  1. i hope we are, if we can be more creative and try to take chances from distant i think england could make a real game of it. i sort of see it either being very defensive and uneventful or one team will take it to the other, which will force the play to be more open. it would be nice to see the national team win something in my life time. we are on the verge of making another final, it warrants a good performance and the players do their best. the majority of england fans will be right behind them. ????????????????????????????????????????
  2. i watched a news segment on youtube where a person actually shown we have progressed further more with gareth southgate than all the years prior. its not because we just have a wave of good talent but his insight as a coach and manager. tactically, he might have his mindset but there is no denying he is a big part of the england teams success.
  3. the nest is the best name i think the fan zone could have been called, it makes you feel a part of something and its where a lot of notts fans will flock before a game. whoever came up with it deserves a pay raise!
  4. i never knew this either, the nest seems a strange name for a ground. it does not sound right to me.
  5. i cant imagine waving the union jack, instead of the st georges flag at games. during rugby where the six nations have played, i have seen it happen during those games but the united kingdom these days seems more divided by rivalry than ever before. i dont mind wales of scotland. wales seems to have a bigger issue with the english than the scots, i have family up north and i am always treated nicely by people in scotland. northern ireland always has seemed to be the most easiest to get along with.
  6. i always thought a realtor sounded more like someone who sold items, not act as an estate agent.
  7. good luck to him, a lot of ex players are on the move and working in coaching.
  8. it will be part teams again, as i would imagine they want to see what the trialists offer and what might be needed in terms of further recruitment. it wont be until the later stages of friendlies until we go first team minded but i would not mind seeing it. there was some good spells against alfreton, where the link play looked quite encouraging.
  9. @Fan of Big Tone i wondered if it used to be a luxurious retreat for egyptian royalty back in the day. ????
  10. its not been a bad game really, the free kick was a good effort. i dont think any complaints about the result really matters, its pre season. fitness and to see what areas might need tactically improving. nothing else.
  11. i dont really know who he is but i trust the recruitment team, its been nice previous seasons how we have narrowed down using trials as a means to judge a players ability. instead signing players typically ready for first team football. not that i think alex kirk would not be, i suppose the options for centre backs might be narrowing.
  12. it feels like getting a second vote for brexit, but i am glad matt palmer has been given it. captains are usually also a senior member of the squad who has been around and knows the ropes, unless you are signing a captain and they have requested it as part of the transfer we would always be looking at someone like palmer.
  13. anyone know the reason why its part of denmark and not norway? i have not visited it before but it does look stunning. really quite timeless.
  14. i cant say if they are serious suggests but i have read comments from some of our fans who believe the number needs retiring. ???? i dont really care who gets it, its just a number but i will say it would be nice if it actually started to mean something again. like the number 9 would always be a key player, a sign of their value in our team. these days, most are just numbers which is why it does not bother me.
  15. it makes me laugh, because they look so awful. does it really cause injuries because they are too tight? why do they have a new pair for every game, surely they get washed with the shirts? its just one of those things one person started doing and others are tagging along.
  16. whoever starts as the striker, so i would imagine it will be between scott and jatta.
  17. yeah hes better than eastleigh, either he just felt like they would be the right fit or he was offered better wages. i cant imagine a league two team not being interested, i mean it might be that he was not likely to start but surely some club at our level would see hes a good player. i wish richard brindley all the very best.
  18. its not a name i am familiar with myself, i assume hes ex notts. must before i started watching, i remember lee and jeff. ???? just not andy hughes...
  19. @Wheelbarrow repair man supposedly they are paying more than £700,000, i have read that its likely that they will be paying instalments and other addon bonuses. true or not i dont know, but if its true a bid was rejected. maybe this one is worth more than that? we can only hope its more as its a done deal.
  20. @gtownjohnno i dont know but it does not harm to have the spirit. last time i remember was photos from the aston villa cup match when jack grealish gave his boots to one of our young fans. stuart maynard gave a good interview.
  21. it really does put things into perspective and it does feel like an end of an era. i am very thankful for macaulay langstaffs contributions. i feel lucky to have seen him play for us because he has been unlike any other striker we have had. i hope we can put the disappointment of his departure behind and have a good go at promotion now.
  22. well there wont be any macaulay langstaff sightings unless fans are wearing his name on their shirts. it will be interesting to see how we lineup and just how much junior morias may feature. cedwyn scott has to start up front, either him or jatta. i think the first half we will field mostly youth players. see how they cope and manage, then throw on some first team potentials.
  23. wow, i thought i had welcomed you @Morten Johansen. i know you have been posting which is fantastic, but i should have taken the time to say hello. i hope you enjoy pon.
  24. it looked like it was more true the way articles were being released, but i had hoped it was wrong. we have to find a way to strengthen and pick ourselves up. its sad to see him go, but we have the goals he scored and the moments we have overcome from being a club on the verge of destruction to a promotion hopeful. one player does not change this, but macca will always be a god at meadow lane.
  25. matt palmer is the obvious answer, i think the vice captaincy should be considered between cedwyn scott and jodi jones. those are two players i think would do the role well.
