  1. i used to post to others and sometimes i do but i think there is an element of people thinking they are back at school and cant speak to people with a low follow count and stuff like that. i much prefer facebook but i will see about what i can do with my bio and how to help pon. i only really use twitter to engage with pon and encourage others to get involved. those open to commenting and just embracing views are good to see tho.
  2. i thought notts played well for most parts, sam austin has come into the team determined and he looks eager to stay within the mix. this is exactly what you want to see from players who have not started much but have been on the bench. you want them to take the chance they get, so i am also pleased for austin. robertson is a bit clumsy with his challenges, i could see him walking so i think we need to make quicker decision to pull anyone who may get a red card. normally you can trust players on a yellow to avoid making silly decisions. sam slocombe was brilliant and its fair to say he did keep notts in the game. he should not take any faults for the two goals that went in, we needed to defend more bravely and plug the gap robertson left by getting sent off. you either lose attacking prowess or defensive cover. we seemed to lose both.
  3. this is a very good idea @Joshua. we all discuss what is happening and pulling in some external views is an interesting idea. i do think its difficult to single out good performers because those that simply moan just want to complain about everything. i mean those extreme moaners that are very content just being idiots because they are behind a screen and keyboard. sam slocombe usually never can win, so its good that hes got praise. i think when the form is not good, if a player can see he has some appreciation it can be encouraging to keep focused. its also good to see people standing up for maynard, although some issues are down to his management we need to understand hes learning and limited quite a lot.
  4. i think the club wanted to retain much of the togetherness from our playoff winning squad, hindsight is a very easy thing to see but its much harder ahead of time. all the points you mentioned @ARLukomski are fair and im not saying you are wrong. just staring the case that it could have worked and aided us, i dont think the injuries we have faced have not helped and our owners have spent money but we need to make sure its spent wiser. they have been constantly using their money to fuel notts and update the club in so many levels. they simply cant always be right. you raise some good points, richard montague i dont know much about so i cant criticise him.
  5. i dont know what to expect, this will be my first time travelling to crawley but i am looking forward to it. their ground seems decent enough. i hope we can play like we did against wimbledon but maintain focus nearer the end. i think we should be able to create chances which lead to goals, we have that ability but its preventing them which i am unsure about. i think we should probably stick with the same team. does anyone know if aden baldwin is injured? he would be a massive blow if hes out.
  6. matt palmer and cedwyn scott we both miss massively, this is great news for us that palmer has returned to training outside.
  7. great goal, i have seen it a few times before when pon has done the otd. great piece of history.
  8. note to self, watch youtube! i am so pleased for the womens team, points can change a season and lift everyones confidence. i want to see our teams playing at the highest levels possible, so i am delighted to see this. well done pies!
  9. glad to have you back, @CliftonMagpie. i am glad you took time and feel better for doing it. we just need the gaffer back now. to members reading this, please set your status as a way if you have not left but wont be posting. we do care about everyone and it shows us you are coming back.
  10. i enjoyed the weekend even despite the notts result, i enjoyed the game but left frustrated because of wimbledon. notts players did mostly well but did not quite manage the ending all the well. far more positive than negative tho. sunday i did the usual and fetched my mums shopping, she prefers it hand picked and fresh. some might wonder why she does not get home delivery but shes very old school and would do this herself without transport if it was not for me. i quite like doing it to help her and on occasions to top up what i need. after fetching the shopping i had sunday dinner with my mum and aunt.
  11. Northampton Town 1-0 Blackpool Shrewsbury Town 0-2 Exeter City Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Wigan Athletic joker AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Gillingham Newport County 0-0 Morecambe Walsall 2-0 Barrow Halifax Town 0-0 Oldham Athletic Maidenhead United 0-1 Hartlepool United
  12. much of my thoughts have already been expressed, i get that results have not been good enough but i think it is easier to blame stuart maynard than understand that there are a lot of different elements to this situation. its not an excuse to say the injuries are still having impacts and the players do need to work harder not to concede. its not like there is no signs of positives, the reward of sticking with maynard might just pull the players together if they see that fans are behind him. otherwise i fear they will give up mentally and that is more difficult to snap out of.
  13. i hope you dont mind me having posted this @Piethagoram but i am pleased people are expressing support and concern. its not so much about me missing your posts but making sure you know we care. i dont want my messages to annoy you but i am more than happy to apologise in case they have.
  14. welcome to pon, @Colin Phillips. i hope you enjoy the site and jump into sharing thoughts in the discussions.
  15. its personal and not really for me to do it, so i dont want to over step things but i do care and look out for people who are members on social media. sometimes we just need to know that people care. i know this when i had my accident at work.
  16. community is something that makes a difference, you see it on facebook, twitter where pockets of fans look out for each other and its no different on pon. its very important, i know it is to some of the others i know here. we dont just discuss notts but we get to know each other through the comments and that might take some by surprise but i would always encourage a community that supports each other than one that turns against itself.
  17. i am not sure if i should or not post this, but i think there will be other members who wont know that care just like me. after incidents the last few years, i know a group of us decided to try to be supportive and express community care because it is what was shown to us. take care and know we do @Piethagoram.
  18. not to be negative but is 26 seconds all they can come up with? why not use their socials to get fans to submit questions and therefore they could make them more meaningful to watch. i felt disappointed to get such a short clip. it does not tell me much either. i just realised the youtube video is the full one, still quite short but much better.
  19. pon is my main go to, its the only site i have a quick access link to. i do watch youtube but the double ads and constant things they have done in order to block ads, despite me not having anything on my browser that does that has made me consume much less videos. besides all the good creators seem to be leaving, there is a mass exit of them doing so or employing people to run their channels and its not the same. facebook i used quite a bit, messenger more so at least to keep tabs on people and i have made it a goal of mine to message mr ram above me. bbc sport, sky sports, some of the papers like the mirror who from time to time do good football articles. twitter seldomly, but i only do it mostly to engage with pon and members outside. i thought it gave me a good way to get to know some of them that i really enjoy better.
  20. the similar topics addition should be helpful, not that we get many times where two members have posted the same thing but at least there is something to say it might be or not. also the away members is a nice thing. its sad to see people suddenly disappear and if we can see that they just might be busy and therefore away at least we can expect them to be back at some stage.
  21. i hope after the 90s minute and final whistle that we can feel happy knowing notts gave a good account of themselves. if afc wimbledon play well and win, so be it but i just wish to see more positive signs from our games. we are long overdue a solid performance and i am hoping that will be tomorrow. just hearing the kop feeling happier and the players giving their best. coyp!
  22. @Robbie cloudy and pretty dull again bring on the warmer weather!
  23. i think stuart maynard needs the win more than most fans who want to see him succeed do, it would be great to see notts return to doing the business. whatever we cant control, notts must try to stir towards what we can. i am fully behind the club, players and i just hope we can get a good result against wimbledon.
  24. oh this is hard but i managed to come up with a player i remember @Piethagoram mentioning. he was a very good player i felt, someone i wished we had seen more of during his loan and after he was released from his club, i wished he had signed for us. lloyd sam
  25. we have a good history playing villa, we might not always win but they seem to be great games between two good teams despite any difference in the playing levels.
