a bad start to their league campaign. How well do you think they will do this year? I know a lot Notts fans don't like them but try and put your biased to one side and tell us below how you think they will fare and where they will finish. I personally think they will have a difficult time in the league and may struggle to stay up, personally I hope they do but I fear that they may not get the best of starts and their manager Paul Cox (ex Notts player and Eastwood Town manager) may get the chop early on in this campaign. However we will see, what's your views.

I'm going to watch Derby v Blackburn this afternoon on Sky (might as well get my money's worth while I've got it), so good luck to the Rams and I hope you get off to a winning start. I'll be interested to see if Alan Judge plays and what sort of a game he has. I know @super_ram will be either at the match, in a pub watching and having a pint of real ale, or listening on the radio, enjoy the game Super.

How do you think they will do this season? There have been rumours that there isn't as much money coming from the new owners as was hoped and they could have another Munto on their hands but things seem to have settled down recently and they have made some impressive signings that cost money. If there is one team I want to fail it is them but I fear that they may have a good season again and be there or thereabouts at the end of the season, it all depends on Billy Kranky being satisfied with the money he has available and the squad he has put together. I think he is a very good manager and he if stays with them as I say I think they could do well. Your view?

I see Preston have given Kevin Davies a two year contract at 36 years old. I think he could be very useful in this league but is a two year contract a bit much? Would you have signed him for Notts?

The UK seems to have some real betting addictions, although Football doesn't seem to mind. I recall the fuss about Liverpool being sponsored by Carlsberg - as similar with other clubs like Blackburn who I believe dropped McEwans lager (if I didn't dream that). Now the betting world is quickly taking over, which is just odd from my point of view. Everywhere is now advertising gambling sites, Sky Bet's purchased the rights to the Football League. We now play in Sky Bet's League One!! Is it just me or do you agree that the governing bodies should have more sense. I'm very aware that it's due to £££ but it's probably one of the worst names they could have dealt with. B…
