I didn’t realise that Sven was a Liverpool supporter. Out of all the teams he could have managed, Liverpool didn’t come to mind. It’s lovely to see such an uplifting story that brings a smile to someone who has contributed so much to football. It would be truly special if all of his former clubs united to honour his memory.

I’m hoping there won’t be many alterations to the team. Despite the loss, they put up a good fight and until Scott Robertson was sent off against Crawley, the game seemed to be in our favour. Sam Slocombe has proven his worth in the team, standing out with some crucial saves. Will Charlie Colkett get a chance? We haven’t seen much of him during his loan period here. I agree that Sam Austin has been excellent since joining the side. Most of the team picks itself, so I guess one of the current issues is the lack of robust replacements in certain areas.

I believe VAR needs to be controlled efficiently from behind the scenes, where decisions can be relayed quickly based on what they observe, allowing the officials to apply the rules correctly. The problem is, many officials seem hesitant to make quick decisions and spend too much time near the screens, causing further delays in the game.

Barrow appeared strong when they were able to create opportunities or control the game. I don’t blame them for their hard work as each player contributed significantly, showcasing their potential. Regrettably, we also saw the less appealing side of their game when they began to lose control. Their players became very aggressive and argumentative, often crowding around the referee. This behaviour doesn’t reflect well on a Football League club. However, when they focused on playing football, they were impressive. I thought Notts should have pushed harder for a second goal.

It’s heartening to hear that all the players are making steady progress. We must remember that their return will depend on their readiness, and this can change. Seeing them back in the gym and on the pitch will be a more significant indicator of their recovery. Some might not reach this stage until the season’s end, but that’s okay. Despite the uncertainties, it’s reassuring that the medical staff have addressed this.

It’s wonderful to see a young lad given an opportunity and then a professional contract. That’s exactly what we, as fans, want to see. The ball is now in James Sanderson’s court. I hope he seizes any opportunities that come his way. He appears to be a unique talent.

It seems highly likely that there won’t be much change. We might alter formations during games, but it appears that the starting approach will be what we’re familiar with. This makes sense as it provides Notts with ample space to advance. I just hope we limit the number of times we attempt to play out from the back. It’s not productive when nerves kick in and teams capitalise on this. I’m confident that Stuart Maynard will improve things defensively.

The main point is that we had someone like Jim O’Brien who could step in when needed. We can trust him, even though some fans think he should retire and say things about him that aren’t needed. It’s good for the club to have someone like him who’s willing to do whatever it takes. This article really shows what kind of person Jim is. It’s not about him, it’s about the club. He’s not picking his friends, he’s doing what he thinks is best for Notts County. That’s something to admire.

I’d rather see Richard Brindley start ahead of Connell Rawlinson, but apart from that, I think the lineup looks good. I have no problem with the team Jim O’Brien chose for the match against Grimsby Town. As the match is at home, Notts should perform better defensively. Even though Stockport County could be tougher than Mansfield Town, I believe Notts will step up to the challenge and deliver a strong performance. Regardless of the outcome, I expect the match to be closely contested. We should have beaten them at their ground.

Unfortunate Forest fans hoped for a point deduction for Everton, only to face one themselves. This was predicted by FourFourTwo on their YouTube channel 10 days ago. Manchester City escaping punishment seems odd. In my view, a 10-point penalty will likely relegate Nottingham Forest. Everton should manage to stay up.
