  1. Oh dear this Budget was unpopular & so is this government. The "call a General Election petition" has exceeded 510,000 signatures.
  2. Back to a drab rainy day this morning . A little windy but looks like we've missed the worse of Storm Bert. Pleased that Notts got a clean sheet even though they couldn't score even though they had plenty of opportunity. If Notts keep a clean sheet they are not going to lose in a league match. Then it only needs one goal to win. A good defence is a prerequisite to have a successful promotion push. If the defence remains strong, there is every chance of having a successful season.
  3. Guardiola sack and Walker, Gundogan retire after Kulusevski, Spurs embarrass the champions WWW.FOOTBALL365.COM Of course Spurs followed defeat to Ipswich by thrashing champions Man...
  4. @BiggestPieInGlasgow that's a nice reply thanks. Seems a reasonable plan you have there. It seems to be a good idea to exclude the old firm from the Scottish Cup. It would give other clubs a chance to qualify for Europe. I'm sure in the early rounds the old firm field weakened teams anyway just like they do in England. I've always advocated that the top four English PL clubs, sometimes five, that qualify for the Champions league should be excluded from the following year's FA Cup.
  5. This is a record Pep won't like having.
  6. Short highlights of a famous Spurs win.
  7. So out of these players that you have mentioned @ARLukomski which of them do you believe would fit well into the Notts County system of play, & do you think they would help to maintain our excellent defensive record so far this season, but at the same time would enhance our attacking play? Bear in mind that Notts are waiting on Crowley, Jones, Edwards & Grant to return who would certainly improve our attacking capability in the second half of the season.
  8. @BiggestPieInGlasgowSo how would you like the Scottish league pyramid to look like. Would you like to see less divisions with more teams in each league? What about a cap on transfers, & a limit on players wages. How can the leagues be made more equal to reduce the dominance of the old firm?
  9. Sorry to read that you are leaving PON@Wheelbarrow repair man. Over the year that you have been on PON you have made many valuable contributions to the site. I can certainly say for myself that you have enriched the site in many ways. Some of your threads have been fun threads & got members to show their funny side. Your articles have always been well put together & interesting, & have encouraged debate. I for one liked to debate with you & looked forward to your articles & posts. As far as I'm concerned I'm sorry to see you go & will miss your contributions which, as far as I'm concerned, added to the PON site.
  10. Never thought I'd see Man City demolished at home 0:4. What's going on at the Etihad?
  11. Out of my shortlist of nine Notts players offered for voting for man of the match I thought six players stood out for me. David McGoldrick, Matty Platt, Matt Palmer, Lewis Macari & Lucas Ness, & George Abbott I think the Notts defence were outstanding once again. What a change from last season. For me it was very close between Macari, Palmer & Ness. But because he has come into the side in place of Bedeau & has played very well today, I'm going for Lucas Ness as my man of the match.
  12. I don't want to bring in players that are going to upset our defensive prowess. Those that come in must be good defensively too. We have improved so much in the defensive department that we just need to keep that going all season I think once we get our creative players back that can open up defences, I think that Notts can kick on.
  13. Your Saturday Evening Weather
  14. Notts up to fourth place after today's matches.
  15. @BiggestPieInGlasgow It is sad to see. But I am surprised that a rich potential owner hasn't come in to own teams like Hibernian & Heart of Midlothian who are based in the Capital. Surely teams like those two, plus Aberdeen & the Dundee clubs have potential for growth?
  16. My Notts player shortlist for Man of the Match against Newport is as follows:- Ness, Macari, Palmer, McGoldrick,Platt,Tsaroulla, Abbott,Jatta,Bass.
  17. A point is better than a defeat. Notts also have another clean sheet. Notts dominated the game from start to finish, & were unfortunate not to get a few goals. Notts created plenty of chances but just couldn't put them away today. Are we missing our flair players such as Crowley & Jones? Of course we are but the players that we had on the pitch worked their socks off to get a result. Again, if this was last season, Notts would probably have lost this match with such a leaky defence. Onwards we go to the next match which will be Peterborough away, in the FA Cup. That gives more time to get Crowley & Robertson nearer to match fitness for the next league match against Walsall on 3rd Dec.
  18. Full Time. Stallard: "You've got to give Newport credit, the defended manfully. Ultimately frustration is the watchword for Notts today, it feels like two points dropped
