Erm, no, definitely not. A Transgender female is still not a biological female and should not be participating in top class female sport, otherwise why are so many top female athletes against their inclusion if there is no physical advantage? Where can they compete? They can if they decided to trans before puberty, if they didn’t, then they have to compete with the gender they were post puberty. Regarding Quinn who plays for Canada, she was a woman before becoming non binary, so has never had the physical advantage of being a male. In that case I am fine with it, just as I would be if a non binary biological male wanted to continue in male sport.

Not watched any of it to be honest and didn’t even know we had played until I saw this thread. I might watch a bit of the final if we get to it but I just can’t get on with the women’s game. Yes, it has improved a lot in recent years but it’s just not for me. I hope we do well, as I do with all England sides in all sports.

Apparently he played well last night and Tom Williams has done a thread on Twitter about him. Looks to potentially be a very promising young player and could be the ideal candidate for the RCB role we need. He looks quick, decent passing range and can head the ball, will make the odd mistake, but young players do so could be worth the gamble.

Doubt Utd will reconnect with their fan base until the Glazers are finally out of the club. I’ve seen reports that United have bid for Onana, who I think is a pretty average keeper. De Gea’s performances have dropped off the last 2 to 3 years, before that he was their player of the year for several seasons running and fully deserved it at the time. The issue now is that he’s not the best with his feet, which Ten Hag needs for his style of play. Time for him to walk away and sign for a club that actually wants him?

No complaints over the score line, as the tourists have been the better side over the last two tests, but some of their actions have left me shaking my head. I knew straight away that the Starc catch was invalid as he grounded the ball trying to stop himself sliding, but that was probably more a case of the player not knowing the law than trying to cheat. Cricket used to be played hard and fair with mutual respect amongst the players, not anymore by the look of things.

Used to use Firefox avidly, but it became too unreliable so moved away from it. Now I use Edge as it’s the standard browser at work, or Chrome when on my home laptop. I did also use to use Opera which was nice and speedy, but a bit basic. Majority of the time now I am on Safari from my mobile devices and use it without thinking.

Yesterday was just a case of having a trip to B&Q for some sand and cement as I’m laying some ground drainage around my conservatory. Followed that up with the weekend shop and the managed to get a game of golf in in the afternoon. Went to the Derbyshire County show today at Elvaston, absolute scorcher and came back with a nice bit of sunburn. Highlight of the day was seeing Kaleb Cooper from Clarkson’s Farm, absolute gent and has a great work ethic which leaves you in no doubt that TV gets in the way of what he enjoys most. He set a great example to the kids there and genuinely looked pleased to meet people. Got to admit though, both the Nottinghamshire County show and the Ploughing match knock spots off the show as a day out, they’re far superior.

This is our first new addition of the summer where I’m a little underwhelmed and he seems a bit of a “meh” signing to be honest. Didn’t have a very good season last year and struggled to get into the side and made quite a few mistakes in seems. I was expecting a much bigger upgrade on Sam to be honest, which is disappointing. Not the biggest and can get stuck to his line at set pieces. That being said, he does have potential and the management must think they can extract that in order to gamble on him. I hope they’re right and I will back him when he plays, and it looks like he is better on the ball than Sam which might be their main thinking. Brooks will be loaned out for the season I’m guessing, but he will need to go to either a National League side or a top of the table NLN side for it to be a worthwhile loan, anything less and I can see us releasing him next May.

He will be direct cover for Langstaff but I also think he may be used in wide areas. We are currently not sure how we are going to line up next season as everyone assumes that we will play the same system, but we could possibly change to 4 at the back with 2 wingers.

Funnily enough, at the time the Lord Mayor of Nottingham tweeted out her congratulations to the red plague staying up, but was completely silent a few days before when we won promotion. She soon took the post down when the only replies she got were from Notts fans (including me) slaughtering her for her bias. I bet the council are very happy that we’ve turned them down, but I would have done it at the 11th hour after they had put some effort into it, just to spite them.

As mentioned on here, I was in Athens for a few days a few weeks ago. Before that we had a long weekend in Great Yarmouth which turned out to be better than we thought it would be. For the rest of this year, we’ll be off on a cruise for week in August covering the western Mediterranean,and we will be off again in October to Prague for a few days. Plans for next year include Lanzarote, Madeira, another cruise and Morocco. We never go away for more than a week as we start getting bored and most of our trips only cover 3 to 4 days.

We don’t have a great record of signing players from Liverpool, who was the last decent one, Steve Nicol? Premier league academy sides don’t pull up many tree in the EFL trophy and most only have 1 or 2 decent players with a lot of padding, and they ruin more careers than they create. That aside, I think the best chance he would have of coming back to Notts would be to have a trial, but would he be willing to do that and would we be willing to fill a squad spot with him.

You’re right @liampie, I used to be an avid cricketer (played 3 times a week) until I had to pack up through injury and still follow all my past village teams results closely. Been to what I call all the original test grounds apart from Lords and the Oval and always want England & Nottinghamshire to win. Funnily enough though I don’t watch it much anymore as I don’t own posh telly nowadays, so content with listening to it on the radio when I get time.

That's the problem as I cannot think of any player that has played in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in their career. That's why I originally went with Paddy McCourt as he has played in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Totally Left field guess is Mark Briggs.

Very happy with this as I think LW got another level out of Jim that we haven’t seen before. One more year is great as he is worth several points a season just from his presence in the dressing room. Just need KC to agree now and my prediction of keeping 5 out of the 7 will be spot on!

At his age, he was always going to go, I’m surprised though that he has. Gone to another English club as I thought he would return to the continent. Obviously he has fallen in love with the English game and he has probably gone to the club that offered him the most money from league 1. It is probably his only big pay day in his career unless he is sensational and a club from the championship comes in to buy him. Oxford are a good family club, but have a poxy ground that only has three sides, we’ll be seeing them soon enough I think and prefer our potential to theirs. Chris Short was a right back and famously had Ryan Giggs in his pocket when we played United at Meadow Lane in the old first division. Played so well that day that Giggs was subbed off. He wasn’t a product of our youth team though. Both he and his brother were signed from Scarborough. I initially thought Wayne Fairclough, but can’t remember if he was a right back or centre back and I think Chris was a product of Forest’s youth team? Don’t think Ivan Hampton had a brother that played for Notts either @Fan of Big Tone, but could be wrong on that as he was way before my time! Question for @CliftonMagpie Did they play together in the Notts first XI at the same time, and which brother made the most appearances?

I won’t drink instant coffee unless I have to as I think it’s vile. I do like a nice cafetiere of coffee, fortnum and mason do some nice blends that we occasionally buy. As far as drinking out is concerned, we normally have a Starbucks if available, with a nice cinnamon swirl. Costa has way too much caffeine in its coffee and leaves me running around like Beaker from the muppets trying to put out a fire! If I have to have a Costa, it’s always a decaf. I have to admit that their sandwiches are decent as they’re from M&S. I sometimes have a Greggs coffee but that’s because I’m on O2, so can have a free one every day if I feel like it and I’ve also started a new job at Notts County Council and they have a 200 degrees coffee stall near reception and that’s OK as well. After all that, I would still rather have a nice cup of everyday tea.

Probably the worst kept secret of the last few months is finally out, I must admit though that a 4 year contract has surprised me. Didn’t look anything special when he played against us this season.
