  1. Your Weather for Thursday Morning. A cloudy start on Thursday across much of England & Wales with a band of heavy rain moving eastwards, carrying the risk of thunder & gusty winds. Brighter spells in the north & west with blustery showers, these heavy at times. Temperatures returning closer to average.
  2. A great win by Nottingham Panthers over Cardiff Devils, who currently stand 2nd in the Elite League.
  3. An excellent subject and a great read @Wheelbarrow repair man I agree with many that the loan system is a good system when the loanee proves to be a success. We always remember the successes. The downside to the loan system is when the loan doesn't work out for a variety of reasons which isn't always the fault of the player involved. It is to no one's interest to see a player being loaned out to finish up sitting on the bench match after match with just a few minutes here or there of playing time. The loan system has to be fair to all players being loaned out to clubs. A player being loaned out to a club should be better than what's available at that club. That would avoid players not getting game time. A decision should be made quickly to ascertain if the player loaned is going to get game time or not.
  4. I have been very impressed with how Stuart is dealing with our defensive frailties and by the evidence of the last four games, he is succeeding. We know that our attacking capabilities in this league are second to none, and Crewe will be worried about that threat, just like any other team in this league. We know that Stuart now has the choice of either selecting a back 5 or a back 4 which we saw worked well in the Wrexham game. This game with Crewe is important and Stuart will ensure Notts will be up for the challenge Notts also have Jatta ready to come into the side. I'm looking forward to seeing him and what he can give us. Can't wait till Saturday. CMON U PIES.
  5. Your Wednesday evening Weather. Patchy rain and drizzle clearing the southeast of England this evening. Elsewhere, some clear spells developing with blustery showers arriving into Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
  6. In Notts County's 3500th league match, Ian McParland scored a hat trick to help Notts to a 4:1 win.
  7. Your Wednesday Afternoon Weather. After a wet start, rain will continue to gradually clear north and eastwards through the day with winds also easing. Brighter spells developing later in the west with some heavy showers pushing in by the evening
  8. This match coming up against Crewe, who are themselves challenging for an automatic promotion place, is going to be another tough match for Notts. I would play the side that we played against Newport, and bring in Macari for Nemane at right back and continue to have a flat back four with traditional full backs. I would continue to play the same shape that proved successful in the Newport game. I hope that our new acquisition, Jatta, will be on the bench because he will give Notts new options. Our key areas will again be our defence and attack. Can Stuart get the balance right by ensuring Notts do not concede, but also ensure that they are still potent in attack? Notts have certainly improved defensive wise during the last four matches. It would be great to get a clean sheet against Crewe. I'm hoping for a much needed win on Saturday. A 1:0 win would do.

  10. FOUR European Weightlifting TITLES IN A ROW FOR Emily Campbell.
  11. Panthers v Cardiff Devils tonight. Face off 7:30 pm.
  12. Your Tuesday Evening Weather A cloudy evening in the south with outbreaks of rain, turning heavier and more persistent in the far west later. Clearer spells across northern England with showers gradually easing for most of Scotland
  13. A win for Andy at the Qatar Open.
  14. This is a very interesting article by Tom Williams related to tactics and how a team uses the "high press" PPDA explained.
  15. Excellent stats regarding Scott Robertson.
