  1. Freddie Sears, although a highly skilled player and a valuable addition to his new club, seems to be somewhat injury-prone at this juncture of his career.
  2. The direction things are taking suggests that Notts must adhere to the standards set by Luke Williams. It’s a lengthy season with inevitable challenging matches, and there will be teams against which we might have expected better results. However, we will also gain points unexpectedly. The key for Notts is to remain among the leading pack, which at this point would signify a successful season in my view.
  3. I’m not implying that this will necessarily happen, but a robust recruitment policy can sometimes make it more tempting to look elsewhere rather than nurturing and providing opportunities to young players. I’m confident that if Notts remains steadfast, we’ll eventually see several home-grown players in the squad. However, I believe that until we reach the Championship, assuming we do, that’s when the young players will have more opportunities. Likely, league teams will assist with their development while they’re on loan. Notts simply needs to maintain a forward-thinking approach and, as with the academy, ensure nothing diverts the focus even when there are staffing changes. Nurture them, provide opportunities, and who knows what the future holds?
  4. This is the approach I would suggest Notts adopt for the majority of their away games, albeit with a slightly less conservative style while still maintaining control of the ball. In midfield, we possess the capability to retain possession and cause frustration for the opposing team. I was thoroughly impressed with Notts' performance, as they showcased some delightful passing sequences throughout the match.
  5. The transfer from Wigan to their team is undeniably one of the most peculiar moves in football. Like many others, I understand why he chose to join them, but I am perplexed as to why the club desired him.
  6. In my opinion, the selection was the primary concern. It is crucial to strike a delicate balance and not be too lightweight in critical areas.
  7. Regrettably, Harry Maguire remains one of, if not the best centre-backs with substantial experience. His displays while representing England are generally not subpar. It is worth noting that examples such as John Terry and Rio Ferdinand demonstrate biased selections in the past.
  8. I am not at all surprised by this situation. In fact, it wouldn't astonish me if the players intentionally underperformed in order to lead to the dismissal of their former manager. Their performance in League Two has been exceptionally poor, making it one of the worst starts in the league. The lack of success and poor performance certainly raises suspicions about the team's intentions.
  9. I have no doubt that our lads will do us proud. I can see the game being similar to the Accrington Stanley home game, with us taking the lead, only for them to pull level. In the second half, I expect to see a much stronger performance from our team. If we turn on our best football, I think they would struggle because we are the real deal when it comes to passing football. The issue is, they may revert to hoofing the ball, and I’m not sure if we’ll be able to settle it down and play the way we prefer. Our team has shown time and time again that they are capable of playing beautiful, flowing football. When we’re on form, it’s a joy to watch. However, teams like Accrington Stanley can disrupt our rhythm by resorting to long balls and physical play. It’s up to us to rise above that and impose our style of play on the game. If we can do that, I have no doubt that we’ll come away with a positive result.
  10. It’s strange, but it probably makes sense; there’s nothing between Neal and the club. Whatever Neal Bishop does, I wish him well.
  11. Likewise, I think the only answer is Adam Chicksen. I wouldn’t start Sam Austin, as we may need him to play behind the strikers, but he could do the role. As for Jim O’Brien, I think his experience is best used in midfield, where he can contribute more and have players around him who can assist if necessary. I could see him being targeted out wide.
  12. Great news for Jodi Jones. Good luck to him on international duty with Malta.
  13. Ruben is a good player. I would imagine he’s still sobering up from his partying after our promotion. In all seriousness, not all players hit the ground running. Oxford fans just need to be patient.
  14. It’s great to be top of the league. I hope we get a chance to celebrate this more often throughout the season. It will be a positive sign of how we are doing and where we might go come the end of it.
  15. Football is very inflated these days. I know some Notts fans thought we could sell Macaulay Langstaff for over £5 million. That would be over the odds, even though he had a great season last year. It’s just the way the transfer market is these days; when clubs don’t want to sell, they ask for more until they will part ways.

  20. It was a magical day for Notts today. They made some mistakes, but they did well to recover from them. Securing the win to go top, it feels like an incredible achievement. Macaulay Langstaff was impressive in the pre-warm up. He looked in fiery form and put that into practice on the pitch. No player played poorly, it was a superb team performance. Well done to the lads! They deserve to celebrate this victory.
  21. Regardless of the severity of the injury, it is never pleasant to see a player leave the field in pain and struggling to walk. I hope we learn more about his injury soon, and I hope he is okay. Best wishes to you, Cedwyn.
  22. The club may review the situation if Cedwyn Scott is out for an extended period, which may compel them to either alter their current plans or recruit a few players. They may not bring in anyone, but I would like to see a CB. I believe Connell Rawlinson can perform well, but he may not be someone who can start regularly.
