  1. very saddened to see macaulay langstaff leave, not sure what i make of the speculated price but i wish him all the best. i hope notts can find a replacement which pleases people, do think cedwyn scott would benefit from playing as a striker.
  2. good luck to lucian mahovo, i hope he makes the best of this move. its such a promising one for him.
  3. i certainly can see why fans feel this has been handled poorly by the club. i think in hindsight notts wanted to get fans on side for the new season, appointed macca as the captain prematurely. they should have waited for the pre-season to begin and then they might have seen if any bids did come in. it looks bad for notts at the moment. i wish macaulay langstaff all the best, hes been an incredible player for us and its been brilliant watching him score for us. he will be a hard player to replace but we do have the memory. we now know slightly how it felt for gateshead fans.
  4. no, he wont. hes gone to millwall.
  5. its always sad to see a young player leave but at least this is a step in the right direction for him, he should be able to go on and make a good career for himself. norwich city will be a fantastic opportunity for him.
  6. i think saying he is not a leader is harsh, he led us well but he clearly wanted the role. did it make him a good leader? i think so at times but i do understand where @Simon Clark is coming from. it does look like a poor attitude to request a move asking losing the captaincy. yet we dont know what has been said behind the scenes. notts has moved to sign centre backs, we speculated that he might have to fight for his place. being replaced as the captain, then to potentially lose your space in the first team i can imagine hurts. ideally we would see him stay and fight for his place, prove to us that he is a leader on the pitch. its the right move though, as it gives us a chance to fully move away from the issues our previous centre backs presented in their mistakes and having a more defensive minded back three should fix that. kyle cameron has been a good player for us, he deserves to be remembered for all he has done but we have to accept it and move on. in comparison to potenially lose macaulay langstaff, it does not compare. i think that says a lot.
  7. i am understanding that we will at times lose key players, its how we go about it that bothers me. signing in players does keep things different but its important to have players here for the long term that our fans can lookup to. sure someone new will become a player of this type, but losing macaulay langstaff potentially like this ahead of the season it does disappoint me. that will pass, i will in time be happier and more myself. right now, if frustrated that notts could potentially drop such a negative bomb on its own fans.
  8. i might be rare in that i looked forward to the start of a week, i do like weekends but work is very fulfilling for me. the week ahead should be about what you can do different but i can understand its a routine for some.
  9. pleased to see him and other brits doing well in formula one racing. its nice to see him win at silverstone.
  10. macaulay langstaff will be sold at some point, ahead of a season that has given some promise makes things feel a bit false if he is to leave notts like this. i would not blame langstaff but i would feel notts made a mistake in the process of conducting the sale. you dont make someone likely to leave become the captain. lets hope that this is all just false news, but i feel that the negatives of the information might just be something that grows. its a shame because things seemed very promising until now.
  11. it does not look good, a lot of fans on social media are unhappy. i would be disappointed but the information of the sale could help, i dont think an undisclosed fee would tho. its all ifs and buts right now, i really hope that its not true. misinformation via the internet is very easy to escalate. if macaulay langstaff leaves its something we have to get used too but its the way its conducted which is what causes the mistrust or negative feelings. i know we would have to sell him at some point but it does not mean it should be like how things are being reported.
  12. but hes going their on loan? why are some of our fans acting like they have signed him permanently? is there some sort of signing on agreement if they choose to take it up? i have not read anything to suggest its anything but a loan. then again, his deal could be out and then he may be a free agent. i suppose that could be the case. i wish him well regardless.
  13. it shows some transfer clauses can be smart, unlike some of the ones we have placed on players in the past who have been signed for free. i hated when we used to do that and justify a gamble in return that the club would not release the player in order not to pay us a fee.
  14. free weekend for me, i have no plans. my mum will be out with my aunt on sunday, they are going sheffield shopping and to visit a friend. that means no shopping, so i might be able to have a lazy weekend for once.
  15. gareth southgate should be okay with adapting the squad, its not like we have not played with a back 3 before. the issue is doing it right in a tournament where the performances have no been great. i just hope we dont fall asleep at the back because without the defence, we may have been out already. yes its taken attacking players to score but pickford and the defence has done much better.
  16. i watched something where it said that manchester united needed more stewards, i think this was a few years ago and in a documentary. it highlighted the staff quite well, with people talking about sir alex ferguson and other things before the current owners arrived. what i find worrying is they probably wont stop spending silly fees. meanwhile regular people relying on their jobs to pay the bills, wont be able to have the luxury of retaining their jobs.
  17. nottingham sometimes feels like certain parts could have been chosen better, but i think the current train station is fine because its near to things that makes sense. i cant imagine vic centre being anything different.
  18. personally, i think if a club from league two wanted to sign a player from a premier league academy and they were able to do it where a fee would need to be agreed. like it is done the other way around, then the price should reflect them improving at the club. not what a premier league could may want. premier league teams do pick off a lot of good young talent, some of which filters down once they have used them. but you dont see many lower league teams getting good fees in return for the players they helped to become future stars, tribunals always favour the bigger clubs i feel.
  19. its a good step up and i think hes a good player, i hope he transitions well. he should get more time to play he way he likes in league one.
  20. i think 11 years is nothing, its quite a serious crime and part of the deterrent is the amount you could face in prison. in the middle east, they would only dream of 11 years for this sort of thing. its frustrating and sad.
  21. its in line with most clubs our size and have ambitions just like us. it makes it more value to renew and get the best price, do fans who pay the higher amount get a chance to make it cheaper next season? i dont understand completely how the early bird deal works at notts. its a bit confusing and my worry is that the loyalty scheme might just add further headaches. i went to every game last season home and away, so i think it will effect me. i do feel the family club feel might fall wayward with these prices as not many families who are not season ticket holders could justify so much money being spent on a football game when the cost of living is still high itself.
  22. well i think with sam slocombes repeated injuries and the fact aidan stone falls to pieces when he concedes, it looked promising for tiernan brooks to be given a shout in the cup matches and in rotation in the league if needed.
  23. yeah, i am seeing that too. it does not seem to be official yet, maybe somewhere else has said it has happeed?
  24. someone on facebook has suggested he has already gone but i cant see anything confirming it. i think it would be a disappointment but it makes sense to allow tiernan brooks go and get the experience he needs to play first team football. we have signed alex bass, he seems to be looking likely to be our future keeper for some time. only issue i have, is we dont really know how good brooks could be. allowing him to go out on loan is one thing but if he ends up being sold this season, i would be disappointed we did not test him more last year.
  25. hello, @lucy80. welcome to the pride of nottingham.
