Jon Stead rejects America interest to sign new Notts County deal
Jon Stead has put pen to paper on a new contract at Notts County. During the 2016-17 campaign, the 34-year-old was the Magpies' highest scorer with 14 goals, and he won the League Two Player of the Month award for September. There was interest from the United States for Stead, who was sidelined by injury midway through the season, but he has now committed his future to Meadow Lane and he says he is "delighted" with the decision. He told the official club site: "It took me a while to make sure it was the right thing for me and the family, but it definitely is and I can't wait to get going. "I want to be here. It's exciting times - there's a real buzz about the place. You don't want to be looking from the outside and wishing you'd been involved. "I know the gaffer sees me playing a big part in his team and that's all you want to hear as a player." Manager Kevin Nolan added: "He doesn't only bring goals, but his all-round play, experience and professionalism are first class. "He's the type of player any manager would love to have in their dressing room." It is unconfirmed how long the new deal is for, but it is believed to be for one year. Joe Jones: Notts County are in good stead to make most of loan market
I think that extra quality we require will no doubt emerge from the loan market, I know most will want to avoid it - yet if we are smart and recruit in the right players. We might actually see some budding talent at the lane again. Use the budget to get good league experience, add the power and quality from the loan market. Kevin Nolan will have his contacts.

Mitre Delta: Pride of Nottingham reviews the official EFL 2017/18 match ball
It's a stunning design for a football, very nicely done! If there's one thing which Mitre does best - its their footballs. The quality is amazing and compared to the traditional leather its fun to play with. The Mitre Delta is a premium ball at it's best. For me it's a lot nicer than any of the Nike or other football's I have held/kicked.

Juventus Update: May 2017
I honestly don't feel the Champions League final can take anything a way from Juventus, I am very proud of them and delighted for their fans (especially those I know). Two teams in great form met in the final and sadly Real Madrid was just unstoppable. I don't agree with the fault people express on social media to Buffon - he's still a great keeper. Just pleased things are continuing for them.

Neil Warnock: 'Working with Derek Pavis one of the happiest times of my life'
I think the friendship between Neil Warnock and Derek Pavis is there for all to see, unlike Big Sam - Neil rejected a move to Chelsea and despite things not working quite out here. The success they shared is further evidence that they made a good duo, I sincerely hope we have this in Nolan and Hardy. Derek seemed to be a genuine person who looked after people and the few times I met him, he came across as a lovely gentleman.

Alan Hardy pays tribute to Derek Pavis
The news has shocked the community, I probably shouldn't write this - yet I will because I am pleased nobody has been negative to my knowledge. I am very aware that some dislike the fact that we as a club sold key players but on the other hand we gained in other areas. I feel Derek always tried his best for the club and pleased to see him respected for this.

Notts County fans pay tribute to Derek Pavis
It was very saddening to learn about his death, as I mentioned in the forum - I was hoping it wasn't true. However, his legacy will live on and thanks to Derek we have a great stadium which can be modernised quite easily if we was ever to return to the Championship. I hope we use this season as a way to pay respect to various lost people from the Notts community. Rest in Peace Derek Pavis.

Notts County launch month-by-month shirt sponsorship package
It will be a gamble financially but at least the focus is on local businesses, lets face it we missed out a good thing with Ladbrookes and really this provide us a way to move forward - there won't be many companies willing to spend a large some to sponsor a shirt no matter what team it is. This is a good idea to combat that.

Notts Alumni: James "Jimmy" Logan
I was surprised by the lack of information found on this great man once upon a time, I tried to write a piece on the winners of the FA Cup about 4 years ago and there was literally nothing online. Thankfully there's been a lot of effort made to preserve the interest in his long lasting memory and due to that more information can be found. No doubt one of the best Alumni pieces though Joe, you have done us proud here! Rest in Peace James Logan.

Lewis Alessandra: 'my instincts told me I will be successful at Notts County'
Notts County's latest signing Lewis Alessandra feels his instincts told him he will be successful with Notts after he became the clubs second signing of the summer. The Magpies secured the services of the wide-man from Hartlepool United on a two-year deal after fending off serious competition from Port Vale and successfully agreeing terms for a five-figure fee for his services. Alessandra says he is also keen to experience success at the club and believes he has found the right club in order to fulfil his ambitions. "We've just got to start the season well and go from there, you don't want to be playing catch-up." "If you can keep the good players fit then you never know what can happen. If you look at Notts' form since the gaffer came in then you'd like to think we can do well." "But I am at an age now where I am 28 and want to be successful." "That was probably one of the main reasons why I came here because my instinct told me that I will be successful here." Notts County still target Forest playmaker Jorge Grant as a summer recruit, with Magpies' chairman Alan Hardy stating his desire to see Grant return to Meadow Lane. Notts County 2017-18 pre-season fixtures
I'll be there at both the home games, will try to get to most of these. Once the league fixtures come out in June, I'm sorting out which away games I will be making.
