  1. My cousin supports Barnet so I'll be keeping an eye on the NL. I hope Kidderminster do well.
  2. Gallow's Pole was finished by the time I met him. If he needs any fat Irishmen in his next project, he knows where to find me ???? I watched the first episode and I enjoyed it. We got to know the characters. There is a bit of a This Is England set in the 1760s when it comes to the dialogue and I can see how that could put people off. I'm OK with it.
  3. I get up at 6.15. I walk 5KM. Have breakfast. Start work. I work from home which I find is much better for my mental and physical well being. I go to the office once a week for a break in the routine.

I travelled back to Cork on the Saturday night after the playoff win. When I got on the plane, a Forest fan, he was at the Chelsea game, stood up and applauded and said how happy he was to see County back in the league. So based on that, I'm happy Forest stayed up.

Lads it's a sad day. Despite my show of support at Wembley, I have not made the retained list. I shall be looking for a new club. I had an offer from Mansfield but I'm not that desperate. I always had a soft spot for Kidderminster so hopefully I'll end up there. ???????? Sorry, I'm in a mischievous mood this morning ????
  6. I think ML will stay for at least another season. I can see him scoring 20 plus goals in L2.

I'm a football nerd so I knew what it was ???? It's an interesting but heart stopping way of taking a penalty.
  8. Reading are a mess. I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot barge pole!
  9. I think Jodi Jones will be offered a contract. Norwich see Mair as one for the future so they are unlikely to sell him but I think they would let him come to County on a season long loan.
  10. We are going to need a deep squad next season. League 2 is a physically tough league and players are going to miss games through injury. I'd like to get Archie Mair on loan again and give him the number 1 jersey. Norwich won't sell him is my feeling. Other than that, it's wait and see in terms of who stays and who leaves. Jeff King is someone I'd like to see at Meadow Lane. He's perfect for the type of game County play.

Saturday was the first time I've seen Aaron live. He gave a masterclass in wing play. My friend was telling his son to copy what Aaron does next time he has a game. I'm looking forward to seeing what Aaron can do in L2 next season.
  12. What a day. I'm shattered physically and emotionally but I'm happy. To witness that game in person will stay with me forever. I also got a photo with my favourite director, Shane Meadows, Shane was as excited as I was! He was happy to come and say hello and chat for a few minutes.
  13. @ARLukomski Well done Sir. It was an epic battle and your victory was well deserved. @DangerousSausage Thanks for running the league and I hate to mention it, but I still haven't received my hen's tooth for last season's victory ????
  14. As we are going to Wembley next Saturday, me included, I thought it would be nice to remember our trips to Wembley over the years. I'll start with the Anglo Italian Cup on 19th March 1995. Notts faced Ascoli after beating Stoke on penalties after a 0-0 draw over 2 legs. That may not have been the most exciting tie ever! Notts took the lead through Tony Agana after 17 mins. Ascoli drew level in the 33rd minute. Devon White put Notts in front on the stroke of half time. Notts held on in the 2nd half for a 2-1 win. Around 11K fans were at Wembley to witness Notts winning a European trophy. Edit: Yes I said European trophy and I'll fight anyone who disagrees ????????????
  15. What a roller coaster of emotion. 2 down at half time. Instant response. McDonnell saves a penalty. Baldwin rescues it at the death. 2 tired teams. Nemane makes a crucial clearance and right at the end, Jones wins it. Incredible. See ye at Wembley. I took advantage of the early bird offer, best decision I have made in a while!
  16. https://www.borehamwoodfootballclub.co.uk/uncategorized/welcome-joe-mcdonnell/ I can imagine bow this conversation went. BW: We need an emergency goalkeeper. National League: Of course. Ask Wrexham for Ben Foster. We want you to have the best to beat Notts County. We need to keep them in the NL. BW: How about Joe McConnell? He's arguably the best keeper in the league. NL: Approved. We'll have a word with the officials as well. Something tells us ye are going to be celebrating Sunday afternoon......
  17. Boreham Wood are difficult to play against. The officials are going to play a key part. If they stop Boreham Wood engaging in the dark arts, Notts will be half way to victory. Notts County are the better side but this a cup tie. Sunday can't come quickly enough.
  18. Huddersfield 2-1 Reading (Joker) Millwall 2-1 Blackburn Middlesbrough 1-2 Coventry Preston 1-2 Sunderland Bradford 2-1 Leyton Orient Newport 1-1 Crewe Tranmere 1-2 Northampton Walsall 1-1 Doncaster
  19. I'm more concerned about Boreham Wood than Barnet. They are a decent side and won't be intimidated by a packed Meadow Lane. We can't afford to take our eye off the ball. The lack of concentration at the back has to be cut out.
  20. Reading 2-1 Wigan (Joker) Stoke 1-1 QPR Accrington Stanley 2-1 Cambridge Derby 2-1 Portsmouth Morecambe 1-1 Lincoln Carlisle 1-2 Salford Gillingham 2-1 Newport Northampton 2-1 Bradford
  21. Maidstone are a poor side. It could have been 8-2. Notts have got to stop conceding sloppy goals.
  22. I remember my first visit to Meadow Lane. It was August 2007 and it was Brentford. I arrived on the Friday and couldn't resist a trip to ML. The groundstaff were doing their final bits and pieces. I must have looked like a tourist because one of them asked if I was OK. I explained where I was from and he asked if I wanted to stroll around the stadium while they were finishing up. It was a fantastic gesture and one I'll always remember. Notts County and the fans have always made he feel at home when I visit.
  23. Hull 1-1 Watford Norwich 1-2 Swansea Peterborough 1-1 Ipswich Port Vale 1-2 Bristol Rovers Hartlepool 2-1 Crawley Mansfield 2-1 Stevenage (Joker) Eastleigh 2-1 Solihull York 2-1 Aldershot
  24. Sunderland 2-1 Huddersfield (Joker) Burton 1-2 Bolton Exeter 1-1 Derby Carlisle 0-1 Stockport Crawley 1-1 Colchester Grimsby 1-2 Barrow Altrincham 1-1 Dagenham Halifax 2-1 Bromley

I always get emotional on the anniversary of Hillsborough. I was 12 and I remember it like it was yesterday. Scenes like that were too much to process for a 12 year old. 97 victims. Countless lives destroyed. Grown men and women who still can't talk about or deal with what they witnessed that day. Today I would like to remember Tony Bland, Andy Devine, Sarah Hicks and Louise Hicks. Tony clung to life for 4 years before passing away in 1993. Andy survived against all the odds and died at the age of 55. The 97th victim. Sarah and Louise were sisters. 19 & 15. A life time of potential gone in a few tragic moments. I'm in Liverpool in June and the memorial will be my first stop. It will be emotional but it's something I need to do.
