  1. It’s not very often that I watch England play. I rarely catch the friendlies and it’s only major tournaments where I do watch. I go out of my way for them, but friendlies are different and with other commitments, it doesn’t come high on my priority list.
  2. There are some moves that make me wonder what clubs see in a player. Kairo Mitchell tried but he was rubbish, to be blunt. One of the worst, if not the worst signing made during the Reedtz era.
  3. It was all one route; Malta only looked bright through Jodi Jones. There was nothing he could do when the players in his team were nervous, incapable or just star-struck. It wasn’t a flattering performance for them.
  4. CEOs are pretty standard; they manage people and look at ways to improve the business. They should have a fairly easy job coming into Notts. Their first priority for me would be to inform the fans and keep up the personalised approach that Jason Turner made so frequently when he needed to update us. After that, just make sure the staff are doing what they should be and are actually answering emails. I think the ticket office could do with some work too.
  5. The likelihood of him making it into the Liverpool squad seems little, but he has matured a lot through their system. He looks quite able on the wing, so I wouldn’t be against seeing him sign.
  6. It feels like the last 4 years have been some ride; that’s for certain. The thing about dreams is that eventually they end and I don’t think with the stewardship we have right now that failure is something the club will know. The recruitment makes a big difference.
  7. Promotion is the buzz. There’s no doubt it could play out nicely for Notts, but they have to keep working hard, which I’m sure they will do. Promotion is only part of the journey. Putting together a good set of lads with real quality is there. I think we’ve achieved the latter and should be able to move forward with them.
  8. It’s very good news that he has agreed to a 2-year deal. I think he will form a great partnership with whoever plays at the back this season and prove we are much stronger going forward.
  9. I have every faith in Kyle Cameron as the captain to help us go that one step further. With talk of promotion and how things have been during the last campaign, all the players should fancy their chances. It’s good news to know he’s committed. Hopefully, it will silence the people moaning that he didn’t sign first. The guy is entitled to some private time after having such a good season.
  10. Jim is a good player and I would rather see him retire on his own terms than allow some of the mindless people who supposedly support Notts to drive him out. I guarantee that Jim knows he’s supported by the majority of fans. As previously said, his fitness levels are insane and if he continues to push himself, why not give us another year? He can think about retirement at the end of the season. He’s got a job to do now and I want to see him give his all as he always does.
  11. Well said, @Chris. I think your dad is a real shining light for the community. His friendly comments and wit are something that brightens up conversations. @super, don’t be so modest. People here appreciate you. Thanks for all you have done to help PON.
  12. It will be a tough game for Malta. I bet Jodi is excited about playing against some of the world’s best. I can imagine he and his teammates will try to close the space England finds. He may do more defending than attacking, but I am wishing he gets to have a good run out regardless.
  13. Tony sounds like a true Notts fan. I also hope we can make a return to League One, but I am happy just to see the club building in the right way. That will eventually lead to success. It’s a good story, this one. Well done, Tony.
  14. This is a brilliant story of a fan’s background and history of supporting Notts. He’s right, some fans are fickle, but many are superb and have backed this club all the way. Some just like to moan a bit too much; it’s more about their character. Great story.
  15. As I said in the article, Jim is an important squad player and him staying on for another season is a blessing. On the back of Ruben’s departure, it’s good to see the current longest-serving player agree to a new deal. It’s a boost for the whole team.
  16. Seeing Jim extend his stay is a blessing; imagine if we lost both him and Ruben? While some might not be disappointed with the latter, he is by all means an important squad member.
  17. Dean Leacock wasn’t a bad player for Notts; I don’t think some of the hate he got was deserved, but I admit it was frustrating to see him being bothered by his short hair. Connell Rawlinson barely bothers about his; he’s got a lot more of it!
  18. @DangerousSausage, are you well-versed in German football? Has this been on the news a lot over there? Like @liampie, I am surprised to have only learned about this on a Notts County fan site instead of a more mainstream site. PS. The topicfeed seems to be misplacing the location of replies, this ended up in a thing about Jodi Jones. ????
  19. I like the style and approach Jodi Jones brings to his performance. He has ability and knows what he can or can’t do. He can absorb the pressure. It’s a good video clip of his contributions to Malta.
  20. They have signed a cracking player who can give them an edge in League One. I think Oxford will be in the running for the playoffs, maybe upper mid-table, but Ruben now has the chance to push on with his career. I just hope they don’t end up selling him for a silly fee, as we have clearly lost out.
  21. I think Oxford United have signed a very confident player who, with the right support, will make a difference to their team. Oxford have been trying to get into the Championship and I think Ruben will help with that. I wish him the best of luck and am also saddened to see him leave Notts.
  22. I am disappointed that he has left for Oxford United. It’s not the biggest step up and I would have thought we could push for promotion. In the end, it should all work out. Ruben Rodrigues has been a vital player for Notts and that is something he will have left behind.
  23. Charlie sure knows how to tell them. I agree with others who say it reflects well on McGoldrick. It would be hard for a footballer to attend many games while actively playing, yet it’s still good to think he came to show his support.
  24. We’ll have to wait and see how things go, won’t we? Just because I haven’t heard of him or most of the people who replied doesn’t mean he doesn’t have talent.
  25. Yes, it’s a good thing that he ended up being caught and banned. Sometimes they manage to burst back into the stands and hide amongst their friends, which makes it hard. Usually, most do get caught.
