  7. Plenty of rain around this afternoon with some heavy outbreaks in the west The driest and brightest of the weather in the southeast with some sunny spells Feeling very mild away from the north and beginning to feel like spring in the sunshine.
  8. The Newport win on Tuesday was down to the hard work carried out by Stuart and his team with the players over the last few weeks. The changes that we witnessed at Newport, clearly improved our defensive play not just at the back but all over the pitch. Our attacking threat wasn't compromised either. We look as much as a threat than we have been all season. Stuart got the balance between attack & defence almost to perfection on Tuesday. Reverting to a back 4 with traditional full backs was a good move. The emphasis on a defensive midfield with Robertson holding, giving Jodi a freer role, putting Macaulay wide and Didzy up front worked very well. There is more work to do, every game is different, each opponent will have different threats that we have to counter, but it does appear that Notts are looking a much solid all round side under Maynard.
  9. India v England third Test starts Thursday morning. This is your England team.
  10. Weather for Thursday Morning. Mainly cloudy on Thursday morning with rain in places, persistent in some northern and western areas Brightening up in southern and southeastern parts of England and perhaps Northern Ireland Breezy in places but very mild for the time of year

  14. It's very early days but the signs are very encouraging. Stuart's influence on the team since he started his work as Head Coach is clear to see. His little tweaks with the shape, style and tactics paid dividends tonight. Several players took on different roles tonight, but a role they are used too. Starting with a traditional back four. Macca looked comfortable as a winger, Macari as a full back, Robertson in the centre of midfield driving the play, Didzy leading the line, & last but not least, Jodi, who could express himself with a free role. I'm sure Stuart will tinker a little more depending on who we play, but I must say Notts looked more of a balanced team than we have witnessed for months. That's down to Stuart Maynard and his team.
  15. Your Weather for Wednesday evening. Cloudy and very mild for most this evening with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in places, this turning increasingly persistent and heavier in some western areas Still rather chilly for most of Scotland with a few clearer spells in the north
  16. It has been evident for months that a change was needed to try to prevent the amount of goals being conceded match after match. The changes that Stuart made for what turned out to be, the successful trip to Newport worked so well Changing to a back 4, a more defensive minded midfield & putting Didzy up front, supported by Macaulay & Jodi was a masterstroke by Stuart. The side has demonstrated that they can adapt to a new shape & style of play. In my opinion the side has picked itself for the trip to Wrexham if everyone is fit, so I see no changes for our game with them on Saturday. Every game is different of course, & there will need to be some tweaks to counter Wrexham's threat, particularly from set pieces. Every side we play will be weary of our attacking threat and Wrexham will be no different. I believe a 1:1 draw would be a great result for us, but a win would be tremendous. UPIES.
  17. If the Referee has clearly made a mistake with a sending off or not seen a clear foul in the penalty area or simply missed something important like a free kick being taken from the wrong place, VAR should be able to intervene.
