Match Discussion: League Two - Swindon Town (A)
I'm relieved we have MP and not him. Just watch the 2 post-match interviews. MP is measured, answers well but keeps it short and sweet. With Holloway, it's all about him. Witters on for double the time, a 10 minute stream of consciousness leading to him making chicken noises and saying his players are pecking each other 'peck, peck, peck, peck'. Thank god for Patto.

Who's your Man of the Match v Swindon?
So many great performances, @Robbie You have to say Macari was immaculate in everything he did. Tsaroulla is usually good but stepped up even more tonight. Jatta's all-round game is unrecognisable from a month ago - unbelievable hold-up play and clever use of the ball, such as the assist for the winner. My vote goes to Bedeau though - great defending, excellent passing and his first ever Notts goal (hopefully AJ won't claim it)

Match Discussion: League Two - Swindon Town (A)
It's looking good, isn't it? We rag-dolled a top L2 side. We should have notched 4 in each of the last two games. Fix the finsihing and we'd have to be fancied for an auto-spot

New Signing Harald Nilsen Tangen
which is why I was disappointed to see the news...that's nothing to do with Harry Tangen, so welcome and the best of luck to him. Monty's description of his qualities shows they get what we need right now....but whether he can deliver, immediately, in the rough and tumble of L2, has to be a huge question mark. First time living out of Norway too. So, welcome and best of luck to our new player - no pressure, as far as promotion goes, we can't afjord to get this wrong (maybe we can, just wanted to get that in, sorry)

Who's your Man of the Match v Crewe?
Being on a yellow didn't stop him fouling or giving it to the ref - I concluded that he must know what he's doing! And I guess MP thinks that too. Good comments from Chorizo Peligroso above. It's taken Norburn half the season to go from dud to stud. It took Palmer a year to get back to being himself after the knee injury. It takes JJ a while too to find form after an injury. He started as a liability, but now Norburn's looking for the ball more and using it in different ways. It's a lot to ask but I wonder if the upward curve has some way to go yet?

O'Reilly. Yes, I was thinking the same. Villa player. Maybe we can remind them of what we did for Grealish!

Who's your Man of the Match v Crewe?
It's easy to forget that this is Tom iorpenda's first season of senior football. That's as amazing as some of his performances. In US sports there's the phenomena of the 'rookie wall'. This is when first year players play well up til a certain point of the season when it all catches up with them. They get mentally and physically exhausted from the rigours of the season. Well, there's absolutely no sign of that yet with Iorpenda, in fact he looks to be getting better and better.

Who's your Man of the Match v Crewe?
Credit to Norburn and Jatta, both were terrific today. But Iorpenda was the clear MoM for me. It's amazing how many physical battles he wins and uses to launch attacks for us. Crewe just couldn't handle him

Match Discussion: League Two - Crewe Alexandra (A)
Phew. 3pts and some great individual performances, but not a game you could enjoy. That horrible feeling that Crewe and the ref might have another late surprise, plus the woeful finishing...I'm guessing MP's post-match will sound like a loss. He must've been feeling sick up there on that gantry. We absolutely have to be more ruthless and clinical than that.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crewe Alexandra (A)
We've been so much better than them. What a pity we're only 1 up. Hopefully we can get the 2nd before we run out of steam. This is definitely the best I've ever seen Ollie Norburn, but we need to watch his yellow card

Match Discussion: League Two - Crewe Alexandra (A)
I think it's certain there'll be at least 1 in, we have the slots and need a replacement. So even if we don't get our main targets, we'll bring in someone from down the list who can maybe contribute to both positions. On the other side, it may already be too late for any outgoings? Jatta and Dennis can settle now and concentrate on completing strong seasons where they're both high up the L2 goalscoring charts. Jatta looks happy and motivated to me, especially on last game's showing and Dennis has only played for us for a few months. They can have storming ends to the season and really boost their standing if they put their minds to it.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crewe Alexandra (A)
Confident. If players as good as Platt, Jones and Jatta are ready to play at their best and join the players we rely on (Bedeau, Macari, Palmer, Iorpenda) then we have a great chance. We have to continue to play both Jatta and Dennis IMO. It'd be interested to see Dennis' average position for his last few run outs because I think he did play a No.10 role and did OK. He can play that role. Here's a crazy idea I'd like to see tried - play both, and for spells during the game swap Jatta and Dennis. Have Jatta as inside forward and Dennis playing on the last man's shoulder for a while. I think it could throw the opposition.

Half way mark - Players of the season so far
I thought I'd quickly revisit this topic the other side of our accidental winter break and now that a couple of players have dipped under my arbitrary 50% of games mark. After responses from @Robbie @menzinho @Michael D Pie. saying Matty Dennis has to be in the top 5, I thought I'd defer to their better judgment and put him in. But faced with the choices I just couldn't do it! 5) Tom Iorpenda Being an ever-present maintaining such a high standard is remarkable for a young, inexperienced player. Credit to him 4) Allesana Jatta If only he could hit this form every week. At his best, he makes a big contribution all over the pitch 3) Lewis Macari so consistent, rarely less than a solid 6 out of ten, more often a good 7 out of ten 2) Jacob Bedeau played virtually every minute. sews up our left-hand side single-handed 1) Matty Palmer great to get him back, looks like he'll soon find the superb form he was in before his injury

January Transfer Rumours
That's 4 out now - Aljofree, Gordon, Roos, Traore. Monty doing some good work clearing the way for players to come in.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crawley Town (A)
It wouldn't be a big surprise if he was in the same category as Gordon - we have to streamline our wage bill i guess to bring in new blood. Look at the first game of the season.....Gagliardi's work is being cancelled out In that first game we had Roos, Aljofree, Gordon, Cotter all getting starts, Norburn came off the bench. So did Bennetts, who wasn't in the 18 man squad yesterday and got no mention in interviews. Norburn though is decent back-up for Palmer at this level. And consideing MP and Robbo are injury-proned we need that back-up. As a regular starter though? I wouldn't say so.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crawley Town (A)
Some comments blow my mind, are we talking about park football or something? If 'winding people up' can get a starting shirt then we're going nowhere. You're right, Norburn made very little positive contribution to our play yesterday. I think he was there for extra insurance as it was Palmer's first game back. Otherwise, there's duplication between the two and we need either Robbo or Iorpenda there to add athleticism and cover more ground

Match Discussion: League Two - Crawley Town (A)
A massive bonus that we nursed him back in, took the 3pts and he can push on from there in home games coming up. Wasting good positions in the final third kind of defines us. I'm certain the club knows this and they're doing all they can to bring in that player who can play-in Jatta and Dennis and be able to notch a few themselves.

Who's your Man of the Match v Crawley?
I'd say it's between two players who were terrible last time out but bounced back to their bests today. I'll give it to Jatta over Platt. On his day, Jatta does it all, defend, hold it up, be a threat, score.
-
Match Discussion: League Two - Crawley Town (A)
Quality goal from Jones. After stinkers last time out, Platt and Jatta were back to their bests. Very entertaining cameo from BRE. Solid debut from Belshaw. On the negative side, I get why Palmer was given the insurance of Norburn for his first game back. But we don't need that now IMO and i thought Norburn had a poor game.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crawley Town (A)
A poor half in general... Looks like we need new blood - MP circling back to things proven not to work (2 non-scorers in the No 10 positions, Palmer and Norburn in midfield together). It was a cautious selection with positive options on the bench, so maybe the plan will reveal itself in the 2nd half.

Marvellous to hear @Fan of Big Tone , you can truly be proud of your son. Let us know when he triumphs. It'll be a great achievement. Five days on and I hope the end is in sight, @Michael D Pie.

Kellan Gordon to Crawley Town
We can still dream that departures are some wage bill measures paving the way for arrivals. For example, until RR signs elsewhere I'm still hoping RM can get him back here somehow.
